If the core is partially melt down, radiation level is not very lethal. However it will still produce the radiation which is harmful for health. The individual safety is depending on the nuclear safety knowledge, distance and core temperature.
US and Russian governments are taking the extra precaution for their safety now. Many people still have a unwanted memory of three miles island accident of 1979. Knowledge has a power of protecting the unwanted consequence. If there is no transparency, the people will not aware about their safety.

You might come from another planet. Mainland Chinese does not care about their government statics and data. What they care about is their retirement and medical safety net. Many Chinese feel they missed out from the China economic miracle.
For the dude comment, How big is China population and land? How big is Japan population and land? It is like a western fairy tale of David and Goliath. In the reality, size and speed does matter. No one can be always winner or loser. Being a loser means not end of the world. Japan lost the second world war. However it became the economic powerhouse within a few decades.
For economic development three major ingredients required. First one is huge, explosive and sustainable market. Japan has limited population, natural resources and land. Japanese market has already matured as old lady. China market like a sweet teen who is keep growing. In term of market, China is more promising than Japan.
Second one is strong leadership and touch management. As a democratic nation, Japan lacks the speed, drive and efficiency like autocratic China. In China, they can design, negotiate and implement the infrastructure project within a few days. For Olympic village project, China destroyed many old buildings with lightening speed. Residents have to accept the minimum compensation. In Japan, it is unacceptable. In China it is just a bad luck.
Third one is high saving and capital flow. As a individual Japanese are high savers. However Japan cost of living is more expensive than China. When transfer the saving into business investment, China saving is more fruitful. Their politicians can invest and spend the public money without the majority votes for diet. For capital flow, China is supported by thousands and thousands of oversea Chinese community. Japan is not supported by oversea Japanese community which will be so small.
However it is a big challenge for China for sustaining No 2 spot. They have inequality between have and have not. If No 1 default the large debt from China, China can slip into No 5 or No 6. According the Chinese proverb, nothing will last forever!

Who cares about becoming No 3 of the economic championship. Most of the Japanese banks are still black and no need the hand outs from tax payers and Government. The objective of bank is protecting the people assets and cash. Not for ripping off the depositors. Not for crippling the economy of the nation.The strength of economy can be also measured on the Foreign reserve amount, GDP, sovereign debt and national saving.
For the foreign reserve amount, Japan is No 2 behind China. Comparing with their huge population, vast land and oversea Chinese network, Japan is destined to become a second champion of foreign reserve. Japanese Government has huge debt however it was borrowed from citizens not from foreigners. Japan will not become and behave like Greece, Iceland or Ireland. Japan does not need the beg from European Union. As a individual , Japanese saving is higher than most western nations.
Japan was an only nation in the world which was nuked and ruined to ashes. Postwar Japanese transformed ashes into high rise buildings and infrastructure. Phoenix can be risen again from burning fire according the legend.

The original green hornet series were made in black and white. Actually Kato who is kicking chauffeur in the series is a Japanese according the script. His only weakness was his thick accent for American english.
However Jay Chou is not suitable for this character. He is a successful pop singer. However he is not charming and talented like Bruce. There are many good looking Japanese American or Chinese American who can act and perform better than Jay Chou. They are better looking too. Hollywood make movie Geisha story memoir before. They used bad acting Chinese actress for that Japanese Geisha story. How stupid? There are many discrimination about becoming an actor in Hollywood.

The atmosphere of President Hu visits 2006 and 2011 are completely different. In 2006, US has not faced the Wall street crush yet. Economy is not worse like now. Sovereign debt has not passed over more than a trillion. Personality of Mr Bush and Mr Obama are different too. Mr Bush is not matured and thoughtful like Mr Obama.
The way Mr Bush treated to his banker was not a polite manner. Mr Obama has a wisdom. He understand that offending the banker will get the unwanted consequence for national interest.
The other word is protecting the US dollar as reserve currency and foreign investment flows. For job creation and raising the government revenue, foreign investment is badly needed right now. Texas and Dallas has got many business deal just before Mr Hu visit. It is good for local people who will get jobs and infrastructure.
Although there are many difficult outstanding issues, economic and environmental co-operation are badly needed for both nations.

