    Lunchmeat,

    It isn't "rich"; it's true.

Get that cough looked at, boy; you seem to be choking on your own words.

At least now we have a President who gets prizes thrown at him instead of shoes!

Aren't the leftists even a bit embarrassed by their schoolgirl giddiness about Obama receiving this award?

Absolutely not! What you hatefully call "schoolgirl giddiness" we rightlfully call "American Pride". Refer to my 12:55 am post.

That's it... Nobel Peace Prize is now a useless and meaningless thing...

ROTFLMAO! That's like calling the Super Bowl a useless and meaningless thing simply because your team lost! Would you like me to pass you a Kleenex? xD

Look at this way, gang. Instead of seeing Obama as the winner for freeing America from bush and insuring McCain never puts his finger on the "big red button", we could see ourselves as the winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, as a country. This old world is finally starting to recognize the achievement of the vast majority of Americans throwing off the yoke of the bush reich and duly electing a President who's actually interested in world peace.

And to the right-wingnut naysayers, I say cheer up; winning isn't everything, be it an election or a Nobel Peace Prize. But it sure is nice! xD

Our perception of history tends to start from the day we are born.

And it continues through many years of experience and wisdom.

Tigermoth You could not possibly be more wrong. george w bush is far more than just a "whipping boy"; he's the worst "president" in American history, who succeeded in doing nothing but making the US the most execrated nation on this planet. By contrast, President Obama's efforts to garner world peace won him the unanimous decision of the Nobel board to award him the Prize. Steering us away from the precipice towards which the bush regime inarguably was driving America is enough to justify this award, for which I and any good American wholeheartedly congratulate him.

No, I won't stop bashing bush and his crimes; there's no reason to stop and every reason to not forget the horrors of his reign. We can't afford to let someone like bush anywhere near the White House ever again. To that end, I won't forget him, nor will I let my children forget him.

Moderator: Yes, you will stop bashing Bush on this thread. He is not relevant to this discussion.

RRII: You're trolling, again. You have absolutely no proof that Obama's speech was amended in any way.

    We, The People, won.

We sure did, when we elected Barack Hussein Obama President of the United States of America! xD

You've obviously mistaken the US military for someone else's. In the US military, we have the Privacy Act. I work with it all the time in my job.

Sailwind - Force my kids to hear Obama's words? LOL! How about "allowing my kids to hear Obama's words and making up their own minds instead of being piss-scared of Obama for no rational reason"?

I want my kids to grow up open-minded, tolerant, and patriotic, therefore, I want them to hear the words of a truly great American, President of the United States of America Barack Obama. The rest of you can do as you please. Let me know how it works out.

Some conservatives, driven by radio pundits and bloggers, are urging schools and parents to boycott the address. They say Obama is using the opportunity to promote a political agenda and is overstepping the boundaries of federal involvement in schools.

The right wing-nuts have truly scraped the bottom of the barrel with this one. No good educator or parent would deny their child an opportunity to hear a message directed towards promoted thier education. It's certainly not like past Presidents haven't done the same thing; where was bush when 9/11 happened? Wasn't it (gasp!) a school? Checking... yeah, it was!

Quit teaching your kids intolerance, close-mindedness, and racism. Let them hear the duly and fairly elected President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama. Better yet, be there to hear it with them. Some of you could stand to learn just as much as your kids.

Jokes about murdering a President are not funny, regardless of his policies. They weren't funny when cracks were made about Bush, and they aren't ok now when they're made about Obama.

Thank you, sincerely, for this statement. You and I often disagree, but on this point, we're in total agreement.

I do believe "ObamaCare" is going to happen in some shape or form. It's what America wants; it's one of the many reasons we elected Obama. The challenge for Obama now is making sure the American public is given the facts of the Senate/House bills, unfettered by radical, emotional garbage spewed by the Republicans to "fire up" their ever-diminishing supporters. These "supporters" have simply chosen to hate Obama, not for his policies, but for his color, or his party, or simply for sour grapes at losing the election to him. Once Americans have the facts (which have been available online for quite some time, now), I can easily see overwhelming support for the new health care plan. Then, all the trash about "government supported abortions", "public taxes for illegal immigrants' health care", and "death panels" can finally be seen as Republican lies; in fact, these things were disproven within a day of being said in the first place, just like the ridiculous "birther" movement. Clear the garbage, look at the facts, and get ready for vastly improved health care in America under President Obama's tenure.

Another challenge is the transparent attempt by the Republicans to push Obama into acting unilaterally (i.e. with only the Democrats). Inarguably, the Repub tactic is to make Obama pass legislation without the Republicans so the Repubs can cry "Despotism! Dictatorship!" for the 2010 elections. Again, typical Republican bad defense and lack of offense, but still a public relations concern.

    SuperLib:

What exactly is it you're adding to the discussion, USAF?

I'm adding my opinion, as well as my support for President Obama. Last time I checked, it was still OK to express my views. Sorry if you're unable to shout me down.

    Sarge:

Hey, USAFdude, why do you suppose only 42% of Americans support Obama's health care program?

Because the other 58% can't get cogent information about the plan due to the loonies' "shoutdowns". Once these Republican fearmongering idiots grow up and let others' voices be heard (i.e. democracy), you'll see President Obama's approval rating for the health care plan soar. Bets, anyone?

Personally. I like Obama and support him on this issue. However, your statement is ridiculous. There are many good people who are against his plan for various reasons.

Then let's hear those "reasons" without the fearmongering, hatemongering, and blatant denial of others' democratic rights to be heard. Take your time...
