Well, I guest that answers the question as far as you're concerned:

"Sooooo... How's that Obama thing workin' out for ya?"

Overwhelmin'ly and generally speakin', I don't think we human beans learn from the past at all.

There are two events that do come to mind though, one occurin' on 6 August 1945 and one occurin' on 9 August 1945.

"Why are American blacks going crazy over this story?"

I think Mister Woods is half Asian, and way less than half 'black' when you look into his daddy's heritage.

Now Mister Woods has gone and married a white woman who's paler than the Ice Queen in Narnia.

I think that frustrates a lotta folks who realize they'll never be able to top this.

Maybe Americans are having trouble accepting that Japanese have lots of other priorities apart from their relationship with the USA, but it happens to be true.

Of course Americans accept that. What a silly, unnecessary anti-American post. Someboddy shoot me...

    Heh, heh... daft.

AK, I agree with you that MJ - like many people of wealth - shopped for someone who could write prescriptions upon any request. I doubt one of those preprequisites was bein' 'black' though.

AK, that doesn't constitute 'premeditated murder' although I'll bet in my nation she'd probably be charged with 'grossly negligent homicide' or a homicide due to 'indifference to human life'... if she's charged at all.

I don't know the woman but I'll bet she's like many women I know who're hooked on Pachinko and hannafuda. Their mind goes somewhere else while they obsessively focus their attention on these kinds of gambling.

It's interestin' to see you're in to prisoner abuse and torture. I'm sure you're not one of those fellas that has a problem with Gitmo.

    That's unfortunate.

In Hawaii, we put them out on weekends in very public places cleaning up any kind of graffiti. It's a lesson for many would-be vandals.

Usually highschoolers although, yes, some highschoolers in their twenties never grew up...

On its surface, this isn't premeditated murder.

You have to prove intent to kill.

Unless she confessed a plan prior to this event, you got a long row to hoe before chargin' anyone with 'premeditated murder'.

We already got everything on you up to this moment in time when I hit 'Submit' on this thread.

Heh, heh... Nevermind, Nixon. Ya just don't know what is already known.

A.D.D. ... A Republican may be a conservative, but a someone who's conservative is not always a Republican.

Libertarians in my nation are much closer to bein' 'Republicans' than 'Democrats'. When the creators of South Park said they 'hated' Republicans I thought, "Oh, sheesh... here we go...", but then they immediately followed that up with '... but we hate Democrats more'? Why? Check out how they hammer pseudo science on global warmin', second-hand smoke, liberal Scientologists... They're no fan of a nanny state led by ignorant people who let their emotions dictate their behaviors.

On Kennedy... I only made one comment on 'homicide'. Your team leached on to that and wouldn't let it go in lame attempts to rehabilitate the memory of someone they didn't really give two shites about until his death put him on a JT thread.

A.D.D. I'm libertine on a number of issues. For example, I don't care that you're homersexual. As long as you and your buds keep the noise down after ten, I don't care. I'm too busy postin' on JT with you.

GD, of course representatives of foreign powers took note of the clown who outed his wife as a member of the American intelligence community well before 'Novak'.

    Do you imagine otherwise?

Why are you obsessed and so enraged on this and other topics? You'll do yourself an injury in the real world if you haven't already. I'd bet you have.

my assertion that no leader of Republicians has ever shown cowardice

So what's your point other than to imply that because Kennedy was a proven coward, it's not so bad because others are cowards, too?

What kind of rationale is that? What does it have to do with Kennedy.

...and who implies that there is no cowardly behavior on his side of the political spectrum?

Yabits, again with the strawman argument. I never brought this up; you did. I never argued for or against it; you did.

Yabits, in this incident alone, Teddy proved himself a coward twice:

Once when the deserted this human bean, and twice when he used the legal system - as is his absolute right - to escape justice.

    Coward.

Mary Jo Kopechne, age 29, was an adult at the time, and presumably able to discern whether her intended driver was overly intoxicated.

Yabits, you presume a whole lot.

Not unless it can be shown that divers could have been dispatched to the scene in sufficient time to have prevented Ms. Kopechne from drowning.

Yabits, you know you're really reachin' to the point of outright silliness, right?
