gogogo - you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, so leave it to those of us who build sites for a living eh!

IE7 sucks anyway as does Firefox 3.

I use Firefox just because of the fact that it's more adaptable to what you need. I also use a host of other software to block unwanted sites and cookies. One in particular is Comodo Pro, which is completely free and given to single end users simply because the company that makes it hates the fact that Micro$oft and A$$le keep charging for those oh so important bitsnpieces you need to secure your machine!

You don't need cookies to view a website, and JT you had better take note that from the end of this month, you will no longer be permitted to use Adblocks on your site from Google.

The Michelin Guide is a joke!

Tokyo is a joke too as far as good food goes! Try Yamaguchi or Hiroshima - much better cuisine in both of those places than anything Tokyo has to offer!

This could only be news in Japan where xenophobia means foreigners here with the same resident status as he has in NZ, means diddly squat here in Japan!! Japanese must feel so proud of this guy joining the cops in NZ, but in the west, we've allowed foreign nationals to join our police forces for decades! Get over yerselves Japan!

Japanese people, usually men, tend to be very xenophobic and think they are the only people on the planet! It's great to see this girl enjoying her heritage! BTW, not ALL Japanese people are xenophobic.

Depends on the job and the boss and the money. A Japanese woman will always understand that work takes priority over everything else, so she'll be fine with canceling, because 'Shogunai!'

Well, the point here is that he got caught. He has toabide by the rules.

Yeah, and you're the typical role model reason why Japan is on the decline, because you fail to see the reasons why things happen outside of bureaucratic bullsh!t!

Come back when you have something useful to say that doesn't just depict Japanese standards, instead, it should depict WORLDWIDE standards and understanding!

This is complete Bullsh!t! He's a foreigner and the Jcops and prosecutors are trying to save face in the fact of many other criminal case failures, by making him an example and highlighting the case so much that it makes them seem like angels!

Screw you Japan! You are on the decline and refuse to accept it! So you blame foreigners for the bad things that happen here!

Bullsh!t! This post will be deleted by the moron at JT...no doubt!

Who the hell are NHK to talk about punishment for crimes? It's a case of the pot calling the kettle here! NHK did bugger all about the thieves in its company, and personally, I consider thieves a damn site more disgusting than someone who smokes weed! NHK should shut up or put up - where are the millions of yen their executives stole? More to the point - why are those executives still not behind bars?

Softbank needs to realise that people are not stupid! Charging ¥315 per month for S!Mail, when the iPhone can't even use it, is nothing but a complete and utter ripoff. And when you consider the thousands and thousands of customers that are paying for it, that's a tidy little pocket warmer!

Softbank should offer the iPhone as a regular phone, just like they do any other phone. They should NOT be asking for $800 for a phone that JOBS himself informed the world is only $299 or less!

I will NEVER buy a damn thing from Softbank. They made me feel most unwelcome with their xenophobic treatment and mistrust! I have a perfect credit rating here in Japan and have NEVER been refused something on credit in nine years, nor have I been told that if I pay $800 upfront "We'll trust ya!"

As for KDDI - big mistake to go to them in the first place, but that won't be a problem after October!

    Serendipity:

However, creating an effective virus for OSX? That won't happen ever. Partly because of the way OSX is designed it is very easy to find any malware within the OS and also because most viruses are made on Macs or Linux based systems.

Anyone who believes MAC's are not susceptible to viruses is a fool.

OSX is at threat from viruses just like any other computer. Ain't nothing special about Mac's!

Not a great deal of difference in either service anyway.

Can anyone tell me why Softpant's is still charging ¥315 for S!Mail on the iPhone when the iPhone can't even use it?

Japanese keitai are a rip-off. You can't get a worthwhile pay 'as you go' offering here at all.

You're not looking hard enough son. Softbank has that very service!

Softpant's are a poor service provider and they won't woo anyone to the iPhone by offering this reduced cost! They could try NOT asking for $800 up front and or a credit card! I've had a phone for the complete nine years I've been here in Japan, and never EVER had a problem with getting one, until I went to Softpants.

And for those of you whining about using two hands - seriously, get over it!

    Just out of curiosity...

How well are these batteries likely to hold up under the extreme heat of a Japanese summer? Last thing we need is a car that could potentially blow up right under us due to excessive heat in the batteries.

Also, hope they haven't put the 'push back' system in this one!
