By all indications, this was a premeditated terrorist attack by a Muslim man infected by Islamic religeous hatred. Of course he became disliked by his peers - he was basically telling them that he hated them because they believed in fighting terrorists. Any of this crap about him have PTSD is just that - crap. He was never been in combat. He became radicalized for some reason and was in a perfect position to attack the US military from within. It will be interesting to know if he was ever in contact with anyone else that may have influenced him to do this or if he decided on this by himself.
I've heard that he was upset that he was not treated well in the military because he is Muslim. So after yelling "Allah Akbar!" and killing and wounding dozens of soldiers he hasn't done any favors for other Muslims in the service.
This was an act of terrorism and I wish the media would report it as such. To do otherwise is an odd avoidance of the plain facts that everyone can see to be true. Political correctness has gotten out of hand in the media and even within the military itself.

President Obama stated that the economy was the worst since the Great Depression. In response, he pased his nearly $1 trillion stimulus that he said would prevent the unemployment rate from going above 8%. So now unemployment is 10.2% and Obama wants people to believe that he knows what he is doing now? Obama has engaged America in a downward sprial of higher dificits which hinders the economy and requires ever more 'stimulus' creating ever more debt. The only way out is to stop growing government and encourage economic growth. As a socialist, he cannot help himself from growing government and he cannot bring himself to implement policies that favor business and spur economic expansion. Socialism does not create jobs, it destroys them and prevents new ones from being created
Those that argued that annual deficits in the hundreds of billions is manageable were wrong but at least could make a reasonable argument for it. Annual deficits in the trillions is insane and no rational person can explain how to manage such a crushing burden. Instead of facing the ecnomic and debt situation that Americans want him to solve, he is instead pushing a trillion dollar health care spending program! It's just crazy and he will leave an awful legacy that future generations will have a very difficult time dealing with.
President Obama got his economic agenda implemented and the economy has responded by shedding millions of jobs. Man up and take responsibility for your mistakes Obama and reverse course before it's too late.

This is just spin from the White House. It's to be expected - but not believed.
President Obama's team was turning against Deeds in Virginia two weeks ago when things started looking bad for him in the polls. Obama still went and compaigned for him. Deeds ended up losing in a landslide.
In New Jersey, Corzine had closed the gap in polls until Obama's multiple campaign stops over the last few days. You could just as easily argue that Obama cost Corzine the election. Needless to say, the White House would have claimed that Obama saved Corzine if he had won.
The only significant office the Dems won was district 23 in New York. But Obama didn't help that guy at all. Regardless, the guy that came in second was completely unknown until a month ago and only lost by five points. Regardless, it is a good pickup for the Dems considering it is a traditionally Republican district.
I think New Jersey is the big story. A very solidly Liberal state that Obama spent the most time in and the Republican won. Also, Democrats know now that Obama will not be much help in 2010 midterms even in Liberal states. His favorable ratings are just 50% - which isn't horrible. It's just that his policies are less popular than that.
It will be interesting to see how these election results play out in Congress with the Health Care and Cap & Tax legislation soon coming up for important votes. I think these results make it not unreasonable to presume that there may not be any Health Care reform passed at all during this Congress. If there is no health care reform, what will that say about Obama? I think it would say that Dems like Obama but would not be afraid of ditching him in order to save themselves next November. It's going to be interesting...

How about instead of changing the time companies just change the time they start and end work. I've always thought it ridiculous to arbitrarily change time.
As for the sign, it doesn't really make sense. Wouldn't it be better to turn on lights to help maximize daylight? Oh who cares - she is pretty hot!

Obama's team has been defeated soundly in Virginia. The state went for him by 6% last year but will go Republican by 20% or more this year.

President Obama has no choice but to do what North Korea wants - he said he would during the election didn't he? Not that it will change anything of course. North Korea will still pursue nukes and will be all giddy about forcing the evil US to the peace table. But, Obama will give everyone at the UN a warm-fuzzy by being nice to the communinist dictator Kim Jong-il. There will be no change in North Korea - that you can believe in.

President Obama's socialist policies induce high unemployment. Get used to hearing Obama talking about high unemployment; the rate will soon exceed 10% (though he promised it wouldn't go over 8% if the people supported one trillion dollars in deficit spending).

The US put more troops in Iraq and the number of troop deaths declined dramatically. President Obama has no plan now - and he can't make up his mind what to do next. Obama needs to get some courage and make a decision and get things turned around. One gets the impression that he is afraid to increase the number of troops because of opposition from his base. That is not how to lead during a war. He needs to stop campaigning for re-election and get the situation in Afghanistan under control.

