    I have never before felt that it would be a good thing if something were to happen to a President. Not with the incompetent Carter, nor Clinton, not with Bush who I despised. I've always respected the office, if not the man. But Obama, if something happened to him, I honestly believe the country would be better off, even with an idiot like Biden running it.

    Perhaps the fallout from the Sestak job offer will be Obama's undoing.

    WhiteHawk, you neglected to mention Cuba, Venezuela, and England are all drilling in the gulf as well as those other countries you mention.

    But hey, that's only for us. China, Mexico, Brazil, Russia and Vietnam are still drilling. Some of those countries are even continuing to drill right in the same Gulf of Mexico. And what is congress' solution? Quadruple the oil taxes. So much for decreasing our independence on foreign oil. So much for any economic recovery.

    It wasn't. In fact, only the first sentence was a response to your post. My apologies for not clarifying.

    I am not sure you understand what taking away these kids' citizenship will do to your country, though. Birthright citizenship in embedded in your constitution and, at least in my opinion, you should be really proud of that. This is not just federal law, it is the constitution. So, will there be enough people to amend it to reflect your views? That will definitely be something worth following!

    Proud, until that law is exploited on a massive scale. Tens of millions of people using the law to get financial benefits is costing our country tens of billions of dollars annually now. Their parents, who came here illegally, should be sent back according to the rest of the laws, right? If you don't send the kid back too, that's "breaking up the family". If you do send the kid back too, that's violating their right to be here. And you can't leave the choice up to the parents, as they'll find some way to exploit that situation as well.

    How about this: If the birth was part of a fraud scheme (as hundreds, if not thousands, are every month) the kid gets sent back. And how do you determine that? Well, how long does it take to legally apply and obtain citizenship? If the parents didn't apply within 90 days of the kid's birth, they all go back. Even if the kid is 17.

    There's more to the illegal immigration problem than low wages and entitlement abuse. The increase in DUI accidents and deaths, hit-and-run accidents, violent crimes against adults and children, the increase in diseases, etc. Then there are the ones that really show how bad the problem is, and how simple deportation just isn't enough:

    The email is from the same guy who wrote the Arizona immigration law and in his reality, the next step is to take away their citizenship (no sarcasm here, just the beginnings of a bad headache).

    That still doesn't explain what's different about the current Arizona law and the federal law.

    I wonder, how many other countries have an "anchor baby" law? Does anyone have a count?

    Since Leftists around the world are quick to label anyone who wants to enforce America's existing immigration laws and secure the borders as "racist", I wonder if they'll stick to their principles and call Obama a racist now too.

    So is Obama sending the National Guard troops to Arizona, or will he skip that state? I know, I'm just kidding.

    I also wonder if he's sending the troops to help enforce the federal immigration laws while being critical of Arizona's immigration laws? It would be ironic, since he can't point out how they differ.

    It's time to call NK's bluff and ratchet up the pressure.

    I don't know how much of a bluff it is this time. It seems they just sank a S. Korean ship with a torpedo. It could be that the NK Dear Leader is just lonely and wants the US Dear Leader to visit for some tea. Or maybe he thinks the US Dear Leader doesn't have the stones to intervene and he's free to attack SK all he wants. All the US Dear Leader will do is talk tough. If NK sinks another SK ship, he'll talk even tougher.

    Other thoughts:

    One shot was fired. If the cop intended to open fire on the house from the outside, why just one shot? The most likely explanation is that he fired the gun accidentally. If he was still outside the house, it could have been nerves. If it was inside the house, it could because he was "jostled" by the girl's grandmother, or accidentally bumped into her. Right now, none of us genuinely know. All we can legitimately surmise at this point is that: 1. The cop did not manage his gun properly, and 2. The girl is dead.

    If it was nerves, then he has no business being a cop.

    I still wonder why - if this cop fired from outside - the police are covering for him if he has a record as a bad cop and/or there is video proving them wrong. The police department doesn't have the authority to suppress the video. If nothing else, a judge or grand jury is bound to see it sooner or later. I'm not suggesting it proves the innocence of the police, it's just illogical. And being illogical never stopped anybody. I remember a certain president fervently denied sexual relations with an intern until her DNA-stained blue dress came to light.

    There's just not enough known about this to fully blame either side yet, as yabits is doing. Speaking of yabits, earlier he said:

    The evidence that the father of Aiyana is a pretty scummy person who hung around with the suspect and may have even accompanied him to the place where Jerean Blake was murdered in no way absolves the police.

    No, but it does tarnish his credibility quite a bit.

    The people who have seen the video and have publicly reported what it shows are on record, and have to make their case from it.

    Well, I hope the video is of better quality than the Zapruder film.

    I seriously doubt they would jeopardize their case and their reputations like this. Not on this issue.

    Me too. Except for Sharpton, who is famous for the Tawana Brawley fraud and the Crown Heights riot. Did you have the same opinion of the police Brawley accused as you do these police?

