I might get hated for this.

But, IMHO, by continiously bringing up this issues in the media you are propagating what should have been gone decades ago.

To me it looks like people try and want to enforce their personal status(call it superiority) by using such words to refer to themselves or others in their group. Kind of like saying I can use it and you can't touch me.

Controversy sells for sure but I read a LOT of stories like that from the USA that yet claims to be most cultural diversity, integration, harmony, etc. Yet, similar stories don't come from other countries

Sorry, to say it don't look like it from the outside the stereo-types are still well and truly alive and many will use them to enrich/further themselves. Talking about rappers, etc.

This is not a thing only used by african-americans but also used by other groups.

Race like religion, etc still seems to be big issues in the USA. In my home-country I don't even know the faith of our leaders(don't matter either).

Actually as a matter of fact if they state their faith and publicly declare that their decision is based on it they are goners. This for me is separation of state and church, I elect an official for his capabilities/political views NOT for his religious or race views or even sex.

Going back to the current US election I see a lot of fuss over racial/religion/sex issues and those IMO divide the people more than give a proper picture of what the candidates stand for politically.

    Just my view.

Most cels in japan can use Infrared and blue-tooth, but blue-tooth is a problem as it leaves you open to outside cyber-attacks.

    Whereas infrared is more secure.

Tons of "Cold Cases" worldwide and many cases take years to get resolved.

Not that easy to get data from a rotting corpse.

This is NOT the CSI Tv-Show where they solve crimes within days, never mind that a forensic guy can interogate and arrest people.

If you know true forensics, they rely a lot on maggot, etc data to determine time of death.

One of my friends got it, but he is an apple freak anyway and got nearly all their products.

But he will use his mostly for work when he travels overseas, as it allows him to leave the notebook behind.

I think as mentioned that you can't use the phone one-handed for texting will be a major factor for many. And the "no-hole" for straps.

So I see a limited market for it in japan, given that many features that are the norm here are not included.

    Gyudon.

How far does history go back for you 100yrs, 200yrs or even longer to the millenia that your ancestors come from.

Lets face it the USA(as a country) is still a fletchling state in human history. This is not slight.

But a fact, the USA still has not been around for the time that other empires have been around (may they be british, mongolian, greek phonecian, whatever).

I know americans don't like to hear it but european, african, etc history is also theirs, if you think you can leave the shores and thus the history/repsonsibilities you are way mistaken.

    Just my view。

    Kirakira25.

Point is will you do it again?

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my 1st trip but I won't do it again. Yes, it is tougher than the guys want you to believe and takes longer than advertised.

But when all is said and done, I paid a ton(for nothing) and won't do it again(maybe with son and family/right thing to do).

This is from someone that grew up close to the austrian/swiss/french alps and also did the rockies and the drakenbergs in South africa.

    This is the offical word:

The lawyers for Omar Khadr, now 21 and still at Guantanamo, released the 10-minute 2003 segment on the Internet early Tuesday before releasing about eight hours of interrogation footage in Edmonton, Alberta, in the afternoon.

This is straight from CNN: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/07/15/gitmo.tapes/index.html

Same can be found on BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7507216.stm

Personally I wouldn't read too much into it.

And how does he put it up and maintain it from Gitmo without access to a PC. Some people really need an injection of real-life.

That don't mean I am pro or con him.

Had fun once answered to 2 ladies turned out to be jehova's, all they asked if I gave them permission to drop a flyer into my mail-box. Told them I was a buddhist(works great on jehova's).

Haven't had a prob with them for the last 5yrs.

How come? The care-taker company that services our building put up notices that any type of sales WILL NOT be accepted and prosecuted.

We had serious probs after the building went up, people pretending they were sent to fix our kitchen filters, coat the bath-room, and what not. Had about 4-6 calls a day of guys pretending to help us and being send by our care-taker company.

If they come I simply cut them off via the intercom, they ring again and I put the cops on them.

What helped in my last apartment when they came(no central lock) was me opening the door and telling them in english to get lost. Those guys are scared of facing a round-eye who is ready to throw them out.

Those notices are now the norm in my area and they seem to work.

    Zero00.

Some of us climbed the Alps(Europe), etc and Mt Fuji is just a let-down when compared.

You think a Fuji sunrise is better than a Matterhorn sunrise?

    Who cares.

Just another movie designed to make bucks and appeal to a certain crowd.

From what I seen in the movie, nothing there that hasn't covered in chop-socky movies for the last 3+decades. Same for red-belt, etc.

But the current generation will suck it up as it is "new" to them. And generate more members for the fake MA crowd that want to emulate what they see in the movie.

    I am somewhat with zybster.

As a military person you trained that your are better, tougher than the guys out there and thus superior. Needed to do the job at hand.

This has been proven across the ages. But it causes problems as many can't switch it off. NOT a US thing either but common to trained and conditioned military personnel.

So it is not a US vs japan issue.

De-programming for US forces started after Vietnam as they found a lot of probs with soldiers/Vets.

I have friends that ask me for help adjusting their aggression years after they left the service. Those are the lucky ones as they realize their impact on family and their surroundings.

They know they been conditioned and can't let go.

So it is not a US vs Japan issue for me. But how about citizens/soldiers are misused for a goal.

Posted in: The serious crime rate for U.S. service members off their bases is approximately half that of the Japanese population.

Japanese law is like the majority out there.

There is an appropriate response and people can also do a "Citizens Arrest".

Apart from that once the cops arrive(after the fact) they DON'T know who is the perpetrator so it is "Guy vs Guy" for them. And 99% of people involved will claim Self-defense on BOTH sides. Which means they will treat everyone equal same as any court.

If you are found to use means above the thread-level you ARE an aggressor and can't claim self-defense, etc. What it boils down to by helping someone you might end up in troubles yourself. NOW that is legal terms.

Which means that a "criminal" gets the same rights and protection as an "upstanding" citizen. Wait till they find out about your unpaid parking tickets, etc.

In short unless you got evidence to support your claim you are in the doo-doo. Hence, why everyone in a bar-fight gets arrested.

More to this but it would take too long.

    My experience on the climb.

Hit it with 2 of my japanese female teachers at around lunch-time. The taking of our money started at the base-camp. From the stick onwards, etc.

Climb started easy, once you get past 5th base forget nature/vegetation, just rocks and a winding road.

It ended up as an exercise in frustration, tons of people, climb route was badly maintained. Every time we hit a hut they took guys for their money. Want a burned mark on your stick = 300yen. Need about 20 to cover the ascent.

All we did along the climb was see red rocks, steps that collapsed and tons of people that were a hindrance. Buy anything on the mountain and you PAY. So we carried supplies. Weather was fine.

Honestly, I saw nothing beside rocks and poor path, the few huts we hit tried to take us for everything we had.

Finally we hit the top-hut, and got served food at 700yen(child portion) that I can buy for 50yen. Refills, etc NO WAY JOSE unless you pony up. Sleeping/resting quarters, drop your bag for a pillow and share the blanket with the guy/gal next to you. Couldn't even stretch the legs.

Sleep, no way every 30 minutes you get woken to ask for guys/gals for the next ascend.

Finally did the ascend in the dark(freezing cold). Made it to the top and waited for sunrise. NO show it was cloudy.

Descend was fun too, try running down a mountain on a criss-cross road of loose stones, etc.

Going down hurts and tires you more than going up. Got to base-camp and need to wait for 2hrs to get on the bus to get a train to home.

End-result: I paid a ton for nothing and would have paid more if I was not prepared. Never saw the famous sun-rise as the weather didn't play along.
