    USNinJapan2, there have been homosexuals in the toilets before, this just lets them be open. Sexual harassment is sexual harassment, different sex or same sex it is the same. So the guy in the shower with you is interested in the same sex, they have been there all along. So chill out

    Spidapig24, you confuse the past with the present. When I talk about war crimes it is during WWII. The Americans of the present are very different people. I have talked to some American WWII vets and they are well different from the American military of today. As for the Philippine Navy it would need help to deal with China. It is ok for pirates but not China. My point is the Philippine Navy has come to America and Japan for help against the bully Peoples Republic of China.

    smithinjapan, the Philippines has a joke of a navy mostly old American WWII stuff with a 1960's coast guard cutter. Japan has a modern navy that would give the Chinese hell in any fight. Add the American 7th fleet and the Chinese are crispy critters. Like the Clint Eastwood movies, Japan should tell China "do you feel lucky today punk?"

    Konsta, China or Russia invading Japan? It is not going to happen, the Russian fleet is a shadow of what it was in the cold war. Some of their ships carry depth charges! The Japanese ships look like modern American ships. There are also more of them and the American 7th fleet is there to back them up. MCAS Futenma adds little to the defense of Okinawa. Having said that let the American base stay in Okinawa. I took your advice smithinjapan and moved to a undisclosed location. Really there is no money and no cooperation from the local Okinawa people. Cancel the move and keep the current base open. It is too too easy and a no brainier. Just stop the F-18 flights and noise complaints will go down over 100 percent. As to the others, the Frogs never bothered me. The Sea Knights did not bother me as well.

    Spidapig24, no Japan will wait and be patient. Yes I agree and Japan was small time compared to the killing that Russia was able. Then again there is still the Gulag in Russia. No Comrade Japan will never surrender to Russian thug. Say the wrong thing and you too will be in the gulag.

    BessonovYan, these islands were home to Japanese people. Second the Russian presence is right up against our home islands. So any military exercise that is held is next to Russia. About the 2 bear bombers, they would be easy kills for the sdf. I did not respect the flights at all. So Comrade why should Japan meekly sign over all 4 islands? Russia is so big and has so many resources while Japan does not. Oh FYI, the Americans did not clean off the Okinawa people like the Russians did the northern territories.

    SamuraiBlue as far as I know all of the victims countries have been compensated. No just because the Imperial government were a group of thugs does not excuse the current government. However Japan has done the right thing but it is never enough. Any member of the Imperial government has died. Even those alive are dying at an ever increasing rate. Our new PM was not even alive during the war. While remembering the past it is up to the other countries to forgive Japans trespasses of the past and work on a new future.

    Serrano, will defend lots of things and the Japanese Imperial Government is not one of them. Yes I believe the military set up brothels and did whatever it took to staff them. What happened to these women was inexcusable.

Are you being sarcastic, I hope you are.

    The people of Japan did not consent to the government. Like in Korea the military used force to install itself. Japan did not have a Democracy when they emerged from a feudal nation to a modern nation. The democratic movement was literally killed off. The military ran Japan by the time of the 30's. So all Korea wants is for the Japanese Government to admit they ran the brothels and apologize?