He had a plan in April after very careful consideration. Now, all of the sudden he has no plan. What happened to his original plan? Why does he hesitate to follow through with the plan that his "hand-picked" general gave him? Does he somehow understand the military and political situation on the ground better than his "hand-picked" general? I don't think so.
President Obama has stated that Afghanistan is the central front in the war against "man-caused disasters". It's time to step up to the plate Mr. President and take on the enemy in Afghanistan like you promised during the election campaign and reitereated as recently as this past August. Don't worry, conservatives in America will support you.

All of the so called "science" that President Obama seems to refer to has been mostly debunked. Al Gore and the Left are scamming you and making a nice buck in the process. All of their climate models have been wrong. There has been a continued increase in CO2 emissions over the past 11 years and global warming has not been occurring. Global warming has not reached unprecendented levels over the past 50 to 150 years. Anyone that knows how to use a search engine can tell you that.
President Obama and the Left see global warming as a vehicle to control the lives of individuals. They are trying to scare you into giving up your freedom to choose for yourself. Obama and the enviro-nuts want to hurry up and make some globally binding agreement now because global temperatures will continue to remain flat then decrease based on the current cycle of decline in solar output. They are determined not to let this "crisis" go to waste.

Good to hear that President Obama is going to follow through with President Bush's Iraq drawdown plan that was set into motion before he left office last January. Now, let's try not to blow it in Afghanistan - you know, the war that the Dems call the 'good war'.

I wonder how many more crazies like Anita Dunn who are either associates of President Obama or who are actually in his administration for people to realize just how much of an ideologue Obama actually is. Obama follows in the footsteps of another community organizer by the name of Saul Alinsky - another socialist ideologue - but with the added benefit that he is President of the US. Anita Dunn has stated that her favorite political philosophers are Mother Teresa and Mao Tse Tung - say what? Mao killed and murdered millions of his fellow Chinese, multitudes more than Mother Teresa was able to help during her many decades of selfless personal sacrifice. So Dunn actually admires Mao - a man that outdid another terrible 20th Century murderer whose name shall not be spoken (hint: his name begins with 'H' and was famous for making the trains run on time). Her political thinking is more than a little twisted so it is not much of a stretch that she would be taking the lead in Obama's attack on the press.

CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, and ABC have all been an arm of the Liberal establishment for decades. When talk-radio began to offer an alternative viewpoint, the Left tried to shut them down with the first iteration of the fairness doctrine (which was done away with in the 1980's). Liberals hate opposition to their Leftist propaganda. But there is a huge audience that has not been served by the Leftist mantra from liberal operatives like Anita Dunn, George Stephanopolous, Keith Oberman, and that guy with the tingle that goes up his leg everytime he sees or hears President Obama.
Fox is only one channel that is right of center. All of the others are to Left. But the thing that surprised me is that conservatives are a minority of the viewers of Fox News. The majority are either moderates or Liberal. This suggests that most viewers listen to different channels to get their news. Fox has the largest number of overall viewers because they are different from the same unified Liberal message that the other networks provide to the public. They cover stories that they Left leaning networks do not.
President Obama is displaying the same thin-skinned paranoia that was a hallmark of the Nixon administration. His attacks on Fox News only provide the network greater legitimacy among those that oppose Obama's political agenda.
If Fox News isn't considered a news outlet by Liberals, then Convervatives will feel that they have a legitimate right to feel that way about CNN, MSNBC, etc. Just because Obama doesn't like the news from Fox doesn't give the government he controls the right to stifle the press and free speech. Everytime his administration attacks Fox he lends credence to what guys like Hannity and Beck are saying about him. It's a no win situation to go after the press. Republicans know this because they have had to deal with this environment for decades.

It appears that JT has picked a photo that has generated a bit of discussion about Japanese societies' treatment of women and what they are willingly to subject themselves to to get ahead in life. While I can appreciate an intellectual discussion of the role gender plays in cultures throughout the world, my thoughts are this: Damn - sixty-on is hot!

Community organizing is a great idea, as-long-as it isn't done with money from the government. Bush 41 believes more in community service based primarily on the resources of individuals and companies in the community. Presdient Obama believes in community organizing with taxpayers footing the bill (ala ACORN). There is a big difference between the two. Obama views community service as a means to his political ends. Bush sees it as a way to feed, house and cloth the poor.
