I believe based on other news reports found on the web, Honda is pursuing a gasoline / electric hybrid powered vehicle (not LPG powered or a plug-in hybrid). I've also read that Honda is pursing in parallel an effort to produce hydrogen powered vehicles (perhaps one of the most wasteful methods of going "green" - using more energy to harness hydrogen than what you'd burn in regular gasoline). Honda's plan to reduce manufacturing costs is to build two new production lines at Honda's Suzuka's plant that's capable of manufacturing different types of engines including diesels. Honda's shooting for the commonality concept in manufacturing, as to cut costs and go head to head with Toyota's Prius.

Expect to see fuel economy go down by a few percentage points when you use "biogasoline" (I.E. ethanol) in your car. One study by Consumer Reports a couple of years ago (http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/new-cars/news/2006/ethanol-10-06/overview/1006ethanolov1_1.htm) found that the fuel economy dropped 27% when E85 (85% ethanol and 15% gas) was used as a fuel source. Considering that ethanol only has 65% of the BTU's that gasoline has, so much for "thinking green."
It would be interesting to know what is the percentage of ethanol or whatever "biogasoline" is comprised of that's being used at these ever growing fuel stations.

I wonder if there would have been this much of a commotion if the crew filmed their movie at Kentucky Fried Chicken instead of McDonalds?
