“I’m aware that many people are opposed to the plan, as public polls show,” he told a parliamentary committee, promising to explain the increase to the public.

Such huge projects should be submitted to vote to the population.

    Direct democracy, like in Switzerland.

If the population says yes, go ahead. Otherwise, pay it with your own money, not mine.

The Olympic Games are a megalomaniac and futile project from Abe.

The government and Abe don't care what the population wants.

illyas: career wise/salary wise, for the same competency, women are still discriminated against.

We are living still in a patriarchal society. Your comment proves it.

Using 'she' is fine but Neuwirth (his real name) uses it only when playing Wurst character. Yes, a character...

'... were convicted of abducting Isogai with the intention of robbing her. They then killed her to prevent her from testifying against them. '

Wasting a human life for a little bit of money.

    Well deserved.

If she did really mailed it to herself, she knew she would have problems if the meds were to be found in her luggage.

Therefore, she knew it was tightly controlled.

In my opinion, she deserves what is happening.

I wonder what will happen if they find anything in Toyota office. Also, Japanese police is always slow to go search places. "We give a head start, OK?"

Let see the power of Toyota at work here. The common pleb would spend 21 days minimum in detention and potentially finally deported.

My guess is that nothing is going to happen. Invoke a honest mistake and released. In worst case, she'll get fired for having Toyota in the news with a drug related offense.

Turkey has done little or virtually didn't do anything to stop people crossing their border to join ISIS or to stop weapon shipments.

It in their interest to let ISIS occuoy the region and get a hold on the Kurds.

The Kurds are after their independance for a long time now and they are going to proclaim it once they have got rid off ISIS from their territory.

The West has been shy to help them as they want Turkey to help fight ISIS.

See a new war coming and the West turning a blind eye because they agreed with Turkey not get involved.

All we will hear is that this an internal problem, blablabla...

    Ahhhh, humanity...

One sick girl. As a minor, she'll get a reformatory sentence then released in the wild again. She should be put down. It's not possible to have such kind of people roaming the streets freely.

Hmm... I find this rather strange. While I accept some people have cultural/ethnicity relations with the DPRK, nobody in their right mind would support this regime...

What is the strategy from the West here, now?

Get Assad deposed and then try to deal with IS? Another foreign invasion maybe?

It was very foolish and to finance and arm the FSA.
