They show plenty of footage on the news, and conditions have changed dramatically since the typhoon and heavy rains. It's really terrible up there now. Snow has fallen and the ground covered with ash is almost totally frozen. If you have the chance to watch the workers on television, you will notice that most of them can't even use their shovels to break up the ash. It's pointless to continue at this time.

Haha. They were sleeping inside the station back room. I guess the first train's arrival woke them up.

I have a better solution. NHK can send a representative to each hotel room every evening to collect the fee. That would be very entertaining, especially dealing with those tired travelers.

I got some great shots, even though those lingering clouds had me a little worried. It was funny that some people walked by with no clue about the moon until they saw me looking me up.

That's a horrible accident to witness. I bet it was a huge crowd waiting at the crossing gate, and my heart goes out to them.

I saw that contraption on the news and it didn't look safe at all. Personally, I would have never gotten inside that weird thing. Are there any relevant health benefits for going inside the decompression chamber besides spending a great deal of time deep underwater?

Mt. Fuji is also a volcano, and everyone is still allowed to go up there. I was up there 3 weeks ago for the 3rd year in a row. I am not too concerned because I understand the risks (last eruption 300 years ago). Volcanoes tend to erupt whenever they feel like it, and the experts seem to show up after the fact.
