i think that was the direction the peace process was moving until Hamas put the brakes on it and went back to killing and terrorizing Israelis.
Its clear the world will find the money to rebuild Gaza and support the Palestinians in every way possible, they just need to turn their backs on violence.
The two state solution provides both the Palestinian and Israeli the right to self determination within their own national borders and both would be expected to coexist peacefully.

Whole-heartedly agree with conservation and totally on board with alternative energy solutions but you are berating me for something outside the scope of the conversation. This board is discussing Obama's new tax policy and the quote you extracted from my post about foraging for roots was used in the context that if you participate in American society, you are going to pay excise taxes in one form of another. Its inescapable for the poorest of the poor and the richest of the rich. Obama in not just taxing couples making over 250k. He's taxing everyone, capice?

Unless you survive by digging for roots in a forest your statement does not have much substance. There's no avoiding the upcoming excise taxes. It will hit the poor and rich alike and that means less disposable income for people to purchase the things they need or want. Not quite the right recipe for getting the economy moving again.

reckless spending, earmarks and higher taxes of any kind for anybody is not the answer. Both JFK and RR faced deep recessions. Both lowered taxes, both restored consumer confidence, both navigated the country out of the economic messes they inherited from their predecessors. Obama is going in the same direction as Herbert Hoover and it didn't work then, its not going to work now. Just look at the mess Japan in for a more recent example.

Putin already knows the Democrats were going to kill missile defense. How stupid does Obama think the Russians are offering this up like some kind of carrot? Its still early and there are going to be some missteps along the way but this was amateur hour by the American government. I hope Obama and his team of wizards turn out smart like the media claimed they were.

Obama is lying to the American people again.
"Despite President Obama’s promise that “If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increase a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime,” his new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured."
Herbert Hoover sunk the economy with his government spending and higher taxes. Obama and his wiz kids would be wise to look at the economic model JFK and RR followed. Both these fiscal conservatives lowered taxes and used targeted government spending to remedy the deep recessions their administrations faced. Obama is doing the exact opposite. Nice change suckers.
Obama's decisions so far has done nothing more than erode public confidence. Enjoy your Wagyu beef Mr. President while ordinary Americans retirement accounts disappear.

You are absolutely right. Democrats are completely in control and totally responsible for which direction the country heads. As the economy continues to tank, as more and more people find themselves out of work, as the stock market continues to fall and retirement funds vanish, when the middle class realize they been lied to and more of their hard earned cash is being taken away in taxes, the tide will change.
The clock is ticking on the Democrats. tick tock, tick tock.

If you don't like Rush or Coulter, you are really going to hate Mark Levin. He is the newest voice of conservatism and he is making Obama, Pelosi and Reid look mighty stupid. Less than two years before the mid term election. Democrats better hope the economy starts turning by then. Obama's head will be on the chopping block two years after that.

skip, if you are thinking about living outside the US, consider the British Virgin Islands (no income tax), Switzerland (10-13%) or Singapore (top tax rate 14%).
I too am quitting giving to charities while the government redistributes my income.
Another way to keep money in your pocket is learning the art of bartering. Its a simple way to cut the government out of the action.

bebert, good points but the truth of the matter is everybody is going to end up paying higher taxes except for the ingrates who live off the public dole.
Anyone who uses gas, electricity and water will be getting taxed and taxed heavily. So unless you walk to work, live in a tent and bath in a river, the son of the Kenyan Marxist and his assembled cast of thieves will be sticking their grubby paws deeper into Americans pockets. The only ones that don't seem to quite realize it yet are the servile self-seekers on the left and outsiders who don't live in the United States and pay US taxes.

lets see, the government sucks at educating the kids, sucks at providing health care for senior citizens, sucks at managing the social security fund, sucks at regulating banks, sucks at delivering mail, sucks at running a railroad, sucks at making sure the food is safe, sucks at securing the borders, sucks at running airports, sucks at keeping bridges and roads in good repair, sucks at managing public housing, sucks at dealing with natural disasters, sucks at managing its budget, sucks at pretty much everything it does but now its a good idea to allow government to pretty much control all other aspects of our lives?
JFK is rolling in his grave.
