Gosh I want all the republican posters to come on and tell us how they don't want to help small businesses because they might agree with something that Obama wamts. They would rather damn the small business then compromise.

Of course you want that. And when they don't say it, you'll claim they did anyway. You're like the guy who proposes providing clean water by taxing all the people who names start with the letter "A" 90% of their income, and when people start complaining, you try to vilify them by saying "Gosh, you guys are really against having clean water, aren't you?"

I know your partisan myopia will blind you to this, but we want to help small businesses. But as always, it's how you go about it. Obama thinks he can help the small business sector by empowering the federal government, which under Democrat guidance created the problems for the small business sector in the first place. If Obama, like so many Leftists, didn't have double standards, he would have no standards at all.

You recently claimed on another thread that all businesses were owned by Republicans. All. Now you want to help them? Boy, you'll spin in any direction to defend your messiah, won't you?

Oh yeah, and where's your proof that all businesses are owned by Republicans?

    tkoind2:

No absolute GOP or democrat solution is going to pass. Compromise is the only thing that will work here.

You know that. I know that. But President Obama and Speaker Pelosi obviously don't know that.

But that will not happen with the kind of Anti-Obama non-sense that the GOP keep pressing.

It's not "anti-Obama,", it's anti-Marxist. He just makes the mistake of taking it personally.

Where are the leaders who care more about the people and less about getting re-elected?

On TV, in movies. Actually, Sarah Palin seems to be a leader like that. (Oh boy, here come the flame wars!)

I am not GOP and I am not a democrat. I am outside the political affiliation circle. I am for the people. For the poor, for the Americans having a hard time. And I want to see change that helps people end up with jobs, health care, education and strong communities. I don't give a damn who delivers these benefit or what animal they have as a mascot.

And all of that is very noble.

We need more people who share this kind of thinking. Thinking that demands real solutions and not politically expedient ones.

We also need people who expose the politically two-faced for what they are, to keep them from steamrolling the public with their extremist plans (like the Pelosi-crafted health care "reform" that even Democrats in Massachusetts rejected).

By the way, I think the Republican legislative additions listed in my link were some real solutions, at least when you consider the context of the overall bill. What do you think?

The administration is talking about making an amendment to the TARF laws to help small businesses to get loans they couldn't get from banks. I see how you're against small businesses.

    Let me get this straight.

Obama wants to amend laws so they will either encourage or pressure banks to make loans to small businesses.

This is after reducing their inclination to make loans by giving them bailouts, which according to the Democrats, the banks needed after...

They were forced by the Democrats to make loans to people who couldn't repay them.

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Most Americans don't have health care.

That's completely false. 47 million (if that's even true) is not "most" of 310 million. It's barely 15%.

Whitehawk you personify the kind of partisan BS that is killing our nation.

How, by pointing out the partisan BS the President and Speaker of the House are practicing? Hey, don't shoot the messenger pal!

How about coming up with some solutions instead of sitting back and pointing fingers.

Would you follow the link I provided in my first post on this thread before criticizing me? It would make you look less foolish. It contains a long list of valid, common-sense solutions offered that were by Republicans, only to be killed by Democrats, usually Speaker Pelosi.

We are tired to death of the political nonsense and ready for some real change.

So am I, that's why I want Obama and Pelosi to at least do what they say, or even better, to do what's right. But no, they are insisting on going the partisan BS route.

Step up with some real answers or sit down and shut up.

Again, follow the link in my first post on this thread. But then you might find out how wrong you've been, and then you wouldn't be able to keep blaming me for practicing partisan BS while doing the same yourself.

On second thought, since you're having such difficulty seeing what's right in front of you, I'll just post the link again:

Wow WhiteHawk, you don't want Obama to work with the republicans?

    Haha, nice try.

I'm saying he's being dishonest about his intentions. He does not want to work with the Republicans, he wants the Republicans to work for him. If he wanted to see true bipartisanship, he would be telling Pelosi to be more bipartisan.

As is shown by the link I provided above, Republicans submitted positive, sensible recommendations to Pelosi's Health care "reform" plans, and they were rejected outright. Only for Obama, Pelosi, and like-minded Leftists all over the internet to claim that the submissions never existed, or were rejected by "independent analysts", both of which are entirely untrue. Not that it matters, as Democrats only have themselves to blame for not getting their legislation passed, since Republicans had only 40 seats (less, when you consider the vulnerability of Snowe and other RINOs) and didn't have the White House. But still they try to blame Republicans...

Does anyone remember when Obama said: "But I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking."

    http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-dont-want-the-folks-who-created-the-mess-to-do-a-lot-of-talking/

    Obama, you're a two-faced fraud.

Obama made a play for bipartisanship,

Seriously, is anybody fooled? We've all seen the Democrats' concept of bipartisanship. They demonstrated it once again during the health care negotiations, when they killed Republicans submissions that they and their sycophants later claimed never existed:

As President Obama explained to my congressman, Tom Price (whose emails I receive almost weekly), a great many Republican "proposals" don't check out when submitted for reality checks to independent analysts.

What "independent analysts"? Can you name them? Can you do a better job than you did when I asked you to name some right-wing dictators?

