President Obama's problem is that he knows very little about history - although I doubt he even cares.
In 1967, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan were amassing tens of thousands of troops and hundreds of tanks along their borders with Israel. They were clearly preparing an invasion. Israel simply did the smart thing militarily and ceased the initiative by striking first. Israel has won all of their defensive wars because they have had better leadership than the Arabs have had. If the Arabs were not planning to invade there would not have been invasion forces along their borders with Israel.
Israel learned that the narrow mid-section of their country could easily be cut off. They also understood that it was strategically more advantageous to defend their Eastern side the west side of the Jordan river and thus the West Bank became an Israeli territory.
If the Arabs had simply given up on the idea of destroying Israel and if they would have been tolerant of the Israelis, they would not have lost the 1967 war and the West Bank would still be a part of Jordan.

Some people just feel sorry for the Palestinians because they are poor and downtrodden; despite the fact that most aid for the Palestinians comes from the US and Europe and Arab nations give them nothing preferring to use them as proxies to fight against Israel. Jordan is particularly at fault for screwing over the Palestinians and keeping them in "slums". They could have taken them in as refugees but prefer the West support them in semi-squalor.
President Obama has always been pro-Palestinian. He just uses Jews for their money and influence at election time. If he gets re-elected, this 1967 borders flap will be nothing. The Israeli's understand where Obama's loyalties are - and it isn't with them. Things will continue to be frosty with Israel until a new American president is sworn in. Israel just has to hope that they are still around when that happens.

zurcronium:
So then after Israel agrees to go back to the 1967 borders and the Palestinian government (which includes Hamas) continues to try to kill and eject the Jews from the Middle East as is their stated goal what should the Israeli's do then? Just say the heck with it, give up their defenses and agree to be killed in droves? No one can seriously believe that Hamas and a large number of Arabs in the Middle East do not simply want to get rid of the Jewish people. All you have to do is listen to their media - it's no secret.
How about this instead. The Palestinians and the Jihadi's stop all terrorist or any other attacks against Israel. After a period of time when it appears that they have really changed and would like to peacefully co-exist, the Israeli's and the Palestinians can then sit down and negotiate a peace deal and a two state solution. The Israeli's have only taken territories due to attack by Arab states. Furthermore, the territories that Israel occupied where only enough to enable them to defend themselves. It's not as if the Israeli's ended up in the West Bank for no reason. It is not the stated goal of Israel to get rid of the Palestinian people. The same cannot be said for the Palestinians.

I would rather see a picture of them actually helping someone or doing something to help rather than just seeing them standing on stage. Is PR all that they are doing? How about going to the affected areas and entertaining people - life is drudgery right now for those dislocated by this disaster. Celebrities and entertainers can do much more good by using their talents in a more direct and constructive way. These young ladies are not suited to getting your hands dirty type of work, but they can possibly make a few people smile or give them something to look forward to.

Where is NATO and President Obama to protect the civilians of Syria? I guess because Libya has no significant national interest for the US and the West and Syria does, they do not went to seem crass and selfish and thus Obama and European leaders will stand by and watch the Syrians die.

When will Muslims reclaim the "religion of peace" from the jihadi's? It is a shame that so many moderates have been silenced and allowed their religion to be high-jacked by extremists.

That's like saying all of the bad things that happened to President Bush were because of Democrats. That's a cop out. President Obama (the leaders of an "ultra-Liberal socialist movement") is the only one that can be held responsible for his numerous mistakes. The biggest being the huge debt he has racked up and the change in baseline budgets that has resulted in $1.5 trillion annual deficits. This is his own doing and cannot be blamed on others.
Mr. Cain doesn't have much chance of being elected because there are better more experienced people already running for the nomination. That said, he has had success in the business world and he believes in our nations founding principles. All Obama has done since getting elected president is to jack up the unemployment rate, create confusion and chaos in the business world, run up a massive debt and annual deficits for as-far-as the eye can see, and been constantly behind the curve in international affairs.

How tired do you have to be to sit in a public park like that? Does the man have no pride? Much better to be seen flat on your back sound asleep then sitting in public twisted up like a pretzel. He looks effeminate.

Remember that President Obama has now ended the governing phase of his term and is entering the re-election phase. Over the next 18 months he will be doing what he did during his election campaign - and that is acting like he isn't what he is. All of the initiatives that Obama is supposedly proposing to help relieve gas prices are long term and would be forgotten should he be re-elected. His arch-Liberal base will not get upset about his pro-fossil fuel turn because they understand it is a charade to fool moderates into voting for him.
He doesn't believe in producing large quantities of energy in the US. He prefers to have other countries produce it and then pay to import. He is even willing to give loans to foreign countries to develop their resources while simultaneously seeking to impede energy development and job creation in his own country.

This is a sad but true statement. Democrat's want to take away nearly all individual rights yesterday. Republicans just want to do it a little at a time.
Representative Paul's brand of Libertarianism isn't the answer but at least he pulls the debate away from the idea that socialist ideology can actually solve problems and closer to the Founding Principles that allowed America to become a great nation in the first place. President Obama and those in both parties that try to use political socialism to resolve any and all ills are only destroying what previous generations built.

How smart can a guy be that thinks Socialism is a workable governing ideology. Mitchell, Obama, the US, and Europe are all wasting their time trying to bring peace between Israel and the Islamists that dominate all other nations in the region. Muslims only want Israel to cease to exist and Israel will do everything possible to ensure it's survival. There will be no peace until one side defeats the other. So I would say, in a few more thousand years things will likely be just fine.

He takes his Libertarianism too far but he means well. I can't dislike a guy who wants the government to stop foisting itself into the everyone's business.

Obama can be beaten by just about any "decent" Republican; Romney, Pawlenty, Daniels, etc. Even the Godfather pizza guy would beat him. Obama has been an abomination as president. Why would the Republicans give the election away by nominating Gingrich? Don't see him having much chance of making it through the Fall. I just think he is pulling a Palin/Trump PR campaign. For what I don't know.

Obama had Osama executed. You can't tell me that the Seals couldn't have subdued an old, unarmed, high-value terrorist leader without shooting him in the head. These guys are trained for this kind of thing. Having Osama around down at Guantanamo would have been a constant reminder of how he failed in his first official act as president to shut the detention center down. Plus it would have kept the issue of advanced interrogation techniques in the news indefinitely because there is no longer any serious terrorist interrogation program in effect that Osama couldn't easily resist. To put it bluntly, it would have been an impediment to President Obama's re-election chances. Therefore, he told the Seals to kill him on the spot.
