So,in your mind Iran`s nuclear bomb is not a "threat to world peace", but the possibility that Israel takes it out is???
Talk about an upside-down world view.

It is pathetic to see the US and France et all once again interfering in an Arab country in order to introduce "democracy". Have these fools learned nothing from the disasters in Iraq, Egypt, Libya ,etc?
Once the relatively secular Assad regime is removed, we do not get a wonderful democracy. What we get is another Muslim Brotherhood regime and a Shariah theocracy.
Much as I dislike Russia and China, but it is good to see them put a brake on the idiot Western politicians and their self-destructice schemes.

Madverts:
Yes,. And the Iranian mullahs are quite aware of it. One bomb placed on, say, Tel Aviv, would make Israel unviable as a county. And that is of course what the islamists want. Iran, on the other hand, is a mult-nuke country... it could take multiple nuclear hits and still exist as a country. Kameihni has said as much publicly, so it is not just idle speculation. So, my prediction stands. We will see a nuclear Iran. There is simply not the the political will on the Western side to prevent it. Period.
No. Israel would NOT retaliate with nuclear weapons, even if it got nuked. The society is too modern and humane for that. Rather, they would accept their new holocaust, as they have done before. On the Iranian side, there are of course no such concerns.

They have not, and they will not. While Iran`s mullahs are fully willing to wipe out the Jewish state, it is highly doubtful that Israel will use even one of its nukes, even after being nuked itself. Where Israel has moral squabbles, Iran only sees divine glory and the return of the 12th imam.
To relativize these two demonstrates total ignorance about the situation.

Military action against Ahmedinejads bomb is necessary, but it will not come. It is very simple: Israel does not have the ressources to do it, and Obama`s America does not have the will.
So, sometime this or next year, Ahmedinejad will have Allah`s bomb. Get used to it.

As for violent sports, shouldn´t Canadian icehockey be somewhere near the top?

LOL, same here. I prefer standup-fighting too. This "mount position" stuff on the ground might be where a fight ends up, but it is just not something I enjoy watching... not when two muscular males are doing it, anyway.

Stupid case. This only means more ridiculous disclaimers in instruction manuals... The only winners are once again the the American lawyers... as if they were not skimming enough wealth off the rest of society.

Strange article. Japan has had MMA events for years; first K1, then Pride, Heros, etc. This is the same thing, just with a different name. Is the article writer unaware of that?

So how many "final" rescue summits have we had yet, almost weekly?
This time again, they are not burying anything, they are just once again kicking the ball down the road and making the problem worse again.

Of course, it can. Follow France`s example and offer free all-day nursery care for little children, and you will see the fertiliy rate go up to the around 2.1 per woman which is the statistical average for maintaining a stable population.
The current system in Japan actively punishes people for having babies, so it is no wonder that the fertility rate is where, around 1.5 now? Look around your neighbourhood.... in mine, one designer baby is the norm. Instead of more children, people get a chihuahua. That policy makes sense when you want to shrink a population, but now when you want to grow it.

Japan will be just fine with a "greyer" society. Some adjustments in social, financial, and legal systems will be necessary of course.
If, on the other hand, Japan follows Europe´s disastrous example and replaces the aging population with massive immigration from the islamic world, Japan´s future is bleak indeed. I hope the politicians are looking at the precedents world-wide and don´t repeat the mistake.

Staffan Carle:
Oh please. It is so simple to complain about the evil of capitalism at every turn, but the fact is nobody has found an alternative that is better. Or can you show any command economy that delivers wealth to its people? Of course not.
Fact is, a market is and will always be the most efficient system to allocate ressources. Wise committees in smoke-filled backrooms can never achieve the same. Fact is also that neither the US housing bubble nor the Euro crisis are the result of "capitalism". In a pure capitalist system, they would never have occurred in the first place, or corrected themselves quickly and brutally.
It is when politicians try to improve the world that they distort the normal market mechanisms and cause such crazy situations as today (e.g. when the force banks to make unsafe loans in the first place and then refuse to let speculating banks go under, both of which you can see today.) The US housing bubble is creation of politics, not of markets. So is the Euro debt crisis. Who gave Greek politicians and speculators the ability to borrow massively at German rates? Politicians did. Markets did not. Who keeps indebting Northern European populations to guarantee PIIG lender banks against their will? "Capitalism" does not, politicians do.
So lets go easy on the soundbytes please.
