The whole flying experience is what seems to bother everyone. Andy Rooney (an old cranky man on an American weekly news program called 60 Minutes) seemed to best summarize why traveling by air is such a hassle: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/17/60minutes/rooney/main4023256.shtml

You can tell Andy must typically fly with the American airlines when he made this statement, "I like to get up and walk around when I fly but they've made the aisles narrower to get more seats in so they don't want you to move around anymore. And there isn't room for two people to pass anyway and the flight attendants aren't as thin as they used to be, either. "

    Classic ranting by Andy

This camera is the epitome of technology that has gone berserk. Seriously, it's bad enough that people want to photograph every since moment of their lives, but now the need to document the coordinates on which they took their photographs, and publish this on the Internet? Can't people just look at the photographs and make the determination where the photo was taken?

The IOC wanted to get rid of softball, due in fact that this was an American dominated and owned sport. It's good to see the monotony broken up by having the Japanese win the gold medal. Too bad that baseball and softball are going to be eliminated from the Olympics...and replaced with sports from the X-games (BMX???).

Does this mean that the government will buy him a new house or offer him some extravagant prize for the gold medal he won?

...pricing worker-bees out of the market for decent housing, that is the hurdle no business can overcome.

The worker bees already walk across the border from Tijuana, where housing is less expensive than in the US. That hurdle has been; and will continue to be, exploited by businesses for decades to come.

"In Japan, the only country to have suffered atomic bombings..."

That statement is not exactly correct as it is written. True, Japan was the only country militarily attacked through the usage of nuclear weapons, but it wasn't the only country to have suffered bombings.

Even in the US, the military secretly detonated nukes in the Nevada desert in the 1957 (Operation "Plumbbob", exercise Desert Rock VII - VIII) and exposed its personnel to the effects of a nuclear blast. Perhaps it was a nit-pick, but it didn't seem to be a totally accurate statement the way it was written.

Sounds nice. I still like Ben and Jerry's "Willie Nelson's peach cobbler" ice cream, as one of the few sweet treats I enjoy every once in a while. Odd sounding name for ice cream, but actually tastes quite good.

First it was the airlines that pester everyone with their whining about how broke they are, and now Sony has decided to join the bandwagon too. I'm starting to wonder how long will it be before I see these CEO clowns standing in the traffic medians with signs begging for money?

Won't people smarten-up already? Doesn't Apple typically have a superior model for sale within six months anyway (and usually for less money)? Seriously, exactly how long does it really take to purchase a cell phone, what, maybe 30 - 45 minutes at the most?

I agree with a previous post, in that the total price of the ticket (including all of the nickel and dime fees that gets tacked on after the base price) should be what is advertised. This is like going to a car dealer, and the price of the car is $1000, but that's only for the tires, the rest of the car is priced ala carte.

Also, I guess Mr. Arpey missed this logic lesson in while in college (or life...), if you're going to start to charge people to check in luggage, you better wholly expect everyone on the plane to load up those tiny overhead compartments to avoid paying the $15. Brilliant. Makes me want to know what diploma mill he got his MBA at.

I suppose customers are going to feel really great knowing that they paid $15 for the AA to loose their luggage. What a deal.

American Airlines to charge $15 for first checked bag

Should change the title to "American Airlines to nickel and dime their customers"

I wonder what's to come next? Pay toilets? Guess I'd better bring extra coins if I fly AA (provided that airport security doesn't take that away too), as I can already expect the flight attendants to NOT have any spare change to provide if all I have is paper currency.
