The article is missing the point. From what the Potus elect says and what we know about his ideology, he sees the economic crisis not as a problem, but as an opportunity. There is no limit to the new spending that will be approved in rapic succession under his government, all with borrowed or newly printed money. Before that show is over, the US will have outfranced France and will settled with huge new entitlement programs bureaucracies that will make the cradle-to-grave government support states of Northern Europe look capitalistic. Wait and see.

You know very well that if we go off-topic by quoting religious texts here, the moderators will quickly step in. So I will just refer you to this article by Sheik Abdullah Bin Muhammad, which lays out the jihadist cause pretty well. Remember, this is mainstream teaching: http://islamworld.net/docs/jihad.html
You will not find any similar reasoning in Catholicism, Buddhism, or Ahmediyya islam, for that matter.
So again, I really recommend doing your homework before opining.
Moderator: Readers, you are starting to go around in circles. Please make sure that all future posts focus on the story.

No. They are devout. That you, an unbelievers, disagree with their religious interpretation, is completely irrelevant to the topic. By definition, the Shahids (islamic martyrs) go to paradise (which is not assured at all to believers in islam -- martyring yourself is seen as one sure-fire way to get there).
I recommend reading up on the subject before opining.

Bombings of course need bombs. The concept of islamic martyrdom goes right back to the beginning of islam. Very early on, Mohammed promised paradise for those who die in the process of fighting for Allah. This is firmly embedded in the Koran and the Haddith.
Again, those who opine about these things would be well advised to their homework first.

False statement. Muslim clerics like Ayatollha Khomeini and Yussuf al Quaradafi represent the highest authority in Shiite and Sunnis islam, respectively. And the they both advocate physical jihad.
Conversely, both Ahmediyya islam and Alevite Islam has renounced physical jihad. And there are no suidice bombers who are Ahmediyya or Alevite. Alas, both Shiites and Sunnis consider Ahmediyyas and Alevites as heretics. q.e.d.
NB: I recommend doing your homework before opining on the subject.

False statement, and easy to disprove. There is no correlation between suicide bombers and poverty. There is a clear correlation between suicide bombers and fundamentalist islam. (And if you take out the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, who also have perfect this art, it is practically a 100% one.)
All of the suide bombers are devout muslims, and if you watch their farewell messages, you will they always celebrate their coming entry to paradise and the marriage to their 72 virgins. q.e.d.

Actually, no. If he doesn´t have a family and she is in bad health, why not? Could happen anywhere. Strangling her because she is bed-ridden is the part that raises eyebrows.

Actually, McCaine was never the "mirror of Bush". He had different with Bush on Iraq from the start and built his entire campaign precisely on not being Bush.
Not that it really matters... both parties miss the point in regard to the Middle East... but these simplistic campaign slogans are getting boring.

Yes, environmentalism is a noble cause, but face it, most of the ideas floating around are simply naive... environmentalists pretend that we can have our cake and eat it.

So you see fundamentalist islam as a sort of freedom movement be the oppressed masses against the rich Westerners and Jews. That is a typical extreme leftist view, and it is very convenient for Bin Ladin et al. But make no mistake: When islamists are in power, they make short work of leftists, just as any other non-jihadists ideology. For them, the only things that counts as Sharia, and there is no place for stinking atheists such as communists.

Depends on the car. Modern passenger cars are low and have a round bonnet, so victims would be flung over the top. With SUVs it ist completely different. Very high, vertical front for smashing, and high ground clearance for dragging. Perfect people-grinding-machines.

That´s a typical strawman. Nobody ever said that "all muslims are terrorist". The point is all jihadists are muslim, the jihadist message addresses muslims (not Buddhists or Norwegian Lutherans), and only muslims are potential recipients. So it is totally idiotic to blank islam out of the the jihadist problem.

They might just cite the Koran and the haddith. The hate messages are right there. The problem is more general: We allow violent political speech under the label of "religous freedom". That should not be so. Religions should not be excempt from rules about hate speech. Muslim preachers should be asked to make a clear stand that they refuse the hate suras in the Koran. If they refuse, they should be prosecuted liek any other hate speech provider.

USARonin:
No, it isn´t. For better or worse, the West has decided to grant freedom of religion to all religions, without considering their content. Hence, jihadism can be taught and we can´t do a thing about it.
Depends what you call "mainstream". The jihadists certainly include the violent jihad, and there are enough clerics who support them.

So stupid. The 9/11 perpetrators are dead.
The most they can accuse Khalid Omar of is being a pious religious man and following the dictate of his religion to contribute to jihad against the unbelievers. And that ain´t a crime in Western legal code.
Ridiculous, self-defeating, waste of Western ressources.
