the Americans were claiming they were 99 percent effective, or some such nonsense

They are 100% effective. Reports to the contrary have been propagated by anti-Americans.

I think Madverts is 100% correct. Clinton allowed for the death of Glass-Steagall and created conditions that resulted in Sarbannes-Oxley. The economic troubles have only worsened since the Democrat party took control of Congress. We would be better without them.

Very important! Once they're gone, Japanese automakers will rule the world.

Ossan, we're describing the same thing. There's a minor difference on the role of 100 yen shops in all this, but otherwise we're in agreement.

People who are against the death penalty have not experienced a family member being killed.

    I have, and I am.

This sort of statement is ridiculous.

I remember when this happened, and it was a racial issue from day 1, right behind the motivations of the arsonist. Go check out the newspapers from the time and read his quotes. To deny this is bewildering.

I would draw the line at breaking bones. Bruises and some bleeding are effective in teaching a child what not to do (get out of the way of the TV, shut up during the game, etc). But, breaking bones goes a little too far.

A "more global" is not quite the right way to put it. The US has promised Japan Asia, but not Russia or India. Japan will be allowed to take China, southeast Asia and Mongolia, and use those resources to help our alliance. Of course, the US will then have the leverage necessary against Russia and will be able to once again exploit Africa for resources without Chinese meddling. The New World Order is taking shape and will be solidified with the destruction of the DPRK and the internal strife to follow in the PRC. Iran will be cornered and unable to countermand Israeli offensives, and the US/Israel alliance will turn the middle east into a single state, entirely emasculated and subservient to its consumerist overlords.

Global politics is heading towards this path, and the DPRK is only helping it come faster. If ROK is lost in the process, so be it. We can accept some level of collateral damage now that key industry has been moved to Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia. ROK has made itself irrelevant through the long process of reunification.

    These are easy:

    1) Yes, there was a UFO crash. That doesn't mean it was from another planet, but something did crash there.

    2) DoD had Kennedy killed.

    3) We went to the moon.

    4) We know what happened on 9/11

    5) Princess Diana died in a terrible accident.

He went too far, but good for him. Hopefully old people will start thinking twice before opening their mouths and telling people what to do. I've had a few people say things to me on trains and every time they get the same response: Me shouting "Are you talking to me?" until they break down and cry.

structurally Japan is in pole position

What? Japan has abandoned the idea of structural reform. The budget is a mess. The debt to GDP ratio is a mess.

Rather than crying to the government, Japan’s companies are making hard but forward-looking decisions to ensure future global leadership and competitiveness.

Is this wrong or a flat-out lie? Japanese firms are begging the government for public funds and the Bank of Japan is buying their shares to help their balance sheets look good.

Highly educated, diligent and hard working, Mr and Mrs Watanabe still possess a basic power and discipline that build a strong foundation for future recovery.

    Like anywhere else.

Household balance sheets are very strong, since Japan’s deleveraging already happened during the 1990s.

Does this guy know any real Japanese people outside of the Roppongi Hills bubble? Savings are eroding and people are not spending.

Prudent borrowing and spendthrift financial management is nothing new to the Japanese people

I guess that explains the lines outside the pachinko parlors.

[DPJ] ideas are actually forward looking, new and credible.

What??? Name one. A single one. You can't? That's because they've never come up with one.

Have to wonder about this guy's past predictions.
