The big DENIAL is already starting. Takeuchi, you can forget the big lie because Japanese troops practiced cannibalism. I heard from one former soldier who stated that they had to eat curry that had the liver of an American pilot. The pilot was beheaded, then eaten. The soldiers were not starving. Those responsible officers were later tried and eventually hanged on Guam. When I read Hillenbrand's novel, the story was plausible. But knowing the Japanese habit of trying to hide the ugly truth, I am not surprised that many people will stand with Takeuchi.

So what is happening in the USA? I am concerned that the US FAA have not questioned Korean Air why a passenger can order the Captain to return to the gate. Are all Korean Air flights run like this? If anything, Cho should have been kicked off the plane for disrupting the flight.

This spoiled brat needs to be spanked, her head shaved, feathered and tarred. The US FAA need to inquire into this brat's action because she was not a crew member and had caused a delay in departure. I am sure that FAA's protocol was not followed. So Captain, you better have a good answer why a passenger can order an airline to return to gate and kick off a member of your crew.

Now that imported foods are so expensive, the Japanese farmers must be out in force plowing up the dormant fields and paddies to prevent starvation. Isn't this what all those farmers said when their products were artificially priced higher? Isn't this the reason why the politicians backed up the farm lobby? Citizens of Japan, your farmers will be out in force shorty so you will not starve.

Hirai you are a spineless coward. I can't believe you frat over a movie just because its about a North Korean brat. No wonder the people of Asia thinks Japanese are cowards that can't standup to China without the USA holding your hands.

The Japan Coast Guard should confiscate the boat and coral harvest. The captain should be thrown in prison. The Japan Maritime Self Defense force can use the boat as target practice.

Maybe it is time for the US military bases to close in Okinawa. I can't imagine a "Red" invasion from China into the neighboring countries. North Korea is another story. But there is no need for the American bases in Okinawa to strike fear into North Korea. The US 7th Fleet is homeported in Yokosuka. One carrier task force is more than enough to take care of any aggression by the North Korea.

It is truly unfortunate that Japan can't or won't protect the waters of Ogasawara islands. What happened to the assurances of the Japanese PM to President Johnson in 1967 that the Bonin Islanders will be looked after upon return of the islands to Japanese control? I am sure it also means taking care of the surrounding waters and resources. I hope the Russians are taking a good hard look at what is happening to the Ogasawara islands. Just think what would happen if Russia gave the Northern Territories back to Japan and the Chinese fishing fleet shows up. The Japanese coast guard will "monitor" until all the fish stock is gone. Just like the "monitoring" of the Bonin waters until the red corals are stripped clean. Thank you Mr. Abe for nothing.

I cannot believe a health care worker would ignore a medical quarantine, especially when the incubation period has not passed. Is SHE STUPID??

If found guilty the boat and catch should be confiscated. The captain and crew thrown into prison.

Japan need to boost their non-military Coast Guard as well. It is important to note that economic theft from Japanese waters needs to be addressed. The Chinese fishing fleet are plundering the coral from areas around the Ogasawara Islands. There is no Japanese Coast Guard vessels or aircraft patrolling around these remote islands. The same can be said of Marcus Islands. The Chinese fishing fleet is taking advantage of this gap and plundering the marine resources while the Japanese Coast Guard is tied up in the contested Sankaku islands.

Japanese politicians will not open the door to the TPP concerning the inefficient agricultural practices. The practice of subsidizing farm goods is entrenched in Japan. The benefits of cheaper imported food to the Japanese consumers are lost in political double talk and dire doom predictions from the agricultural sector. Too much money and politics are involved to opening this closed market. Forget Japan and move forward with the rest of the world.

Close your borders. Too many travelers from Africa already coming into Japan. Just a matter to time when Ebola shows up in Japan.

As one can see from Obama's response to the Ebola outbreak in Texas, he has no clues what to do. Obama is ALWAYS reacting to situations. He is never proactive on preventing things from happening in the US or other parts of the world. So, don't depend on the US for anything while he is in charge (?).

What the heck were the cops doing after "police had reportedly received numerous complaints" from area residents? If the cops went out and arrested these young thugs, the inn keeper wouldn't have had to take the matters into his own hands. I say, praise the inn keeper. If this was in say Texas, USA, the thugs would have been shot off their bikes. Good for you inn keeper. Keep up the good work. The cops won't patrol your neighborhood to keep the peace, so do it with your neighbors.

Japan cannot entirely depend on another to defend its territory. You can ask for help but don't depend on it. If Japan needs nukes to defend itself against aggressors, then she need to build them.

Same old story. The NK do not have any news because the Great Leader announced to Japan what they did and five returned. To shed new light on abduction at this time will essentially cast the Great Leader as liar. I don't think the functionaries are ready to admit this. The NK is stringing Japan to curry favors, just as the Russians are doing with the Northern islands.
