Apparently the 95% voting with Bush stat is a few years old. This year he's voted with Bush 100% of the time. Every. Single. Time.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

The stylist? I'm not sure I'd ask her for grooming tips, unless I wanted to look like Sylvester Stallone's mum.

I would tell my boss something a little more emphatic than a mere no. He's a tool.

How come it's all right for Israel to have nukes in contravention of the NPT, but not OK for Iran to pursue nuclear energy in compliance with the NPT?

And please don't anyone repeat the deliberately mistranslated canard about "wipe Israel off the map". Nothing of the kind was said.

Of course the Whitehouse will deny this charge, just as they squirm and deny all their other mistakes. Remember that classic a few weeks ago? From Dubya's own lying mouth:

"It's never been about 'stay the course'".

The man and his administration are entirely without one shred of credibility. They lied the world into chaos and recession, while Halliburton sat back and counted the money.

If the US needs bases here, then they should pay for the land they're built on at market price. Soon find out how strongly they need to be here then.

Fun Police are knocking on my window...it really defeats my reasoning why any force that wants to be respected would waste its time in the sole pursuit of stopping innocent taxpayers enjoying a festival. I came this close to chinning somebody.

Still - that's the way we're going. Aggrandise the perceived power of the petty officiary and he'll do whatever he's ordered to do.

It could have been a wonderful festival. It's a beautiful picture. Well done to the photographer for capturing a moment of happiness in these oppressive circumstances.

What amazes me about this fiasco is the fact that Republicans want us to believe that the best man for the job is someone who wasn't as good as the disaster we've had for the last eight years - when he was eight years younger and still over pensionable age.

Don't you think he has something of the Tom Waits about him?

I was talking to a number of Japanese citizens/voters today and every single one of them told me they had no idea what the purpose of this reshuffle was, and indeed that Fukuda, in his ten months of office had not articulated a single policy. He has, apparently, done less than the woeful Abe who was hounded from office for being pointless.

One of the more well-connected of them told me that Soka Gakkai has decided that there will be an election in January. Fukuda didn't decide this. Soka Gakkai did.

This is really a very pathetic portrait of an LDP without the slightest clue. I defy any reader to tell me what a single one of these soulless drudges stands for, other than spouting meaningless generalities when pressed for a statement.
