Obama is a light weight compared to Putin. When Putin declares "war" and invades Crimea to save the Russians, he will annex the territory as Russian real estate and never give it up. He will follow the established pattern that was employed to Japan in the closing days of WWII; got the Northern Islands and as we all know, the Russians ain't going to give up the islands. So Ukraine citizens say goodbye to Crimea because Obama and the rest of the world will not get involved except make noises.

What, no safety review? Must hold safety officials responsible for this accident. I mean, work under a molten caldron of metal? Please, a little common sense.

As I stated early last year, Japan should not be invited into the TPP talks. Japanese farmers have too much political pull, the protection will stay in place.

Japan will need a more powerful military to counter China and the North Korean threat. To rely solely on the US under the mutual defense pact will not cut it. The only country responsible for defense of Japan is Japan itself. You can't rely on other countries to come to your defense, it may come too late. Japan should not restrict itself to just self defense. It needs an offensive capabilities in order to stop aggression from starting.

cable probably cut by submarine transiting the strait. of course no navy would admit that their sub was in that area.

The Japanese will hunt the whales, dolphins, big eye tuna and other fishes out of existence. The world should ban tuna exports to Japan. The world should not buy Japanese goods and tourists should not visit Japan. The only thing Japan understand is what hurts their pocket book. So World, if you are angry with Japan, don't buy Japanese goods, cars, miso or shop in Uniglo stores.

Why, it's a high honor for Mr. Abe especially coming from North Korea. You all knew he was going to build up the JSDF and change the laws regarding use of the self defense forces. Soon, he will have offensive capabilities too. So watch out North Korea, Mr. Abe might seek out and destroy your nuclear facilities.

As I said before, big change happens in little steps. Sign on the horizon shows US gradually pulling out of Japan and the mutual defense treaty. Can't count on other countries to defend Japan. Mr. Abe and Japan Inc. should change and become a nuke armed country. I think that you will find that not too many neighbors will start complaining about past history. Japan must be on equal footing with China and North Korea. Couple of ICBMs aimed towards those countries should shut them up.

The problem with Japan is they can't make or produce something good at a price that they average household can afford. Now, you try my home state of Texas and I can bet you can have a good steak everyday without going broke. So Japan can keep the millionaire's Kobe beef but don't mess with Texas beef steak.

Abe-kun you know how the parting start. Slowly, just like a rebuke. One should NEVER completely rely on a friend to defend your small island home, especially one without natural resources. The time has come for you to copy Israel and produce nuclear weapons to include ICBM. I tell you, if you had nukes, China and North Korea will not be making noises about history lessons. End of discussion. Try it. Be the Man.

What a bunch of crock. Abe's shrine visit is a step towards conflict (armed). Abe should do what he thinks is right and not worry that his neighbors feelings are hurt.

Be the man Mr Abe. Japan should do what is right. Honoring soldiers killed for the serving their country is a must for any nation. We must not condone illegal actions or war crimes, but we should honor soldiers' service to the country.

PRC can only blame their opium heads for the massive military build-up; can't have one-sided military build-up without getting the gander up with the neighbors. Glad to hear that JMSDF will purchase submarines. Hopefully the MSDF can count on the USN to share the underwater listening posts on real time basis. The PRC navy will not be able to leave their shallow costal waters without being detected. The whole coast line of China is shallow waters.
