Considering that its often a two way street for us Gaijin in Japan... meaning you are often excused for behavior outside of the norm and also that you are often treated like a King because you are foreign.

I thought the heavy wind we had last Saturday might be the sign that winter was finally over but I can't ever remember such a long and cold winter in Japan. Weather has a funny way about it.... Its kinda like Newton's law for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. The long cold winter... in order to finally be blown north of us, needs extra powerful winds from the south this year.

@lostrune2: Very, very good point. They hold you till you confess. Pull a Steve McQueen from the Great Escape. Just pretend you're enjoying your time alone. Heck... with my wife constantly nagging.... it'd be a vacation.

Yes... they cannot be shown in the USA. Unlike Japan.... a star losses his/her shine if seen too often in the USA.

If they have talent the good. If you look at all the Boy bands from the past the only one that actually had talent was Michael Jackson... I mean real stand on your own big hit talent. Look at the Beatles.... one could almost say they were a Boy band.... and Boy did they have talent!

"Breaks Trust in System".... love it. Its not 1968 or 1980 it is 2012. If the Japanese still had any trust in any government or private sector system then they deserved to be fleeced. The system lost any claim or right for "trust" a long time ago. Nomura, Yamaichi, Daiwa, and Nikko, were all found guilty of many financial crimes years ago. My feeling is that there is massive amount of financial crime that has not surfaced. What were the odds that Olympus, one of the very few companies run by a foreigner, was hiding losses and this particular honest foreigner enlightened everyone. Japan's future is not looking good.... payment is coming due and all the dirt will come flying out from under the tatami. It is going to hit the fan.

This was not your regular Japanese woman. How many Japanese women do you know that even have the guts to get past all the hype of even stepping foot in a scary place like Brooklyn let alone sleeping in an apartment there. She sounds very unconventional (by Japanese statndards) to me. Good for her.... enjoy Barbados.

Did you hear the questions they were asking Cespedes in the "Hero Interview" after the game. Why are these people so brain dead. They asked a Ballplayer what numbers he expects to put up this year. Ballplayers are as superstitious as they come and wouldn't think of jinxing themselves by trying to predict a number. The game was refreshing to watch... none of the constant noise you have with regular Japanese games in Japan. We also saw some very good defensive plays.... the play by Weeks to throw out Ichiro at first was amazing.

I know a couple of guys that had their children abducted by their former Japanese wives and in both cases after the children turned 18 they themselves quickly made contact with their fathers and soon went to live with them They now want nothing to do with their mother and hold an extreme amount of resentment towards them. The narrow mindedness of these women and the culture overall is self destructive.

I say we all pull out.... then we make sure all the Afgans... Al Quaida, Taliban and regular Afgans stay exactly where they are within Afgan borders. While we're at it... we continually firebomb all their poppy crops.

You do a lookup and a guy with the same name who is a criminal appears.... mainly because the criminal had his name in the papers often. Sue the criminal for defamation of name not the search engine.

He said exactly what I'd expect him to say.... exactly what I'd say. As much as I think the Russian Government are a bunch of thugs, they still have a lot of power around the world and we have to respect and deal with that said power. If we just take a very hard line then Russia will do the same back... it is in both our best interest to be "flexible".

In an indirect way this is the most positive story I've read in regards to Japan's future. There may just still be hope for Japan yet.

@2020: You are 100% correct... but I'm not trying to get published in a medical journal or anything I'm just stating my "ancedotal" opinion. In addition.... many, many times over the years my "anecdotal" opinions have been proven to be correct. Observation... observation.
