Just think if the US would put the 40% tarrif on Chinese goods that many econimists say there currency is estemated at being held below its actual value. Then we woudl see some real changes.

Ricky the fact is that if the US did not open China its economy would never have begun. It would still be an isolated closed society which it was at the time of Nixon. If it was not for US’s active engagement policy China would not be where it is today and that is the plain facts, whether you can bring yourself to admit to that fact or not.
While millions of Chinese are getting up going to work every morning making the goods we need and demand here in the US for everyday living, we have millions staying at home here in the US because they are not going to work making the goods our population needs and demands for everyday living. All these goods are being made somewhere else instead of the demand being met here at home, which has broken the cycle. More people usually means more demand for products and more production, but not when the needs are met by production being done in another country by other people. The same in Europe, which was also a disaster as Europe was said that the high tech industry would make up for their industrial losses, which has proven not to have taken place.
As China has developed so has the demand for energy, especially oil, has taken a toll on everyone’s earning especially here in the US where all that you claim we have saved by cheap China goods has been very well made up for in everything that is purchased involving oil which starts from the very basics of the make up of every item.,along with the shipping of anything to do with an item starting from raw materials being shipped and retracted to the shipment of the finished product itself. Plus the very expense to everyone right at the gas pump because of the demand of oil which has been right from the cause of China’s economic rise that has hit directly on the people. Then lets go down further on the list with, heat their homes, cool their homes, and on and on and on.. So your words are foolish and pure nonsense when you can only see to the tip of your nose and not the whole picture. Many try and argue the cheap goods BS, as they wish to forget all were that cheap goods savings went elsewhere, including the jobs!!! The only ones that has gained from this mess has been China and India, those that have all our jobs and are exporting more than that they are importing and that needs to end! O do not know where you are from but I do know your view has taken the shape of many before you when it comes to cheap goods over an imbalance on trade and the increased costs of every other item we are buying including the so called cheap Chinese goods that has also taken a hike because of the rise in energy costs as well. The cycle does not just stop because of cheap goods out of China my dear friend.
And your comment to Athletes is way off as well. The crisis that has taken place here is due to the fact of the issue stated above. Costs from 4 years ago to this time has put people in such a bind that they can not afford what they could four years ago because of the rise in the cost of living mainly due to the dramatic rise in energy costs that has taken its toll on everything plus the prime intrest rate that went from 5 1/2% to 12 1/2 %. You have a very twisted view of this or just do not take in all the information. It is you that wants to blame it on everyone else instead of the actual causes. These people could afford their homes and their life styles at that time, it was not their faults the circumstances took such a dramatic change as many , including yourself seem to want to put the blame on the people instead of the circumstances that lead to their demise. Ha then you want to blame the people that are loosing everything they have worked for. That is pethetic!!!!
And Athletes you are also wrong that is was an unravaling of a few weeks .. As we heard in the campaigns , which I see you have no idea about, two years ago the information was there where many seen that some action was needing taken and no one took any action that would have stopped the continual degrading of the finacial institues..

rickyso... Again many want to forget the beginnings of China's rise.. Nixon!!!!!!! The jerk Nixon.. Active engagement ring any bells with you.. I guess not. From that point on US engaged with the openning of China.. Like it or not , that is a fact in history! I see you do not like it and you want to blow it off as nothing as many wish to do or try to ignore or avoid.. I find that halarious from those that wish to believe that China was just al of a sudden some country that gave itself the power to grow. That is not the case by all means. Just 2 years ago if China's exports were to stop, China would have collapsed, another well published fact.
But I do like to hear the BS on China's position and how it got there.. Remeber Tianamen??? That in itself was said to have set China's growth back by about three years or more because the engagement was not popular after they killed all those students and labor workers. But Keep on humoring me, like you just can not understand my point and the facts .hahaha

