6 Cars and it is time to bash Toyota again. Government Motors needs to be served! The plan is to scare the people STUPID into buying the Government Motors product. I looked at a new GM car and the thing was already starting to rust on the showroom floor! Why don't they report all of the GM recalls? GM cars and trucks have inferior paint and electrical systems.

Fadamor, Japan already pays for a lot of bases it does not use. Just have to buy the equipment and recruit the troops. Thus it is an equipment and personnel cost. Also the Japanese military does not need all of the luxuries the American personnel receive, ie base exchanges, commissaries, paid for housing, paid electric, etc. Best of all we would control our entire country again and the American occupation will finally be finished. Liquidate TEPCO for clean up costs and use the money to restore our military and honor. So if this is a dare to end the treaty, I say to my PM to give the word.

In a couple of threads I made some bad notes on Operation Tomodachi. I apologist to the American government and the brave troops that made it possible. Run up the bravo zulu flags :) I refuse to turn an act of compassion and kindness into a bad thing. Talked to my cousin in Miyagi and he told be of how the Americans were the first to arrive in his families time of need. No forms, no regulations, just help in their time of need. I found this out not long ago. Where is propaganda when you have lost everything, no food, water and shelter, then you see the Marine Sea Stallion coming to help you? The young Marines rescuing people, clearing away wreckage. No it was not the Japan Self Defense Force. So the Americans have my everliving gratitude for their assistance.

Yubaru, it is not the same at all. The present population has lived there for 170 years, Argentina has a very weak claim to the islands. There last invasion was defeated in 1982. What you forget is the people want to be a part of the UK. How can you compare this to Okinawa? The culture of the people of Okinawa is different and we are not ethic Japanese. Having said that I think Okinawa should remain part of Japan. We just want the same privileges that the other prefectures enjoy. Tokyo could never get away with this with them.

This will allow them to close the plant now. Let the workers take possession of the plant and the bills.

Argentina wants the oil and after the invasion it would ethic cleanse the population. The UK should send even more ships, aircraft and troops. Strength will pursue the censored from invading.

Voice of Okinawa, I must disagree with you on this issue. While I am sure they hoped Operation Tomodachi would help relations, am positive they would of done it no matter what. Americans have tons of compassion, it is the one thing that makes them a "great" people. For all of their faults and we all have them, this is a strength that is unsurpassed in the world. Thank you America for your Operation Tomodachi!

peanut666, Japan can defend itself from a Chinese invasion of Okinawa. Old Soviet trash is no match for our American type equipment.

sfjp330, I do not agree with that "newspaper". My main ah "beef" is with Tokyo. They are the ones keeping Okinawan officials out of the talks not the Americans. Do take note that when the Americans negotiate with Guam, they consult the government there before making any final decisions. I understand why they do not talk directly with the prefecture government as it would not be proper. Though they would have to be blind not to know of the problem. They can talk with the prefecture government about base related problems. The Americans could also work at being better guests. What hurts them is their attitude they are better than the Okinawa people.

napoleancomplex, Tojo and about 1000 other class A criminals became "swingers" at the end of a rope. They paid the price for losing the war against America. They paid for their crimes and since they can hang only once it has to be taken for payment in full.

voice of Okinawa, they refuse to listen to reason. It is always the people of Okinawa have to accept this burden. That they should never speak out against Tokyo or Washington. They are blind to what they write. To answer them, I am positive if given a chance to vote. The Okinawa people would vote to close all of the bases now. Americans only believe in democracy when it fits their plans. It is strange Iraq was a "spoil of war" 8 years ago and they were able to kick out the American troops. It has been 67 years and we still do not get any respect.

realdoll, you just stated the problem. No American state or Canadian providence would accept this from their national governments. Please don't talk about "spoils of war", Okinawa did not start the war. We are a peaceful people unlike some others.

Yubaru, the Americans keep forgetting they are the guests of the government of Japan. They are unwelcome guests to the prefecture of Okinawa. The Americans always have to get their own way on well everything! They control so much land because they do not pay for it. The US Government needs to examine every last plot of land and ask if they really need it? There are large plots of land that are not being used or could be moved to another base. The burden should be on the guests and not unwilling hosts. Second Tokyo needs to include Okinawa people in talks with the Americans.

I ask you how would you like this if it happened in America?
