We shouldn´t gloat too much about the strangeness of Shariah law. The more the West appeases islamic demands, the closer we get to Sharia ourselfes. Add the demographic factor (birthrates and immigration), and it is safe to say that in a couple of generations the same thing will happen in Europe and the US.

What is that supposed to mean? By pulling out troops, "the Iraqis" take control by definition. The question is which Iraqis. It was incredibly naive by Bush to assume that Iraq is ready to become a liberal democracy, it is just as naive by Obama to assume that.

Neither GWB´s ban on using government funds for this research nor Obamas decision to use government funds for this research has anyting to do with anyone "preventin your choice of medical treatmen". That is a strawman.
All that Obama has done is take money from the people who earn money and give it to research which many of the people he takes the money from find unethical. It is entirely reasonable to question this attitude.

What we are to complain about? Taking tax money and spending it on disecting babies will stimulate the economy. It is brilliant all around.

LOL! If he did that he would have to be executed in turn for desecrating the holy Koran. But you know that, of course. Thanks for a good laugh.

The Saudi court only implements islamic law. It is their religious duty. This is what God wants, it says so in the Koran and the Haddith. What are we to complain?

That is so true... 21st century touchy-feely feelgood PC meets 13th century fanaticism. Guess who wins there.
In a way, one should sit back and admire the show. What a phantastic experiment with futility.

Ridiculous. Nobody has the balls to actually bring him to court, and what law anyway? Bashir is simply following islamic law in conducting jihaad against those stinking infidels in Southern Sudan... do they want to blame him for not following his religion?

A "moderate element of the Taliban" --- what insane phantasy.
Maybe next we look for a moderate element of the KKK?

FreeinJapan:
How in the world do you define "finishing the job" in Afghanistan, and where do you get strange idea from that the jihadists who now rule the Swat valley as an islamist Shariah region are somehow "refugees" from Afghanistan?!
The Taliban and other jihadist are not fleeing Afghanistan, they are getting stronger by the day, and no number of hapless soldiers sent by the great military leader Obama into the Afghanistan mountains will stop that.

LOL! The only jobs created through this wealth redistribution scheme mislabelled as "stimulus" are government jobs. Not jobs in rest of the economy that is taxed to pay for them.
If a country could tax-and-spend its way to wealth, then Venezuela and Cuba would be blossoming economies, and Hong Kong would be a basket case. Sorry, your slogan does not meet a reality check.

So while Obama sends 17,000 more soldiers on a wild goose chase to Afghanistan, the jihadist are building their new Caliphate in Pakistan... one valley at the time. How bizarre.
