Patrons in Japan never greet their servers which I think would exasperate the situation. Any time you enter an establishment in Europe, it's good manners to greet the staff. Japanese rare do this. Don't think it was racism either as the French are like this to everyone, particularly non French speakers.

Abenomics is a joke. The only reforms we've seen from his administration are the interpretation of the constitution and the secrecy laws. With the record low turnout, i don't see this election as a fresh mandate but rather a waste of hLf a billion dollars for self perseveration. He a bot-chan. He's not interested in biting the hand that feeds him.

What do you expect when your export business account for only 15 % of GDP. The weak yen has only helped the large multinationals which generate revenues overseas with repatriating profits. Corporate Japan! This government has no idea and is digging a deeper hole with all the printing and asset purchases. Artificially propping the markets with ReIT and ETF purchases. When Kuroda eventually will tapers due to BOj and JGB credibility issues, watch out DOOM day!

I might agree with Japan if people were actually eating it. I can only assume some corrupt officials pockets are getting fat and this sham is to spite the west. Waste of tax payers money and puts a negative light on Japan.

The Japanese media were too optimistic to the point of setting unrealistic expectations for the Japanese public. Either way they tried their best.

Shame. 18 and 19 year olds are no longer kids and the fact that it was multiple incidences implicates the malicious nature. Ok maybe not prison but I hope something is done.

Can't believe they call themselves a research center. There are over a dozen things that could be done e.g. corporate governance and deregulations just to name a few. Hiring babysitters is NOT going to cure Japan's economic problems. Pathetic

No surprise. Japan wants their cake and eat it too. Too many long established vested interests. As the third largest economy with so many multinationals it's a shame as their is so much potential. Apparently tradition in Japan means no change.

Abenomics's allure stemmed from long awaited structural reforms. QE and dismal fiscal spending is far from enough to pull Japan out. The Japanese equity market is limp along with quality demand side inflation. It's no surprise as foreign investments flee

I read a lot about how Japanese food and autos are superior to that of overseas. I'm not arguing whether that's true nor accurate but if that was, why not open up the markets? Let the consumers decide!
