Funny that President Obama's defenders slam conservatives about teasing him about his omni-present teleprompter. Meanwhile, BO spends his time filling-out his college basketball bracket as the economy tanks. Then he goes on television and just laughs about the economic misery that everyday American's are going through.

BO is all about public relations with no substance. The Europeans know this and that is why they are not afraid to pan his wild Keynesian spending spree.

But even those on the Left have to admit, Obama has a tendency to stammer and repeat himself while making off the cuff remarks. That's why his people understand that he needs that teleprompter in Europe.

I disagree. Conservatives support President Obama's surge strategy in Afghanistan. After all, it has been working in Iraq.

The Little Ice Age that ended in the 1850's lasted hundreds of years. It's onset was very quick and it's end was just as sudden. This was a climate change event that had nothing to do with man. Global climate is always undergoing cycles of micro and macro change occurring over very short periods of time and also over thousands of years. The Earth warmed and cooled before humans even existed and it will do so long after we are gone.

The Kyoto Protocol is a feel good farce that is based in a socialist ideology of control over the ability of people to exercise their natural right to freedom and liberty. Copenhagen will be more of the same. Regardless of whether or not a country signed Kyoto or not, most did not adhere to it. Also, don't forget that like Bush, Bill Clinton also refused to submit it to Congress for ratification. He mouthed all of the socialist platitudes about global warming but did no more in reaction to the theory than did Bush. Therefore, it was rejected on a bipartisan basis in the US.

Global warming is fact. Global cooling is also fact. It just depends upon the historical context. The ability of man to cause short term or long term trends of warming (or cooling) is not proven no matter how often you hear a socialist tell you the science is settled. There are plenty of scientists that say that there are other reasons for the recent short-term warming trend. There is a great deal of evidence that solar cycles is most likely the cause for the warming that peaked in 1998 and has subsided a bit since. Socialist ideology does not allow for an open-minded consideration of this explanation for climate change. Ideology trumps science if you reject a theory that supports the socialist agenda. Global warming hype is a perfect mechanism for socialists to hi-jack the natural rights of individuals to liberty and freedom. It is an excuse to take your money in the form of high taxes thus limiting your ability to pursue your own desires. It is an excuse for government to intrude in every facet of the lives of private citizens.

Socialists are using global warming to pursue an agenda - regardless of the science. They know that they cannot prove that man is the main cause (or any cause) of global warming. They also know that it would be very difficult to definitively prove the negative as well. They can always say that we should do something "just in case". There are plenty of people ("socialists) that support their political policies to address this trumped up crisis and will go along whether man made global warming can be proven or not. The science is beside the point.

What is President Obama's exit strategy in Afghanistan? Where is the timeline for withdrawal? What are the benchmarks for success and what if Karzai can't meet them? How many billions will be spent on this war and how many civilian and military lives is he willing to sacrifice? BO's surge in Afghanistan prompts more questions than answers.

So after claiming the surge wouldn't work in Iraq, and still not admitting this strategy has been successful even after Bush clearly achieved his planned objectives for ordering it, President Obama wants to duplicate Bush's surge in Afghanistan. Huhhh??? So now Obama wants to kill innocent civilians and send more of America's young fighting men and women into the meat grinder?

There must be some kind of mistake here. Obama was supposed to make everyone love America. I suggest that someone hire a better translator because I have been personally assured that beginning on January 20th, rose petals would be falling all over the nation as gifts from our new found foreign friends. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei obviously hasn't gotten word yet that Obama is president.

Obama sidetracked by fiscal mess, but presses on

Yeah, let's not let the fact that the government has begun an historic peace time debt binge stop America from enacting the Socialist-in-Chief's big public spending agenda. By all means, ignore the fiscal reality of today and spend like nothing has changed since you started running for president two or three years ago. Is this really the same guy that spent the last two years bashing Bush for running up big deficits? Obama is determined to turn a world-wide recession into an American depression.

After Democrats in Congress somehow decided that it is not at all fiscally risky to force banks to give loans to unqualified borrowers and thus starting the dominos falling on the current world wide fiscal crisis, no one in their right mind should believe that Obama and his buddies in Congress have any idea how to manage an economy.

The idea that he shouldn't change his plans for governing despite the long term fiscal mess that he has done much himself to get America into is incompetence bordering on madness. This is a triumph of socialist ideology over common sense.

"A busload of activists representing average Americans... "

This is aweful journalism JT. The Associated Press knows full well that these are not 'average Americans'. They are ACORN activists. If they actually did any reporting, they would likely find some of Obama's old buddies behind this PR stunt.

The protests rightly should be against Congress for throwing public money at a failing private business. That is what is really outrageous. Take a minute to consider the $165 million given in bonuses to the few to the $182.5 billion (with a 'B') in bailouts taken from all taxpaying American's (now and in the future). President Obama and the Dem's in Congress are a bunch of amateurs at governing.

Ever since Islamic extremists attacked the US Embassy in Iran back in 1979, the Iranians have put up huge signs all over the country that say 'Death to America'. They indoctrinte their youth wth anti-American propaganda much like the Paletinians raise their children believing that Jews live with pigs. Obama thinks he can make friends with the Iranian regime? How naive can you get. Nothing that any American administration has done - Republican or Democrat - going back to Carter has changed Irans behaviour one bit. I got news for Obama and the rest of the Left, appeasement is the absolute worst thing you can do with Iran. Obama is becoming Jimmy Carter II both internationally and domestically.

Hasty decisions make without sober consideration is what caused this problem to begin with. Usurping the Constitution is not the way to handle this issue. The government cannot target selected individuals for retribution. Besides, BO and the Democrats in Congress that so want to express their "outrage" through government coercion are the same people that pro-actively inserted legislation into the recent "porkulus" bill to allow them to have the bonuses. They were not upset about the bonuses then - now they are because they were caught helping out their major political donors.

I don't think anyone in a failing business should get a bonus - why Obama, Geithner, and Dodd believe they do is pure political payback for the dollars given to the Democrat's during the last campaign.

President Obama's administration worked this whole deal out with the Senate. It was their idea to allow the bonuses and specifically put it in the stimulus bill. The stimulus was rushed through and no one in Congress was given time to read it. Well, if the public found out about the AIG bonuses then it would have caused an unroar. No, Obama is not 'really' outraged. He and his people specifically asked for the bonus provision. This is all an act.

I bet this is one of those 5000 meter "marathons". In Japan, any event that involves running more than 3 feet is called a marathon for some reason. Oshikiri is in good form; her knees look just fine to me.

There should not have been a bailout in the first place. However, since the government volunteered to give them a huge bag of money, the company was able to stay in business and is therefore obligated to pay these huge bonuses due to contracts made with certain employees. It's no wonder that AIG needed a government bailout - they agreed to give out big bonuses whether or not the company succeeded or not. Obama voted for the bailout - right? Why didn't he think of this kind of thing before he voted for it. This is the kind of mess that occurs when government gets involved in the private sector. Now, what is Obama going to do - break a legal contract because it's politically embarrassing? Embarrassment is not grounds for violating a contract. If the company went out of business, then yeah - the contracts would have been voided. But since Obama and just about everyone else in Congress voted to save AIG from bankruptcy, the stupid contracts must be honored. Seriously folks, governments should let companies like this go out of business.