Miussles of missle defense.. Missles to shoot down missiles.. Seems some are taking like these are missles of attack or of offensive purpose. THey are not. Russia's are.. so maybe if that is the case it is time to put some real missles in Poland and the surrounding area to counter Russia's move, real as in offensive missiles to counter Russia's offensive missles.

wolfpack redistributing money is all what the government does with taxes. From all its spending as the money is collected, it is distributed out and yes to many social programs. I see nothing wrong with rolling back tax breaks to the wealthy, as many have stated, especially for large corporations, the number of loop holes in the tax system makes the most highly taxed pay nothing at the end of the year, as we are talking corporations. Plus there has always been different tax brackets and probably always will unless we go to some flat tax system. So why do you make such a ramp about what we already have and have had from the beginning? And I see Obama as right when it comes to these tax breaks for corporations making historic profits as the majority suffers and at the same time using these profits and investing it overseas, such as in CHina putting those people to wok instead of people here in the US where they are making all their record breaking profits..
This is an argument that will never end because too many look at this issue from all different sides and come to different conclusion as final result. I am for helping companies and businesses here that create jobs here, not for those moving employment to another country making billions as they ship their items back to us that are sitting home unemployed because foreign hands are making the items we need instead of our own people going to work every morning producing the goods we use.
The rich getting richer and the poor getting poor. A larger divide between rich and poor. .Time to get some balance back within our society .

I myself do not trust China in the least. History has proven that the CCP will sacrifice anything and everything including its own peoples lives by the 100's of millions to acquire and satisfy its appetite for power. US has been a fool to engage and build China to what it is today, what is a shame is that not one of these politicians running for president her in the US still supports this same stance with China in supporting its enlargement which is aimed directly at us here in the US.. Not to hard to see millions getting up every morning in China going to work to load our shelves down with products while millions has lost their jobs here in the US and the economy of China booming while we are in recession. Is something not too clear here or what? There are many countries around the world the US could be trading with and on a equal basis that are not building a military aimed directly at us, but would put more focus on becoming closer to us as a reliable ally. There is the Philippines, Malaysia and on and on, many southeast Asian nations we could be dealing more directly with where the people would be very appreciatable and societies needing uplifted that see us as their friend. Same with South America and central America. One other right on our border. Mexico where Mexicans come across the border looking for jobs that so many are so angry about illegals from Mexico crossing the border because of lack of jobs. US has many avenues besides putting so much into China. Then of course there is India that the US is trying to encourage as a counter to China, but at the same time we are the responsible party for creating China’s power and economy. It is like fighting against ourselves. China would not be anything today if it was not for dummy Nixon’s start of the “Active Engagement Policy” that has been carried on ever since.

A person can be successful making under 250,000... 5,000 dollars a week.. Damn I feel sort of trash and one of the unsuccesful..
Who are you guys trying to kid?
THose that make 250.000 or more a year can live just as mighty with a 2% tax increase as they did before and those making under can live even better than they did in the past. Plus we hear we are the highest taxer of the world when it comes to large corporations, but on the other hand it is fact that there are so many loop hole s that these large corporations are lucky to pay any taxes what so ever in the end. You can break it down as much as you wish, but Obama’s goal is to side with the common people of the middle class that go to work everyday trying to provide their families a living, and trying to give them a break on taxes, while those with excess will not be hurt in the process, as many wish to try and overstate the negative impact which is NONE!
The only negative any of you have is he is a Democrat, or the racism factor that he is black. Die hard republicans will never change while those in the middle will vote for what is right instead of blindly casting a ballot.
Those against Obama's economic plan, Hey can I borrow some of your 250.000 or higher dollar incomes??? hahaha
I find anyone that is against this plan to be either filthy rich in debt to there ass living in a fantasy and have nothing but greed imbedded in their souls. When someone stands for give more to the rich and less to those less fortunate, I find that a moral issue. But hey we all have our down sides as a individual.

