SuperLib says:
Read the IG's report. In the case of three terrorists that were given the EIT treatment, each of them provided information on operational planning , information that led to the apprehension of other terrorists, or to the disruption of terrorists plots. Very little of this type of information was obtained using the old good-cop bad-cop routine that we are limited to now. Khalid Shaykh Muhammad become the "most prolific" intelligence source after getting water-boarded. The Left is just in denial. Cheney is right and that is what is driving you guys so crazy. The program saved many lives and not a single one of the very few high value terrorists who were subjected to the enhanced interrogation tactics had any bones broken or finger nails pulled out. None were beheaded or shot in the back of the head. Speaker Pelosi was aware of all of this at the time and had no problem with it. Aren't you folks aware the the US military regularly uses water-boarding to train certain special operations personnel? I never heard Pelosi crying about that...

There is really going to be a lot of investigations when the liberal NY Times begins outing more CIA undercover officers. Somehow I don't think the Left will care so much about who outed them as Armitages' outing of Valerie Plame. I agree that we should investigate Pelosi's involvement in sanctioning "torture" and that she should be frogged marched out of Congress straight to a prison cell on Alcatraz island.

Well yes, of course this is just my opinion. I am no more an expert on any particular topic than anyone else posting here. I am not an expert on Islamic extremists but I feel that I do know somthing about basic human nature. If one shows weakness, an opponent who is intent upon domination will take advantage of that weakness. Compassion for an adversary that seeks only to destroy you is indeed naive and idiotic. Releasing this man not only hurts the Scots and the UK in general (including those fighting in Afghanistan) but all countries that oppose tyranical religeous fanatics like the Taliban. These people stone their own women to death who are victims of rape - I don't think they believe in compassion in the way the Scots do. This is a terrible mistake for justic as well. This man was convicted for mass murder - no petty theivery.

Most all of these contestents are very attractive and competitive women. But this is a beauty contest so it's all pretty subjective; I don't think it really matters who wins. It's a nice tradition though and something for each country to take pride in.

The Democrat Left is nearing the point of giving up on Afghanistan. This puts President Obama in a bad position. During and since he election campaign, Obama has touted Afghanistan as the legit war that should be fought and won. Will he surrender when the Pelosi wing of the party throws in the towel? Unfortunately, he probably will. Stay the course President Obama.

Libyan's are praising Scotland/UK and thanking them for the deal that they made in exchange for oil rights. The Scots are idiots. Islamic extremists see this as weakness and they are right.

SushiSake3 says:
The fact of the matter is, Democrats do not need Repulican support for President Obama's health care policy. He has yet to obtain solid Congressional support for it among Democrats. Obama spoke a great deal about bi-partisanship during the election but he has not had any serious health care negotiations with Repulicans. He is banking on strong-arming his overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate. He has the bully-pulpit but the more he speaks the less support he gets from the public. His message is consfusing and contradictory.

An honest debate would start with President Obama admitting that his goal is a government run, single payer health care system. He has stated that this is his goal even if it takes 10, 15, or 20 years to achieive. Obama has made contradictory statements where on the one hand the government will not get between you and your doctor and at the same time he says there will be a panel of government "experts" that will decide which treatments doctors will be allowed to provide for their patients.
The reason that needed health care reform is in serious trouble is because Obama is doing a terrible job of communicating his policy objectives causing consternation among both the far Left and the Blue Dog Democrats. Obama has no interest in working on a bipartisan plan simply because his ideological inclinations do not permit it. For Repulicans, as-long-as Obama pushes for greater government/socialist control of the health care system, they have no reason to support him. 85% of Americans have health care. Of the remaining 15%, most either choose not to get health coverage although they can afford it, or are illegal aliens and are the obligation of their own governments, not that of the U.S. The government run health plans of Medicare and Medicaid are subsidized by those that are privately insured to the tune of 15~20% of actual costs and has therefore increased the health care costs for most Americans. Medicare and Medicaid have unfunded future obligations in the trillions of dollars. These entities would be considered bankrupt if they were privately run. Government health care in the US has proven to be tremendosuly expensive and cannot continue without signficant future reductions in future costs. What we need is less government control, not more.

U.S. attorneys can be fired by the president for "any" reason. Heck, President Clinton fired every U.S. attorney when he took office - some were investigating matters that he had an association with. This is going nowhere but I suppose it is something to buck-up the Left as they suffer through President Obama's slow-motion heath care policy train wreck.

Hey Sarge, I would guess that most of the Lefty's here just think the average American is just too stupid to think for themselves and are wondering why the public doesn't accept their propaganda instead. Those snobby Libs - don't you love'em - always looking out for the average Joe!
President Obama himself in a confused attempt to justify government run health care admitted in his hand-picked town hall meeting the other day that the private sector (UPS, FedEx) does a better job than a government sponsored entity (USPS). Even he doesn't really belive what he is saying.
Unbelievable!

Say what? You have just confirmed my argument. In the mind of Liberals, it's okay to shout down other Americans that disagree with them but it's "scare-tactics" and "un-American" for anyone to question Liberal orthodoxy. As if makng the American's health care system socialist won't cost billions (into the trillions according to the CBO) and the loss of life and quality of life (ie. rationing, limiting treatments, services, medicines, etc.). Hillarious!

I can't help but laugh at President Obama, Democrats, and the main stream media for their hypocrisy on this issue. For eight years, anti-war Liberals shouted down those who supported President Bush's war efforts in Iraq and even Afghanistan trying to scare people with - "this is another Vietnam" and "the war is lost" rubbish. During the Social Security debate a few years back, the Dems scared seniors into believing that Bush was going to take away their pensions. What about the Bush is Hitler and all the Brown Shirt talk about his administration.
Code Pink and ACORN go after people at their private residences and interrupt political gatherings and Congressional committee hearings. At the time, the Liberal media made it out to be patriotic. Awww, but when the target of the protesters is Liberal socialist policy, it's un-American and raging mobs. Man that's hilarious.
Obama is losing. The war isn't over yet and there is still a chance that he could surge back. Well no - Obama is against surges!

Yeah, President Obama is happy to have an exchange of views with those people who oppose his expensive health care plan. As long as those un-American swastika carrying traitors sensibly and reasonably agree with him. Otherwise, they'll be put on the White House's enemies list. Although most Americans do not support socialized medicine, Obama will do his best to ram it through Congress on a partisan basis anyway. In the past, it was considered a necessity for such large programs to be passed on a bi-partisan basis. But now it's all about Obama's domestic agenda so the people be damned. That's change the Speaker Pelosi can believe in...
