the President has no say over what the Army will do there guy.

The President is our Commander-in-Chief. He has FINAL say over what the Army (and the Navy, Air Force, and Marines) will do anywhere in the world.

You want to make it end sooner there guy? Them sign up for the army there guy and stop being a cowardly liberal/European there guy.

    Practice what you preach. www.goarmy.com www.navy.com www.airforce.com www.marines.com

Put down the bong, there guy. Sheesh.

Wow, it's easy to get under your skin, isn't it, kid? OK, here we go!

therefore I can say that what were GW's plans are now Obama's plans

Your words, not mine. Do try to remember what you've already written before you post things like:

And please enlighten me on how GITMO has ANYTHING to do with economic matters.

    Next:

The Surge: You mean the one that worked? Come on, you've got to have a better example than that.

Nope, I don't have to. Once again, your own words:

And if I'm not mistaken wasn't Obama in the Senate when these procedures were put into place, so I can go right ahead and make the leap of logic that Obama gets to share in the responcibility.

Just because Obama was in the Senate does not mean he supported everything bush did. Frankly, there is no better example than the surge.

If you think that protection is the same as control then you are the same as every right winged nut job that you so vehemently bash on.

Expound on this. Now. Don't just sling reactionary insults at me, kid.

My age: In what world is age a measure of intelligence or wisedom? According to that logic you should have voted for John McCain or Ron Paul.

"Wisedom"? You've laughably addressed your own question! And by the way, I voted for Obama because he was the best candidate, not due to his age (or lack thereof); in your case, you're showing immaturity in accordance with your age (or lack thereof).

No need for me to go any further. Take care!

And one other thing, Question -

    by the time I'm 30

    in the same post as

Somewhere along the line we lost sight of that truth (somewhere in the late 60's me thinks).

LOL! Please, by all means, enlighten us all with your "20-something" expertise on world matters and life experience! While you're at it, could you at least learn how to spell?

responcibility, severly, privet [twice!], aformentioned, foreward, extreamist

    Sheesh!

TheQuestion - Oh Question, Question, Question, where to begin...

Keeping that in mind I have seen nothing presently that would indicate that Obama is reversing any of the aformentioned plans, therefore I can say that what were GW's plans are now Obama's plans.

So closing Gitmo isn't a present indication of reversing bush's plans, huh? I'd love to hear your spin ahem, excuse me, opinion on that. I, for one, see the closing of Gitmo as but one reversal of bush's policies.

And if I'm not mistaken wasn't Obama in the Senate when these procedures were put into place, so I can go right ahead and make the leap of logic that Obama gets to share in the responcibility.

Well, at least you're right that Obama was in the Senate when these procedures were put into place; doesn't mean he supported them. Ever hear of the "surge"?

Government exists to protect people and property, not to make money, not to regulate, not to stimulate, and not to control.

How does government "protect people and property" if it doesn't "regulate, stimulate, and control"? Isn't that sort of what we elect them to do? By the way, with America being a democracy and all, we could just vote out government leaders if we don't like what they're doing - sort of like we did last November. Could it be that Republicans don't fear "big government" so much as accountability to the government, the people, and the law?

We cannot allow this to happen in America.

Don't worry; we're not going to.

    rollonarte -

their opponents or the working public (okay, yeah, I guess I repeat myself there...)

Nope. The working public are the ones who elected Barack Hussein Obama President of the United States. You are the opposition, you are growing weaker by the day, and America has already defeated you as we do all our enemies.

Molenir - that wasn't even a good attempt on your part. I've backed you into a corner... again!

    Wow, that was hard.

For you, it definitely was too much to handle. I have listened to Limbaugh and I judge him to be completely and provably wrong - same as I judge you.

Molenir - another swing and a miss from you! I listen to Limbaugh at least once a week, and I am quite well-versed with the sh*t he spews. This is how we good Americans keep tabs on the radical right fringe hate-groups.

A challenge to you: show me one, just one, indication of Obama attempting to turn America into a real socialist state (requiring you to know the definition of socialism). No smartass comments, no lame attempts at funny one-liners; keep the discussion civil like the long-suffering moderators here at JT so desperately hope will become the norm for JT.

tkoind2 - your 10:01 am post is quite possibly the best post I've ever read on JT. The only thing I'd add is to remember that the American people elect their leaders freely; why bother if we expect them to sit back and let the rich exploit the working/middle classes and do nothing about it, like the Republicans?

I highly favor a Democratic government like that of the freely and democratically-elected President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama that will hold the wealthy accountable for their actions.

Again, great post; I'm making sure my children read it as well.

Tatanka - you're a Republican fearmonger who, as such, is engaging in exactly the same manipulative crap your god Drugrush Limbaugh so desperately wants to imagine President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama does. You are totally incapable of backing up your above statement, and in fact, I challenge whether you actually believe your statement yourself. Your statement is either racially-motivated, shameless party politics over the welfare of America, or both. You are a perfect example of why the Republican "party" has had its ass handed to it for the past two elections and will continue to do so in '10, '12, and beyond.

So my message to you and your ilk is... (wait for it)...

KEEP IT UP! You guys are hilarious! We true Americans (i.e. Democrats) need something to laugh at, in between bouts of fretting over fixing bush's mess!

    sailwind -

Maybe you should listen to our President about our Military.

Here's a better idea: Listen to our military about our military. Basically, most of my USAF colleagues say the following:

    1) Iraq was never a threat to the US, so Iraq is no prize, either.

    2) Because Iraq is such a non-issue, bush has scored no "victory" with his decision to invade Iraq. That some people think we've "liberated" Iraq is a moot point; Iraq is in no position to either help or harm the US. Their "liberation" means nothing to anyone outside their own borders.

    3) Afghanistan is and always has been the more important issue. Afghanistan is where the Taliban aided and abetted Osama bin Laden, who after masterminded 9/11, is still at large. OBL's continued freedom is a defeat to bush and a humiliation to Americans, especially the victims of 9/11 and their loved ones.

    4) President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama is and always has been morally and strategically correct in his view that Afghanistan is the larger issue. Refer to number 3.

    5) bush is a disgrace to America; Obama is a President we can trust, and we're thankful for his great decision-making abilities, his rightful election, and the support of the true Americans who elected him.

At least the money has a better chance of being used for the taxpayers' benefit under the States' respective governors than under bush's idiotic tax brakes for the rich.

President Obama says he wants to cut the deficit in half by 2013. He'll need the Republicans' help to do that.

Then the Republicans need to get with the American program. It may take longer than 2013 for President Obama to halve the defecit without Republican support, but then, if it takes longer, Americans can rightfully blame the Republicans for delaying the process. It's not like we can't do it at all with the Republicans. Hell, the Republicans have ceased being a viable party and become more of a fringe group; no one cares what the Republicans think anymore! LOL!

The so-called "cowardly points" are certainly not unique to America. For a (still) mostly white voting populace to elect a black man President of the United States is a dozen huge steps forward in race relations in America; that incredible milestone absolutely cannot be downplayed.