why is there so many blind to facts and numbers as McCain wants to put out misleading statements, and actual lies about taxes? Oh everyone, I mean everyone will see higher taxes by Obama. That is BS and anyone with any common sense what so ever and that can UNDERSTAND ENGLISH has heard from the Obama political commercials, public speeches has heard where tax increases were going to occur, or accually would be be tax incentives taken away, and also should have heard what groups would benefit from tax decreases.. I would love to go person to person and ask each, what is your annual net income,, and I must stress "NET INCOME", not gross profits as I am very accustom to from having a small business for the last 32 years myself, and consider it being very successful, but never hit the 250,000 dollar net profit mark, which would have made me fall into a decrease in my taxes with Obama. This is to say that the majority of the population would be standing on the same side as myself, and I believe if you have listened to anything coming out of the Obama camp , you would have also understood the percentage of the people going to fall into the bracket of a tax break is ... 9 5 % and those that have received a tax break by Bush that do not need it or have not used it to create jobs over the last eight years would loss what they were given by Bush , at the time McCain argued was irresponsible and now uses it opposite of his position at that time , what a frggin joke. What a jerk and what a liar and as many republicans in the past have done, including Bush, will say anything and everything to get himself into office based on lies and deception. The bad part about it is,, these blinded people listen to these lies and deceptive statements and believe them as truths, which would be very funny if so much was not at stake, but these little followers will cast a vote putting these ruthless people that worship money and wealth over national security and national interests. Here we are again, eight years later, just as the shape we were in at the end of Reagan and Bush Sr. in over our heads in debt!!!!!!! But now with an economy that matches the great depression.. Yeah go republicans!!!!!
Also this Joe the Pummer crap! He is thinking of buying a business but does not make 250,000 now? hahha This idiot is a little republican brownie that him himnself would at this time benifit from Obama's tax plan, and probably would have his entire life. Plus I have not heard if this business would net him 250,000 a year and if it did he could pay 36% tax instead of the current 34%. I am sure we all could live and strive on that amount of income even with a 2% tax increase. But I know we all have greed emmbedded in us. Old Joe the plummer is a joke!
Nice you guys stand for such blinded ignorance! Just look around you! Eight years later ,,,and let us not forget... everything that goes into policy has to pass the desk of the president that has veto power so you can not blame no one other than the guy holding the veto pen! That was Bush Jr., Bush Sr., Reagan! All drove us down the same road, Debt up to our asses, and beyond this time with Bush Jr. .
Also who can argue over taking away tax breaks for those going overseas and giving incentives to those that stay here investing in the US instead of only looking at their own wealth and forgetting their origins. This is another positive from Obama and a stance that should have never even been into question and never should.
Many need to wake up and look further than just the lies thrown in their faces and take it as some sort of distorted truth. One should not be afraid of something different or afraid of change, especially with where we stand as a country today with policies that has been degrading us for many years, even beyond Mr. give everything away Bush and others before him that contributed to the give away.
We need something new, something different and the only words that has any sense of determination and commitment within his voice, plus a steady hard fast message and tone from the beginning for a different direction has been from the mouth of Barack Obama. Not like McCain saying anything and everything , going from this to that just , twisting every statement into just outright lies just to get votes from those that will believe in anything a republican politician will say. He is a typical republican politician from the corrupted system in Washington and has been one since his very beginning which has been something like 26 years. A total insider and yes he does have experience in the terms of putting this country in the shape it is right now.
I know some republicans have opened their eyes to the truth, but there seems to be many more that would like to go forward blinded by plain denial of the facts that are right here staring them in the face and in the news 24 hours every day.

