As for the political ruckus itself over the use of waterboarding as an enhanced interrogation technique. Isn't it funny that Democrats' don't mind that their own government uses this technique to train our own military and intelligence personnel - and have been for years - but when it is used on a terrorist it's called torture. This fits right in with Pelosi's rather large wing of the Democrat party that cares more about the rights of terrorists than other American's trying to protect the nation. Go ahead and torture those terrible Americans who sign up to protect the country (they are probably conservatives anyway) but don't you dare lay a hand on that Islamic jihadist or I will ruin your life!

Pelosi used waterboarding as a tool to hammer her political opponents for years. It is sweet serendipity to see her being 'tortured' with the same hammer. All of the facts point to Pelosi as being a blatant liear and political opportunist. When you have a Democrat party hack like Leon Panetta calling out Pelosi, it's time to fess up. Democrats have used national security issues for political gain since the day the war's popularity dropped below 50%. This is part and parcel with Sen. Reid's stating that the war in Iraq is lost and then Senator Clinton's questioning of Gen. Petreus's truthfulness and integrity. National security and war are just political opportunities for Democrats to gain powere - that's all.

Pelosi is speaker of the House of Representatives and an abject liar. She should resign for the good of the country. Bring on the truth commissions - can't wait to see the evidence on Bill Clinton's rendition of foreign nationals so they could be tortured. Also, can't wait to see all of the evidence of other Democrats that knew of the enhanced interrogation tactics and did nothing to stop them - yet denounced them later when it was politically expedient to do so.

Did you know?: Did you know that Dick Cheney got Waterboarder of the Year Award (WYA) in 2006 from the Waterboard Society of the U.S., its' respective Colleges, Animal House(tm), and the CIA.

Yeah, I heard. He broke Pelosi's string of winning the award four years in a row from 2002 to 2005; a record of support for "torture" thought to be unbeatable.

Just another policy flip-flop on the part of Obama. He got elected by condemming Bush and now he is just following Bush's policies. It's funny how he just keeps doing what Bush did and his fan's in the press just ignore his hypocrisy. He will not close Gitmo within one year as he promised his allies on the Left. Good for Obama for not yet deciding to unleash the terrorists of Gitmo onto the communities of America. However, I believe that there will be mounting pressure for him to release every jihadist in Gitmo on America soil. That is basically what his foreign and domestic cheerleaders want him to do and only a riot in Congress will be able to stop him from doing so.

Obama is not a liberal, he's a moderate.

Obama's historic levels of deficit spending unseen in the history of the nation and his imposition of government control over numerous private businesses put the lie to any such contention that Obama is a moderate. Obama was the most Liberal member of the Senate and he is now the most Liberal president in history. Nationalizing the health care system is not a moderate position - it is a socialist position that is plainly not moderate.

It appears that Obama has dumped Gen McKeirnan in order to escalate the war in Afghanistan - and potentially in Pakistan.

I really hope this flight goes well. The Hubble telescope has generated a huge amount of information about the universe. Keeping it going a few more years would be great!

This particular picture does makes her look somewhat caucasian but that may just be a matter of makeup, lighting and her particular expression at the time the picture was taken. I don't know anything about her but she is lovely and will likely represent Japan well in Miss Universe.

President Obama appeared to have a great time at the dinner. He got to talk about how great he thinks he is - and you could tell he wasn't always joking.

The Japanese miltary created the circumstances for the Nanking massacre by the harsh training that the Japanese military used on it's men and the senseless military tactics that were used during the war. I don't say this to shift any sympathy to the Japanese soldiers, but the Japanese military and the government all the way up to the emperor, endorsed this sense that a Japanese soldier was superior to any other. These soldiers were fed a steady diet of emperor worship and racism towards any non-Japanese group, people, or culture. There are always atrocities that occur during wars; and these are usually somewhat isolated events. However, the scale of the Japanese atrocities against the people of China, Korea, and many other Asian nations is comparable only to Hitler's atrocities in Europe during the same time period.

Obama isn't going to nominate a judge, he is nominating a legistlator; because that's what Liberals do (ie. legislate) when they are put on courts. And that is just they way Obama likes it - no pesky legislator's to slow down his agenda.

"empathy and understanding" - in other words, a justice that will toe the line of the political left and ignore those pesky words in the Constitution and the law books. At least Souter's retirement won't turn the court to the Left much more than it is now - he evolved into a typical down the line liberal judge. Whoever Obama nominates, you can expect that person to care more about the law in Europe than the Constitution.

I will start to believe anything Al Gore says about global warming as-soon-as he begins to practice what he preaches. He owns mansions, fleets of cars, and travels the world on private jets. It's hard to believe that people don't see him for what he is - a huckster that stands to make billions in profits from this made up catastrophe.

Global warming scaremongers stand to do a great deal of damage to the lives of billions of people. Instead of using resources to tackle problems that we can solve - such as HIV in Africa - Socialists are using this ginned up disaster to deny people their individual freedoms and micromanage their lives. It is just plain fact that the Earth's climate is always changing; animal species are always going extinct and new species are always evolving. People just need to accept that the earths climate changes and adapt to it. The Earth is not sick - there have been times in the planets history where the atmosphere was severely toxic. That isn't a sickness - it's just nature. By the way, human beings are also part of nature and we shouldn't act as if we are not. People need to use some common sense and not do more harm than good by literally buying into the notion that we can control the Earth's temperature.

Ever since Obama announced his new 'strategy' for Afghanistan, things have been going down hill. I Hope Gen. Petreus can overcome the handicap of having such an amateur as his Commander-in-Chief.
