    One thing is for sure: If the attackers were white, the Australian media would be screaming about racism in capital letters.

    So it is sure to be another ethnic group. Giving the track record, a group of immigrants adhering to the Religion of Peace is a pretty good bet.

    Come again? Osama Bin Ladin preaches pure islam, so how do want to separate the two?

    And nobody said anything about Al-Quaida; if the UK wannabe-bombers got any aid from Al-Quaida is something we don`t know, and it does not matter either.

    They are totally logical if you are convinced that life on earth is not important, that the only thing that counts is eternal life in paradise with 72 virgins, and that the best way to get to paradise is to die while killing unbelievers.

    And you don`t need any selection or brainwashing for that, all you need is a religion that preaches all this, and to take it seriously.

    Where is the surprise?

    As usual, a little background knowledge helps when reading statemens from fundamentalists. In this case, one should check how islamists define "innocent". We Westerners tend to use our definition of word -- assuming we are innocent, unless proven guilty. Not so. In the islamist view, unbelievers are guilty by default for the crime of... well, unbelieving. So, Zawihri is not condeming the killing of e.g. Christians and Jews.     Right. Both Maliki and Al Sadr declare victory, so everyone is happy. What could possibly be wrong with that picture?

    The basic conundrum is still there -- Bush et al continue to believe that a democracy can be developed with approval of both Shia and Sunni clerics. That was insane, is insane, and will remain insane.