Wow , so many posts to read within a day’s time.. Nippon 5 From what has went on in the last eight years, I feel fine as to show support for someone different, and of a different view of the future, because the direction the GOP has taken us has left us right where we are today and that is not good. McCain has been in politics much longer than Obama and as the record shows his standing with Bush as like his second child as his voting record has been…. 90 or 94 percent with Bush??? Now look where we are today.
I sure the hell would not stand on his views of the future. Sure he walks and talks the ideas that Obama has stated long before this time of the election, but who has stood ground on the issues of economy, energy, healthcare, 401Ks etc etc. Maybe he is just one person, but you may forget or try and deny it, but the rest of the politicians as well will come up for re-election and they as well could be changed. You have to start from some place in the system, so why not start with the one that holds the veto pen in his hand? Someone that looks to the future in a different perspective that concentrates on the middle class and the lower class that are the ones that are hurting across the country.. I see Obama being something different, fresh, and new which I find much better of a choice than someone that has all the backing of the large corporations that is funding his campaign and which I see as having a monopoly on business more than as you have described as free enterprise. When only a few hold the power of regulating their own profits, that is a monopoly, not free enterprise and in such cases, they need over sight so they stop ripping all of us off!!!!! Free enterprise needs competition, if there is none then it is a monopoly and because so many big corporations have no competition they are holding a monopoly as they keep running down the numbers of smaller companies as they keep being bought out or having to close down.
I am disappointed in both candidates as for neither one really has concentrated on our 700 billion dollar trade deficit and the building of the economy of China , where all of our goods are produced, and compared to our economy that has gone sour and jobs are gone and continually going overseas and no one doing anything about it. We build others to double digit grown figures as we support them buy importing their products and giving other the opportunities to get up out of bed to go to work to make our goods we need instead of our own people getting up to go to work to make the goods we need.. Plus we are supporting those that see us as their future threat and building their militaries to the max to face us.. There is a real conflict of interest here!!!! McCain always talks about free trade and global economy, and I see we need to balance trade and put the brakes on trade with those that just use us and their policies do not fall in line with our own… I am hoping this is where Obama may step up to the plate, because I am definitely sure Bush’s buddy McCain will not. We need changes and McCain is not one of those that will produce changes because he is an insider that has just went along with the status quo that has brought us to this point.. Obama is a fresh view.

hahah It is funny to hear that McCain Palin is the way for the future.. It does not matter about debates , it does not matter who sounded like what. The facts are we have had the GOP in control for the last two elections (Last Eight years) and we are totally screwed today. Those that would even consider putting these idiots back in another term are living on a different planet.
Want to talk deficits, leave that to Bush Jr., Bush Sr. , Ronald Reagan...
Want to talk international standing, Talk Bush Jr. and our lowest standing in the world since who knows when. Hey where are all our supportive allies in the world today???
This country needs radical changes made and a direction completely opposite the last eight years and even beyond that including Clintons years as well because of his trade policies that had just continued with Bush Jr. and also a continuation with Clinton from previous administrations that has just added to the degrading of our economy and stance in world opinion.
Obama is the only hope the US has in making the changes needed to get the US back as a power and partner of our allies and a country to be looked up to because of our basic ideals that has been politically squandered away out of greed and big corporate interests that has been the main focus of the decisions made that has brought us down to NOTHING!!!!!
What is sad is for some here to look at this in some sort of unrealistic world that does not exist and think more of the same is best as to move forward.. What the heck is wrong with such people??????? Like those of communist China saying hey.. we love China and will support our leaders no matter if we are kept silent or what ever they want to do to us... That is the mentality I see with those that want to side with those that have taken us to our lowest standing in decades! You people deserve to be tossed a bone or doggy treat!
This country needs some drastic changes in direction and the only one that has the real incentive is Obama, he believes in what he says and is determined to make it happen. Those of you who are set in your ways and have been convinced that we are doomed by the rhetoric of national security fears the republican party has played on for so many years now.. do not be afraid… because the largest attack did happen with Bush in office and as his administration ignored Clintons warnings about Alquada and also ignored intelligence reports of about the time period when and how the attack would be carried out.. Now they believe they are the protectors ?????What a friggin joke!!!! The real joke is on those that have eaten this BS up and believe them!
Vote for something different….Vote Obama-Biden!!!!!!

