What "partnership"? The premise is ridiculous. Karzai hates the infidel Americans, but is happy to accept their money and their help to keep is regime in power, until the invevitable handover to the Taliban. That is as far as this "partnership" goes.
What bombastic ignorance on the side of the US government and the article writer.

Drip, drip, drip.... the media campaign to prepare the ground for another Western illegal military intervention are building up.
It is truly saddening reading this steady stream of propaganda with articles like this.
Reality is that while the Assad regime is certainly not warm and cuddly, it is relatively secular, and the islamist Muslim Brotherhood regime that would replae it if it falls would be much much worse.
But neither Western politicians nor the Western press have learned anything from the other "Arab spring" disasters, apparently.

It is interesting to watch the mainstream media explosion about the use of rude words, about the speaker apologized quickly afterwards.
Jog my memory: Did Obama demand Ed Schultz apologize to Laura Ingraham for calling her a "right wing slut"?
And Barbara Walters laughed it off when Schultz called Ingraham a slut.
What about Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a cnt and saying she should suck his dck and calling her a dumb tw*t?
Did President Obama ever call up to express sympathy to any of the great many Americans who were called "teabaggers" by Democrat politicians and MSNBC TV hosts?
....I don´t recall either big media interest nor any apology, or what?
Afaic, this is typical hypocrisy by partisan media once again.

Interesting to note how the article headline blanks out the islamic jihadist nature of the kidnapping and makes it a "Nigerian" issue.

You could not "escape" by car anyway. It is a sensible decision as far as it goes, but the gridlock will be there nonetheless.

The article is simply stating a fact. While some rich Western countries bow to the politically correct pressure to phase out nuclear power, the rest of the world is going full throttle on it.
Of course it is necessary to search for new sources of energy. But in the real world, outside fossil fuels, nuclear is the only realistic option there is. All these politically correct dreams about windmilling and solar pannelling into a lalala future while maintaining a modern society are just that... pipedreams.
Those are the facts, and "rating" a message that states them with minus points does not change them.

The "wide array of food" for penguins consists of.... fish.
And there is plenty of that in Tokyo Bay. Granted, probably containing more mercury than you´d wish, but humans eat Edowan sushi too, so pengi would be doing just fine, food-wise.

NoryoSan73;
The Sunni Arab countries actually agree on this. Like McCain and Obama, they can not wait to see Assads secular Alevite regime be replaced by a Muslim Brotherhood Shariah regime, following the brilliant "successes" in Tunesia, Libya, and Egypt.
So, it is a happy family of Western fools and Arab islamists. Does that make you feel better?

That is pure idiocy coming from McCain. Alas, Obama has the same lunatic view of the Middle East, and is already now endorsing arms sales to the Syrian "freedom fighters".
Both McCain and Obama are unable or unwilling to learn from disastrous experiences.