The truth is, the Republican proposals are reality checks. Tell me how these are unrealistic: http://republicanleader.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=139708

Tell me if they ever saw any "independent analysis" before being killed off by Pelosi.

    yabtis:

The summary of Obama's walking alone into the den of the minority party's meeting is this: "I school Republicans."

And just how did he "school Republicans" when they pointed out Pelosi's strong-arm tactics in squashing their proposals, or when they called him out for not keeping his campaign promises to broadcast the health care negotiations on CSPAN? Hmmmm?

The states and districts represented in Congress by the Republican Party is less than 36% of the U.S. population. And Republicans selfishly want things 80% their way.

That's not true. The people who elected those Republican representatives still want their representation. It's the same thing Democrats say when they're in the minority. Just because Democrats have a majority does not mean that Republicans have to submit to their ridiculous legislation, especially when they're excluded from negotiations.

If nothing can please you, then the problem must be you.

    yabits:

Over an hour and a half of unscripted questions from your opposition party -- answering them skillfully and articulately -- and not a teleprompter in sight.

If there is any speech Obama has down pat, it's "blame Republicans". I bet SushiSake wouldn't need a 'prompter for that either.

    SS3:

Sarge, what you saw was a whole room full of GOP leaders and not one of them matched wits with Obama.

Not true. Marsha Blackburn (and someone else, I can't remember now) cornered Obama about Pelosi's obstruction, and he had nowhere to go.

    Sarge:

Yeah? Then how come he got whipped in Massachusetts last week?

And Virgina and New Jersey before that?

    SS3:

Sarge, um..the president wasn't running in Massachusetts....

I guess you didn't see the exit polling:

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0110/31708.html

Again, good on the GOP for inviting him, and good on Obama for showing up. Now let's see Pelosi do the same. Just her on her taxpayer-funded "booze plane" and keep the destination a secret.

Or maybe Obama can address an NRA convention. He can take Holder with him. THAT would be an interesting Q-and-A session!

    Odogma:

American liberals and progressives like the idea of trains because as an institution such methods of transpo reduce independence and self-reliance, and they foster the herd mentality and groupthink these same groups need in order to overcome the American people's natural, historic proclivity for liberty and freedom of choice.

I used to think that, until I got tired of driving in and out of downtown during the rush hours and started taking the bus. My quality of life became much better (less stress), and it would be even better if trains were available, as they don't get stuck in traffic.

    guest:

Obama is rolling off the rails on a crazy train.

Thanks. Now I have that song stuck in my head.

    Helter Skelter:

The number of people that will use these high speed trains will never justify the cost, and will have little impact on fossil fuel consumption. It will be a huge money loser. The 8 billion would be far better spent directly on developing alternatives to the gasoline powered car, such as electric or hydrogen.

Honda has already developed a very nice hydrogen car, the issue is developing an efficient way of capturing hydrogen.

    dontknockit:

    I was 11 years old!

When I was 11, I bought my 10-speed with neighborhood lawn-mowing money. Of course by that time, I had already been working the family farm for a few years, helping grow corn and tobacco (without pay). Your dad may have been selfish, but if you're still complaining about not getting a motorcycle when you were 11, I'd say you're spoiled.

I admit that I am not familiar enough with South American governments to name one. But that was not my question anyway. My question was for those complaining about right-wing dictators to name them. And nobody has.

I couldn't help but notice that when Republicans complained about being blocked by Pelosi, Obama didn't want to hear it.

I guess it was all just for show then, since he doesn't want to fix congress' single biggest problem.

But hey, kudos to him for following in GWB's footsteps (again) by meeting with the opposition.

You guys are right. It's too impractical and expensive at this point. I'm a pilot and I would rather take a train than a commercial flight for most of my domestic trips.

But I do wish it was a practical option for us.

While I am a fan of passenger rail service (my very first post in the forums was asking about the practicality of high-speed rail in the U.S.), I can't say I have the upmost faith in this administration to accomplish this rather large task on time, on budget, or without the corruption and environmental posturing and profiteering Odogma suggested.

Obama told the crowd at Thursday’s town hall meeting that when the high-speed rail line connecting Tampa and Orlando is finished, “I’m going to come back down here and ride it.”

You won't be needing as much Secret Service protection then, Mr. President, as you won't be president by the time this is finished.

Obama is facing more prejucies than any other president in history.

On the race question, another poster couldn't post any examples of this. Can you? Besides the Berkeley-educated Iranian official. I already know about him.

We are not just talking the colour of his skin, but politicians ,the media, people who don't want change. They see him as a brash young man who wants to change the world.

We see him as a Marxist who surrounds himself with far-left extremists. Always has, and although he and his supports tried to deny it during the campaign, continues to do so as president.

Well he's trying, give him the backing he needs,or don't you have the @#$%s.

Give him the backing to make things worse? No, I don't think so.

Leftists the world over wanted to see Bush fail. Why should non-Leftists be held to a higher standard?

I certainly defeated you with it, tough guy!

No, you only defeated yourself. I asked for examples of racism against Obama that you claimed were abundant, and you provided NONE. You merely claimed to have found a bunch with a Google search, but never listed a single one.

I even provided an example for you, but it turned out to be a Berkeley-educated Iranian official. Not only was he not an American, nor a Republican, but he also demostrated that the promises of Obama restoring respect for America on the world stage have also failed.

So here's your second chance. Give me some examples of racism against Obama.