Alot of opinionated people here. So I guess I will throw in a bit.. If the people of Iran vote in some radical as president, what ever happens to Iran and its people are of their own fault. If it is taking out Iran by force , it is the Iranian people that has asked for it and as for nuclear armed Iran, no way should it happen even if it means to take them out by force. We can send missiles in , bunker busters, the new advanced ones. what will Iran do? Test our defensive missile systems in the area??? That is all they can do. We would be doing nothing on ground in Iran , just annihilating their nuclear facilities and taking out their missiles they will try and launch against who ever... I would say Americans in Iraq and Israel and both should be pretty well prepared to take out Iran’s missiles
Iran another outreach of China and Russia…it is time we do something about all of these nations that are against our own values and stop making them so rich and powerful and that is all we have done over the last 20 years with China and maybe 6 years with Russia These are the countries that have emboldened Iran and at the same time we support them. We do have one screwed up government and as well , screwed up allies that are doing the same. All because one thinks the other may get a bigger piece of the pie and at the same time putting everyone at risk .
And all this about who is holding our debt BS is just that. Those holding our debt would not even be in a position to do so if it was not for the basics of us enabling them to do so by opening up markets to them and investments of our greedy corporations and politicians in the past and of today as it is still going on. We have brought all of this on ourselves by engaging and supporting rogue regimes and that is in direct context as in describing communist China and Mr. KGB Putin as these two are supporting Iran, N. Korea

nderstand this delay very well. The economy is the no. 1 issue in this election. The republican party has let the economy dwindle on a non -ending spiral down to nothing and right at this very time the worse scenario has arrived concerning the economy that the republican leadership has created, McCain would want to be seen around the world by an audience supposedly going to be bigger than the viewers of the super bowl, see one of the culprits of these times in America as the worst since how long?? I really do not know that time length but it has been many many years now and all based on republican fundamentals over the last eight years. McCain is just trying to wait out for the bail out so attention is not so feverously focused on the republican party's misguided policies that brought us to this point in time. If he can wait after the bail out then he can say we have corrected the problem with our actions and the stupid people that back him will take it all in as "good job, well done", crap and these die hard republicans will believe it as we see some that still go back 12 - 145 years ago and blame it on those that held office and just demandingly put their hearts and sole in that twisted belief.. McCain does not want to go country wide showing his face at a time like this when the country is at the brink of total collapse because of the party he belongs to. Now lets see if the polls taken shows even a larger gap as it should between the two candidates. I still believe the people of America will some to their senses and Obama will take this election by much greater percentage of votes than those thinking it will be a close race. People are not that dumb.. well except for the state I am from back four years ago here in Ohio. Ohio lost more jobs than any state in the country during Bush’s first four years. When it was reported that the election was going to be decided by Ohio, I thought Bush did not stand a chance because of the job loss….But was I wrong!!!!! The stupid majority of people in Ohio went for Bush!!!!!!!! Unbelievable I must say. At least at this time there is a majority in the polls showing Ohio is leaning favorable for Obama and very rightfully so, but it is not over, there are a lot of misguided people in my state and we have not heard much about Obama from our new democrat governor Strickland in support for Obama like we heard him with his support for Hilary. That could have some impact on Ohio’s voters since he seems to be well liked by the public, even being a democrat. We shall see…..

yes sez this is dumb to continue an arguement when you and I will never see eye to eye on the issue, Just as Russia does not see eye to eye with The US Europe or any other western democracy or those that are western allies even Australia. Seems there are not too many that stands with you and Russia on this point. Even China wich I demise stays silent on this issue because of the well deserved sepratists that could benifit in that country from what Russia is standing for there in Georgia. Russia is not getting much support from any where except from those that are threats to democracies around the world still today. Like a new Warsaw pact but with out the democratic Warsaw of today, but same idiology of that group in the past.
