Enjo kosai = girls offer services vs sites and guys take advantage.

Might be as small as having a cuppa together or more sexual, depends on both parties.

In short "enjo-kosai" is a term for teen-prostitution. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a a fool.

Does it matter if you pay for sex with a fancy meal, a LV bag, etc. You still paid for sex.

Doubt it, look up the meaning of prostitution.

    Guys.

Will the oyaji get it if the teens don't offer? Who makes a 13/14yr old sign up to a dating site for sex?

Agreed, that the club-owners, etc should be penalized. Don't get me wrong not saying I approve of it.

But it is human nature if there is a demand some people will offer and others will take advantage.

Same way if you look at the west if a club has a rules of no one below 18 you cannot get prosecuted for taking a teen home you met there. Yet the clubs invite teens, etc to get male customers. And if you think otherwise.

    Nuff said

    May it be sarcasm.

The teens are as much a part of the game as the adults, don't under estimate the teens because they are "minors". Yet, the teens face little punishment and they know it as they are "minors" and thus manipulated by adults in legal terms.

Time to crack down on teen crime and hold them responsible, IMHO.

This is where modern criminal justice and judeo/christian values got it wrong, IMHO. Back in the day a 14yr old got married and were considered an adult and tried as such.

What has changed = very little.

Yet, many will still claim that the teens are misguided and don't know what they are doing. Who made those teens sign up for date-clubs, etc. Who held the "guns" to their head.

IMO, the teens who are willing just as much a problem as the oyaji's meeting them. But when it comes down the oyaji's get jail and the teens = nothing at worst a slap on the wrist.

Not even saying this is japan specific as I knew of the same on-goings in the west when I was a teen(many decades ago).

But the teens know 100% what they are doing but get off free.

I find nothing wrong with love-hotels.

First night in Japan we spend with a friend of my wife in a 6-tatami apartment. 2nd was a Love-hotel.

They are cheap/clean and often cheaper than a business hotel for a stay. So many Salary-man frequent them, not for sex but as a cheap luxurious accomodation for the night.

I see the benefits of them as the majority DON'T allow prostitutes to frequent them. Some areas even prevent foreign females taking in a japanese guy due to said prostitution.

    HTH.

Very interesting article and I can relate as an european.

Said that I did my national service(compulsory) and I think it benefited me and my country-men. Also lived in countries that been actively at war and talked to vets, etc.

Most countries have moved on from their own aggression days may they be european, asian, whatever. Yet, I still see a few countries cling to the past trying to glorify it and their actions and how they benefited others.

Which, I think is sad as they haven't moved beyond a mindset that existed 70/100/200yrs ago.

Japan, Europe, etc made their choices. Granted they might not be perfect and a knee-jerk reaction to what they suffered during war and occupation but lets respect them for it. And I understand where they are coming from.

Occupation of any kind includes suffering/soul searching by the occupied nations. Prisoners in the german camps were NOT freed for months, for them the guards just spoke english, russian, etc vs german.

How many nations had their country and industries reduced vs their occupiers whose homes were untouched and never faced violence at home. I and many other could tell stories.

That is all that those countries are asking for. Understanding and not the constant harping on "Being grateful we saved you", etc.

    Just my view.

40 milion a year is a LOT of money.

Guess it narrows her field way down to top-executives and other Tv-personalities. My guess she like many others will have to lower her standards a LOT to get hitched.

Personally, I don't care. Japanese can see I am NOT Japanese but got NO idea where I am from so they use a label that describes just that. When you meet a middle-eastern looking guy/gal do you know their origin country or if they even grew up in your country or not.

Answer: You don't and thus assign a suitable label(may it be racist/discriminatory, etc).

    Just standard human nature.

Agreed if the terms are used in an obvious manner to ridicule/lower you than it is a problem.

Ok, lets ban the G-word. How much reduced has banning of the n-word and stopped calling them "boy" changed the scene? Answer: NONE.

People will be racist when the want to be. Ban a word and they will find a new one.

It is NOT the word but how it is used and the inflection on it. Ban one and they will find another one. Kindergarten/Primary school should have taught you that one.

In short it is NOT the word but how it is used and inflicted by the user. It can even backfire as with the N-word where it can end up as a source of pride/respect.

    HTH.

    Tkoind2.

I agree but if it isn't the G-word it is something else they will use. Same way that landlords across the globe will find excuses not to rent to certin people. Regardless of laws.

Same all over the globe. No news, move on nothing to see.

    Ok, take another viewpoint.

Lets say you got your family into a real pickle, status and financially. You committing suicide allows them to go free of blame/shame and at the same time provides them with enough funds(Life insurance, etc) to move on with their life's.

So by taking your life you might be giving your family a helping hand to move on or you could still be alive dragging them down further.

So taking your own life might be an ultimate sacrifice due to your love and concern about the well-being of your family.

Like I said another viewpoint not endorsing either.

Legally no-one cares if he carried or if he was setup.

He was caught with the stash, rest are excuses in legal terms. Courts don't know if he got stuck with the stash or if he carried it himself. All they know is he got caught with it. Who put it into the case don't matter.

Said that his story about his trip was also fishy to start with.

Courts and legal systems deal with facts not hear-say stories.

I agree, the story sound fishy.

And police DO NOT worry how the drugs got in the bag but go after the owner of the bag.

Even if Nick was a Victim he WAS in the posession of the drugs and no-one else. Posession is a criminal offense last time I checked.

Racism in SA was always goverment instituted not on a personal level as it is in most countries.

Races got well along during apartheid, except for the few radical elements. Problem is that the ANC(kohsa) promised that they guys would take over white housing, etc. Which never happened. The few that moved into "white" areas soon found out that houses are NOT furnished as on TV and that their Rand50 payments for FREE electricity/water/etc didn't apply. Never mind that their loans went up xx.

In short racism in SA was always more between black vs black, put a sotho/khosa into a Zulu gang he was dead at end of shift, etc.

The Zulu major group was always pro-white but a minority/radical group got into power.

I can get more into details, just not on here.

    Forgot to add.

Seen guys blown up at bus stations by the ANC, Mandela was a leader of their military wing.

Just saying very different from what was shown in the media. I worked with a LOT of blacks, muslims, etc and we all got along. ben to their homes in soweto, etc. IBM manager has a 6 bedroom mansion with pool, tennis-court and 4-car garage in Soweto. Like any city it has its poor and rich areas but only the poor ones are shown on western TV.

    Yeah.

I lived in SA from 1987 to 1997. So I seen the country during apartheid rule and after. Also seen the violence in the townships, etc.

A long way from what it was portrayed in the western media. I could tell stories, same way if the africans wanted to take over they could have done so a looong time ago as each household employs 1~2 atleast. Letting them cook, clean house, look after kids, etc. Not surprised at all at current events was just a matter of time.

Said that during the 1994 election a lot of "blacks" voted con-anc as they could see what was happening. I.e.: increased Utilities(which were fixed), housing loans(again fixed and lower than for whites), etc but no increase in salaries. Add to that increasing immigrants from northern countries and you got current situation.

Said that NONE of the current african residents in South Africa are native s they moved in after the whites killed the hottentots, etc so the country don't truly belong to either.
