Hello Sabi-Wabi, can you tell us what a "muslim-looking" person is? Do I begin look muslim if I convert to Islam? Looking forward to your expert opinion.

The more mosques we build all over Western countries, and the more fundamentalist clerics are preaching the true religion, the more of these home-grown jihadist we will get. This has nothing to do with Al-Quaida or grooming. It is simply the result of our idiot concept of "freedom of religion", even for political movements.

Tactical decision, thats all. They are being trounced right now, so he lays low for a while. Anyway, he is studying to become an Ayatollha, so he will come back with much more authority than before. A Shiite muslim will follow his Ayatollha no matter what.

Sarge, little problem there: This scumbag says he has god on his side, and his followers believe him. And fear of death does not impress people who think they go to paradise for fighting for god.

The US stepped into this mess, insanely relying on religious nuts to create a democracy (a concept that is blasphemy if you believe Gods law should rule earth), and now they are stuck in it.

Reality check: Basra was controlled by the Brits, not the US. The standard propaganda was that once the Brits withdrew, peace would break out. The Brits withdrew, and (surprise), instead of "peace" Basra got the terror rule of the Sadr militia. Now the central government wants to put the Sadirst in their place, and we are back to the usual cacaphonia of "blame the US"... even though the the US never even showed up in Basra.

How nice to know that there are not terrorist anymore. The thugs of the Mehdi armee are, according to our news media just "fighters". That is what the do... fight. What noble profession, perish the thought anyone could see something wrong with that.

I mean we have destroyed the most of the country, might as well destroy the rest of the country before the democrats put a stop to the U. S.’s carnage.

Ridiculous. If the US is dropping bombs, they are doing that on behalf of the Maliki government, which is battling the Mahdi armee. The wisdom of acting as Malikis airforce can be questioned, but "destroying the country" is a stupid description.

And the Democrats will not put any "stop" to any "carnage". Obama has already said that he will return when Al Quaida opens camps in Iraq after he pulls out.... meaning that he will pull out and then move right back in. In other words, look forward to a gigantic, stupid, moving exercise.

Al-Sadr knows that this can only be resolved through negotiations with the government.

Ridiculous. Al-Sadr wants to be the government, so what is there to negotiate? Either way, the US plan of turning Iraq into a democracy with the help of the Shiite majority remains a pipedream.

Turkey only has a token contingent in Afghanistan, and the idea that the islamist-leaning Turkish government would actually seriously consider to help against the Taliban -- their Sunni soul brothers -- is laughable. It does show how seriously deluded the Bush government is about the nature of the islamic threat.

"Religions" can not bully a whole nation; only one particular religion can and does. The amazing thing is that the West still believes it can appease the muslim fanatics by giving in to them. Don`t they realize that nothing short of full adoption of the Sharia will suffice?

Perspective: The flying Jihadists killed that many in one day in NY. And many times that will die when they manage to set off their dirty nuclear bomb in a US city.

Which is of course not to say that the Iraq invasion was well thought-out or well executed. But these death-matrices are meaningless.

It does not matter if any "surge" is working. The point is that Shia and Sunnis will slug it out in Iraq the moment the US withdraws (and the Green Zone will receive daily rockets as if it was next to the Gaza strip). It is time for all politicians to acknowledge reality, instead of peddling illusions of one type or the other.

There we go. Self-censorship in action. The religion of peace must not be criticized, for fear it behaves less than peacefully.
