In the past, leaders of stature would never do things to undermine their legacy or to detract from their past accomplishments. I guess this is a good example of why there aren't many great leaders any more.

techall's rational and logical response to USAFdude stating that just because Obama was elected president Republicans (and many Democrats) do not have to go along with Obama's socialist health care plan was indeed a knockout.

President Obama campaigned as a moderate but is now pushing Leftist policies across the board. Obama has made the national deficit and debt much much worse and wants to launch a hugely expensive health care plan on top of that. That is just crazy and shows a complete disregard for the future consequences of such a irresonsible enlargement of government. Obama can go around claiming that there is an 'unprecendented consensus' all he wants but that is just factually untrue.

A more accurate statement would be, Obama and the far Left of his party should acknowledge that Obama is not a dictator and that he should scale back his socialist agenda and work with Republicans and the more sane members of his own party to cover those without insurance without growing the government and the deficit/debt.

Let me see here... when Bush was president, the Congress, the Left and the mainstream media were screaming at the top of their lungs to have any damaging information about the US war effort to be brought forth. Now with President Obama - the great one - anything that goes against what he wants is verboten. Now all of the sudden the president and the Left are concerned about the troops safety. Let's not have any principles or mere concern for your country - it's all about the politics. Well, better late than never I suppose.

When Gore got the Nobel "Peace" Prize for his global warming jihad I thought the Nobel Committee had gone over to the looney side. Incredibly, they have outdone themselves this time. President Obama actually received the Nobel Peace Prize based on 11 days in office! So Obama isn't actually up to God's standards as it took him only 7 days. When people joke that Obama is the messiah I don't think the people on the Nobel Committee laugh.

It's time for President Obama to stop stalling and approve Gen. McChrystle's request for additional troops and resources. This particular event cannot be placed on Obama but down the line it will be if he doesn't implement the strategy he spelled out in the Spring and the advice of his hand-picked General. We have been hearing for years from Liberals and Obama that Afghanistan is a war of necessity and the good war. Well, get on with it already. Indecisiveness will only make things harder to turn around later on (see President Bush's delay in making the change in favor of General Petreus' counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq).

Despite President Obama's "star-power" and incredible personal appeal and speaking skills - which will very soon bring lasting peace to the peoples of the Earth - his gambit to push Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Olympics failed spectacularly. How could this happen to this great man? Perhaps his last minute jaunt to Coppenhagen to overwhelm the IOC with his charm and charisma was seen as grand-standing and a little bit more than arrogant even for this man of such great accomplishments. Congratulations Rio!

Moore is a con-artist that espouses Socialism and whom got his start in the entertainment industry while the Soviet Union was still around. He should know better than to continue pushing such a discredited ideology.

This is vintage Moore, reflecting both the filmmaker’s fondness for manipulation and his strengths as a showman.

This sentence pretty much sums up Moore and his use of manipulation to make his ideological points. Combine manipulation with Leftist populism and you get a propaganda film worthy of an award from Lenin. The man makes a ton of money selling his product via the capitalist system. You have to give the guy credit, he has figured out a way to rail against Capitalism while using it to make a mint.

A huge waste of time and money. The document isn't worth the cost of the paper it's printed on. The UN is a toothless joke with absolutely no respected authority to implement any security-related resolution.

I don't know if groping on public transportation is only an issue in Japan, but it does seem to be a significant problem. Because young girls are so often the target of the chikan, it's a good idea to put together special police units to target specific problems like this. However, there is a bigger cultural problem - the over-sexualization of underage girls in Japanese society. I'm no prude, but I've come across a lot of exploitation of seemingly underage girls. It's almost like encouraging people with pedophile tendencies to act on their impulses.

In Moscow, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin called the Obama move a “right and brave decision.”

So President Obama stabs our real friends the Poles and the Czechs in the back and Putin calls him "brave". Obama is in way over his head. For Putin, it's like taking candy from a baby.

A large number of Democrats will not support President Obama's socialist health care system. Socialized medicine in the US is dead. Time to shift over to more realistic solutions; start with lessening government control and allowing insurers to compete across state lines.

Van Jones just reminds people of Obama's extremism and the extremists that Obama has inexplicably surrounded himself with over the past several decades. How does President Obama press forward with "the good war" in Afghanistan when members of his staff are suggesting that the US government are behind 9/11 and not Al Qaeda and the Taliban? How does Obama say he is post-racial when more and more of his associations are so racially polarizing like Czar Jones. Democrats don't want to see in Obama what all of his associations like Rev. Wright, Flagler, Henry Gates, among others and what that says about him. His associations does say something about Obama himself that cannot be overlooked. There are just too many people like Van Jones in Obama's circle.

Saying that the government is behind 9/11 is like saying that Japan was behind the dropping of the atomic bombs on them during WWII in order to end their suffering in a lost cause. It is a viewpoint that is not based in reality. In my opinion, Obama's precipitous drop in popularity is due to the fact that Obama's policies are now seen in this same light - as not being in touch with reality.
