Teachers and schools need to lighten up on the militaristic style of class conduct! I was horrified when I saw my son's kindergarden class being MADE to march in military fashion, with sharp turns included, and some kids being shouted at if they didn't keep in step or turn 'correctly'! That was 5 years ago - and one teacher tried to get in my face when I pulled my son out from the 'ranks'. That was the wrong move on his part (the teacher) - you don't shout and try to tell a 105kg Irishman what he can and can't do with his own flesh and blood! He backed off when I shouted louder than him to the point where the whole school ground went pretty quiet!
Teachers need to realise that they are that - teachers. Nothing more, nothing less. They do NOT have the right to scream abuse at kids for not understanding. Nor should they just be allowed to dictate a topic to kids without giving the kids room to actually THINK!
Parents do have the right to get involved when they think their kids are being picked on or vindicated by a teacher, without reason. But also, parents should allow the school to do what they do best, educate. Yeah yeah, I know, my post sounds like double standards, but it's a never ending circle. I guess times they are a changing, even if that change could be better handled.

A good public flogging with a long bamboo cane is what these little buggers need! 10 lashes each for assault, 10 for robbing someone and another 10 for being out at 4:20AM. And their parents should receive 20 lashes for not making sure their CHILDREN are at home at that time of the morning!!

a) Pop music in general is the garbage of the music world.
b) This group has been going for at least two decades, if not more. It's high time some high profile lawyer took charge of this crap and banned kids from being exploited in such a way, because in the end, the ones making a ton of money from these young girls, are the producers, managers and execs!
c)The parents of these young new members should be downright ashamed of themselves!

As for electric cars, in ten years time you'll realise just how EXPENSIVE they are to run when you get your electricity bills, or have to recharge at the station once every two or three days!! Not to mention the amount of coal and oil needed to produce the electricity to power the charging stations! No one mentions these huh!
I doubt there'll be any great invention in the next decade, but perhaps in another 2 or 3 decades. This seems to be inline with trends of new technology every 20 or 30 years.
Posted in: What do you think will be the biggest technological development of the coming decade, so that when we look back in 10 years' time, we'll wonder how we ever did without it?

Oh, and while we're at it...these people need to look beyond Silicon Valley for such a future, and, Pay.Pal just took $50 from my wife's card, even though it wasn't yet 'authorized' for payments to be taken! Pay.Pal should be renamed to "Hey Pal, we're taking your money!"

I was very very disappointed with Paranormal Activity 2. They should have just stopped at the first one.

I never drive anywhere until ALL passengers are wearing seat belts, whether they like it or not!
illsayit - idiots like you don't deserve to have kids or be on the roads for that matter! It's people like you that are the reason why insurance costs are so high and why parents who lose a kid because said kid went flying through the car at 80mph, blame everyone but themselves! Grow some common sense and until you do, stay off the roads and keep your kids out of your car! If you can't follow rules and regulations that are in place for your own safety, as well as that of your passengers and other road users, then you don't deserve to have the privilege of driving like the rest of us. And no, sorry, your opinion does NOT have a place - chiefly because it lacks the common sense you were born with!