    Then there's the father's account of what he heard, as well as the grandmother's account.

    Are these the same people who were suspected of harboring Chauncey "C-Note" Owens?

    Are these the same people who had two stolen vehicles in their backyard?

    ...and you'd have to love the police a whole lot (and discount the words of poor folks) to put your faith in the police side of it to the extent that you'd claim the grandmother attacked the police, as you did up above.

    My faith? That's a little strong there. I did not make the claim, all I did was comment on the police department's claim. My "faith" isn't involved in this matter at all.

    I've met a lot of police officers and detectives over the years. There are some I respect, and some that I thought were overgrown playground bullies. One of the latter was a Metro Nashville cop who finally provoked a black suspect too far one night and got himself shot to death. Then there was that Birmingham-area (I think it was Homewood) cop I mentioned before. In a state packed with crooked cops and commissioners, he stood out for also being a trigger-happy adrenaline junkie. So do I love the police? No. I respect some, and don't respect others. Are you that fair with the police?

    Not even the police were claiming that -- just some sort of ambiguous physical "bumping."

    Re-read it. "Jostled by" Bumping can be accidental. Jostling is intentional. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a reason to say "jostled or bumped". In a May 18th AP story, the wording is "struggled with". You see, this JT article isn't the only story I've read about this event. You?

    So until I see the video, I'm not fully buying either side. Unlike you.

    I can understand why it would be supressed now, especially since catching the police in an obvious fabricated story might be enough to enrage the entire community.

    So neither of us were there, and neither of us have seen the video. You're more dedicated to your position than I am to mine, but you're basing your opinion completely on secondhand evidence. Hearsay, as it's known in American courts. Let's wait until we both see the video, okay?

    Still haven't seen your evidence that she didn't. Like you said, the video will likely be released at some point.

    The statement that "I couldn't be more wrong about your views" of the police and the poor enough to set your trousers ablaze.

    Wow. There's so much you don't know about me, but that doesn't keep you from having very firm and extreme opinions about me. I still remember when you refused to believe how little I was paying for a good health insurance plan. It started with you confusing my deductible for my amount of coverage and it went from there. And no matter how many times I corrected you, you refused to believe me. Instead, you insisted on believing the hype and fear-mongering about America's health insurance industry, propaganda that was coming from the very people with an agenda to destroy it.

    Sounds like a cop I heard about in the Birmingham, Alabama area a few years ago.

    The video is real -- filmed by a professional television crew that trained its cameras on the raid. The claim has been publicly made by several people who have seen it that it shows the shot being fired outside the house.

    The video is far more real than your phony allegation that the Grandma tried to "fight the police." She was taken down to Detroit police HQ in handcuffs and tested for drugs as well as traces of gunpowder -- which would have been present had she been in close proximity of a firearm discharging. She was released as soon as the tests came back -- with no charges filed. That would likely not have been the case if gunpowder evidence showed she resisted the police to the point where it caused the death of another person.

    The facts will bear out what the video evidence -- and your false accusation of an innocent person will not be forgotten.

    Fine, fine. But where is the link to the video? Can I see it for myself?

    Why would police shoot blindly into a house from the outside? On camera? That makes no sense.

    Then you weren't paying attention, or you would've noted when I complained about Bush's amnesty proposals, his medicare drug spending, his reluctance to veto spending bills (both Democrat and Republican), his inability to confront Iran over their interference in Iraq, etc.

    Besides, you've already proven yourself wrong about all business being owned by Republicans. That's why you were against Bush giving them tax breaks, remember? And now it's Obama who is suggesting tax breaks for businesses, you're trying to vilify anybody who doesn't like anything less than 100% of his plan. Sycophant much?

    It helps me vent. Do you mind if I exercise my right to free speech?

    People need jobs. What is your answer for that?

    Jobs for doing what? Designing and building houses? No, we overbuilt for the CRA so much that we have a housing glut. We're overstocked, in other words. Tell me, specifically what kind of jobs are you wanting to fill? And how are Obama's proposals going to accomplish that? Pressure banks to make loans again? That's what got us into this mess! Besides, that works fine for new businesses, but what about existing ones? How about reducing their tax burden? And not this shell game of reducing their capital gains taxes, because seriously, how many small businesses pay capital gains taxes in the first place? No, you'll have to reduce the taxes on their operating expenses. But Obama doesn't want to do a real tax cut, because like all Leftists, he's convinced that it always leads to revenue losses for the government.

    See? Part of finding solutions that work is dismissing the solutions that don't work and explaining why they don't work. You might see that as only partisan bickering, but it's all part of finding the solutions.

    By the way, do you ever read all of my posts, or do you just pick one line and start typing?

    As for exposing the politically two faced. Again petty politics does not put money in worker's pockets or their kids in schools or time in the dentist chair for children.

    $1 trillion - $2.5 trillion is anything but petty.
