AK 619 - your logic is ridiculous. alcohol and tobacco are legal drugs and they aren't controlled by Yakuza. It is precisely because many drugs are aillegal that gangsters can control their production and distribution and make so much money out of them.

Agree - if not for the ridiculous Victorian attitudes to drugs in Japan (across the world?) this tragedy could have been prevented. What will never be prevented by making drugs illegal is people experimenting with them.

Banning things almost never works - drugs, prohibition, underage sex etc. As long as something is tradeable, people will always get round a ban and make lots of money doing so.
