Hilarious - Bush is now the most socialist president that the US has had since FDR. Seems to have forgotten that capitalism means assuming the risk, not just taking the profits. As some pundit said - people seem to have forgotten that in capitalism you need hell, not just heaven.

Agree with the many comments that most pop music sucks in any country, though maybe more than average in Japan, and pop music never means that a country lacks musical talent. I like some of the older J music more, even going back to stuff like Kyu Sakamoto and Momoe Yamaguchi. Shiina Ringo is some good modern stuff, and of course Shonen Knife had some great tunes.

I'd mention the fact that I have my own enclosed office, with an actual door for privacy, bigger than some Japanese hotel rooms I've stayed at, and I can even open the window, but that would make it very obvious that I don't work in Japan.
