Noise is part of the fabric of Tokyo - sound trucks may a a particular aspect of that, sure, but most other big cities are noisy. i love the bravado of all the posters who are goong to shoot/throw rocks at/throw water bobmbs at these trucks. Fast way to the local lock-up.....

Not "northeastern spain" but Catalunya. Soon EVERYTHING will be banned on the basis that it "has no place in amodern society". We will be like anaethatised, nannied drones - no excitement, no danger, No traditions, no causing anyone the slightest offence, every minority being protected. Sad really.

Saying that the gulf accident was his fault is ridiculous. Fact is that the rig operators and others also to blame. and they were operating to US regulations which are slack and shoddy compared to other countries rules. Typical American scapegoating approach rather than dealing with the real issues that the gulf spill points to.

they are still the right thing to do. the fact that many women (and indeed men) do not acknowledge the consideration in such gestures (e.g. just walk thru door being held open without a thanks) is annoying.
