Absolutely ridiculous. No one is encouraged toward homosexuality. Sexuality is innate, not brought about by candy commercials. Japan faces real problems, and girls kissing in a commercial isn't one of them.

So they attack, give some of the land back, and you claim that means they're getting smaller. Sorry, that's just not true at all. They also haven't given back the Golan Heights, stolen from Syria. Israel is an illegal apartheid state who has repeatedly attacked its neighbors, and caused ill will.

You can, but I'm just going to laugh at you. You can expect everyone to give you all their money and make you king of the world, doesn't mean it's realistic. I'm a considerate smoker, but smoker hating douches deserve to get faces full of smoke.

I don't smoke near children. But you can't expect every smoker to stop smoking because you walk near them. If you see someone smoking, and it sends you into your self-righteous tizzy, walk away. That simple. No one is asking you to stand near it. And smoking provides a great service to society. It calms smokers so they don't end up punching self-satisfied holier-than-thou anti-smoking nazis right in their smug faces.

Israel is the real aggressor, they're the ones attacking people, killing people. Iran hasn't attacked anyone. I hope Iran destroys Israel if they attack.

One poster writes: "If someone is smoking near my child I ask him to leave" Why would you be taking your child near smoking? Are there smokers who follow you around blowing smoke into your face? I highly doubt that. If someone is smoking near your child, just walk away, stop bringing your child to smoking areas. Only smoke at home? No, public space means public space. There shouldn't be anti-smoking laws against smoking in the open air. There certainly shouldn't be anti-smoking laws in bars. "Please don't hurt my lungs while I murder my liver". Ridiculous. Guess what folks? Who gives a crap? You're all going to die, no one is immortal. So just live and let live. And to hell with anti-smoking nazis.

PTSD isn't only caused by being in combat. To all the jerks posting on here heartlessly about how you never had problems in the military, or how it's voluntary, just shut the **** up. No one needs your snide remarks. Suicide is a serious problem and is indicative of serious mental health problems. It doesn't make him a bad person, it means he needs help. Imprisoning someone for having mental problems is ridiculous. It makes about as much sense as jailing someone for getting food poisoning. Until the military stops ignoring the problem and punishing and stigmatizing mental illness, the problem will never be solved.

Unreconstructed, yes, legal representation is a right. And yes, food should be a right as well, since we throw away millions of tons of it every year. We have enough for everyone. Democrats and Republicans are both useless.

The author is overly simplistic, as if the world is just a wind up toy that has to be wound to work. No, grow up. I do believe in entitlement. I believe that individuals in a society are entitled to education, the rule of law and fairness. I believe that I am entitled to my GI bill, because I put in the time to get it. I believe workers are entitled to own the means of production, because they are the ones who are actually producing value. So call me crazy, but I believe in entitlements. Without entitlements, we wouldn't have a society.

How do people like this get elected in Japan? I would think people there are smarter than that. Ishihara alone should be blackballed from government.

It is in my humble opinion that this cult be banned. Protecting religious expression is less important than the safety of the Japanese people. You join Aleph, you go to jail.

LFRAgain, That is a horrible analogy, and not at all pertinent to the issue at hand. Japan did a great wrong in WW2, and has the responsibility to repay the victims of its crimes. It's that simple. This is also a good example of what kind of lasting damage is done by nationalism, something Japan still hasn't completely learned its lesson about.

I see this argument is going back and forth. But would it really hurt that much to just reach out to S.Korea and make the payment that they request, and forever put to rest this black stain on Japan's history? It seems to me that the only thing holding Japan back from doing that is ego. Get rid of ego and do the right thing for the people of Japan and the people of Korea.

How many countries has China invaded in the last 50 years? Now compare that to the US. Fear mongering xenophobia is no way to conduct foreign policy, and Japan would be better served getting to know, and learning to work with its Asian neighbors than continuing being the lapdog of the US.

This is stealing, plain and simple. The terrorists of the NTC do not deserve a single cent. And shame on Japan. This proves that the current government of Japan is nothing but a sad little lapdog of western imperialism. For shame.

This article absolute trash. What did Koizumi ever do to to really solve Japan's problems? Did he help out in foreign relations with China? No, he purposely pissed them off. Did he reform the education system? No. Did he do anything but what right wing jerks always do, being the lap dogs of rich corporation's interests? No. He might have had some leadership skills too, but Japan needs a fresh start in politics, not the same old cronyism and bull.

This story made me really angry. That the Japanese government will just sit by and allow such a miscarriage of justice says alot about the impotency of the Japanese government. Shame on them. Hopefully things will change, and I hope that guy sues the hell out of that B$&%%.

skipthesong - Isreal has picked up george bush's rally against Iran" Excuse me, but I may have been young, but hasn't the US been having problems with Iran since 79'? Ummm, Iran has said the want to annihilate the Israeli state, and that is enough reason to pick up...a rally against Iran. Guess what people, Iran and the US arent the only ones watching Iran closely.
