All of you who are "Can't stand the man!" - shut up! He works hard, and has the balls to speak his mind instead of tip-toeing around like other so-called talento! At least this man has some talent! The younger generation of presenters on TV here these days are pure garbage! I applaud the man for his strong work ethic and tenacity! Shame those of you who express such dislike for him don't have the same!

Japan has no right to arrest anyone and try them in Japan if done in international waters. The Australian and New Zealand authorities have already made it clear to Japan, that whaling in Whale Sanctuaries, is illegal.
Let's arrest the whalers and try them outside of Japan for blatant disregard of the law, nature and the requests of millions of people around the world to put an end to their 'research'.
Protesters have already said they will be finding new ways to stop the whaling. Let's hope they are successful.

Strange he says Japan was gentler than other aggressors, but I don't recall seeing pictures of other aggressors ripping hearts out of victims while they were still alive; raping and sodomizing Chinese and Korean women, in-turn, one after another; killing babies in what can only be attributed to ethnic cleansing; killing women and children for pleasure (just watched an NHK documentary recently where one old boy said he regrets throwing a woman and her child down a well and then throwing in a hand-grenade to 'silence their screams'). Ummm..nope, can't think of any other aggressor who can top that lot.

They could start by placing porn magazines on higher up shelves in convenience stores! It sickens me to take my 7 year old into 7/11 and have to walk past the sad bas**ards reading for FREE, porn manga and other paraphanalia, and for him to have to see this garbage at his eye-level!
Never mind putting the damn vitamin drinks on high shelves, put the magazines there, or better still - put them on the racks behind the counter, then the pervs will have to ASK for it!

I used to have a credit card here, but never renewed it this year! The interest rates are stupendously high and they added to the large hole in my pocket. I will never have another credit card while I remain in Japan - my choice. And if a hotel rejects me because I don't have one, then I simply add them to my list of 'Not to do business with in the future' establishments, along with several banks and stores in my area. Diligence paid off when one bank approached me to offer me loans and business credit when my business took off! It was a great pleasure to slam the door in THEIR face for a change and take my business elsewhere!

Whale meat tastes delicious and is similar to many other meats on the market . However, I don't condone the killing of these beautiful creatures just for the sake of consumption.
It's high time that Japan stopped trying to fob off the world with bullshit excuses such as 'research purposes' when they go hunting whales too. As for Iceland - shame on you too for ignoring international outcry against the commercialism of these dwindling in numbers creatures.

Proxy - dunno where you get your information from, but I've never heard such rubbish in all my life! St.Francis Xavier was not 'tossed out of the country' and certainly not by monks!! He spent just two years in Japan but in that time, converted thousands to the Catholic church! In one journal, it was noted that he aged rapidly in the two years he was here. There was never any confusion as to why he was here - and he was even asked to build his church here in Yamaguchi.