According the history, China was an impoverished nation of the earth for more than a thousand years. Everything in the life has cycle. Rich will get poor. Poor will get rich and vice versa. It is their time for getting prosperous.
As a nation with huge population and vast land, there will be many problems. The worst is the corruption of the provincial government and inequalities among Chinese.
However their economic development is more sustainable and lasting longer. Not like a debt ridden lassie fare free market style economy. In the reality there is no free market. Market is manipulated by special interest group.
Their half socialist + half capitalist model is more realistic with the real world. For sustainability, They still need to balance the growth. The most important thing is stamping out the corruption.
It is time for cheering the new found wealth of poor cousin. Not jealousy!

Now a days, missiles or ship navigation were controlled by GPS. Who can orbit invisibly in the space or hiding underneath of ocean will control the rival fate.

Extreme nationalism will promote the war, blood sheds, body bags and more hatred. History has showed no nation was extreme like Japan or Germany. New generation have to realize that their forefathers stupidity. Because of that narrow minded nationalistic people, the second war was started.
Because of their arrogance and unrealistic ideology, Japan was an only nation in the world which was nuked. Many Asian nations suffered Japanese cruelty during the war time. Japan was a villain of the second world war.
Japan surrendered the Allied force unconditionally in 1945. After 65 years, they have lost the memory about the bad old days. It is time to move on with peace, smiles and friendship. If not, there will be more Hiroshima and Nagaski.

The sad truth about extreme nationalism is brainwashing the future generation. Not only Japan and China tought about their kids how to hate and dislike the neighbours. Koreans school books also potray Japanese as evils. Historially, culturally and liqusitically they link each other. Physical appreance are not much different as siblings.
The biggest problem for today young kids have to behave like extreme, immatured and unwise adults from Japan, China and Korea.
However Japanese business are mushrooming in China. Chinese tourists are flooding into Japan too. Who care abour these protesters. The bucks does not stop with them.

Tea party movement was originated from Boston. At that time, British empire was charging unfair tax to the tea industry of colony. The fearless, confident and determinded people kicked out the tea boxes and bags from the merchant ships. It was a direct changllenge to the never sun set empire. However current narrow minded tea party members are unlike our forefathers who struggled for fairness and independence. They are political opportunists and media chasers. Their fame will not last long like spring flowers.

During the lunar new year, Chinese tourists spent the money like no more tomorrows. They bought plenty of digital cameras, flat screen TVs and mobile phones. Some even bought Japanese luxury cars. They spent more than western and other Asian tourists. One fruits seller from shopping district told me it was the most pleasant time in her life. Her business was blessed by high Chinese demand.
As per capital GDP, China may be lower than Japan. However their purchasing power is very strong at the moment. Their cost of living is relatively lower than Japanese counter parts. Imagine two guys who is making same income. Minus the living expenses and transportation cost. The equation is favourable to Chinese side. Poor cousin is richer now. It is time for making money! Not jealousy.

I have not read the book "When China rule the world". So I do not wish to comment about it. However I have read the book "The coming collapse of China" by Gordon Chang. The book was published in 2001. It has been almost 10 years now. It is absolutely rubbish and LOL. On the contrary, Gordon chang residing country has collapsed financially. It is on the mercy of the creditors.
I do not understand that he is so negative about his ancestor birth place. Whether we like it or not, China is superior economically. It has enormous amount of publc saving. During the cris, the government can afford to spend for infrastructure projects for stimulating the economy.
The beauty of one party ruling system is an efficiency. They can decide the budget, location and design within a day. Everywhere in China is mushrooming with the construction projects. These projects will get the return in the long term such as high speed rail network. Country townships are started experimenting the universal health care system like Canada or Australia. Chinese do not like debating in the senate or parliment. They like building the power plant, highway and airports with the maximum speed.
Culturally and historically, Chinese are big savers. They prefer cash over the credit. Individual saving and stable trade surplus protect the china as great wall from global economic downturn.
The another advantage of China is a huge consumer market. In the past, economists predicted China will not survive without the north America market. On the contrary, China has own domestic vibrant consumers. they underestimated the Chinese consumers purchasing power and urbanization. At the moment, China export markets are weak. The growth come from rural area and less well off western regions of the China.
China political system has both weakness and strength. The weakness is corruption and nepotism because of the one party autocratic rule. The strength is they can implement the necessary restructuring promptly during the touch time.
Their GDP is reasonable although not spectcular like before. They have already maintained their growth for more than 30 years now. China reformed the economy since 1978. The question is whether they can sustain for another 30 years. If they can they have performed the herculian task.

It is very hard to describe the meaning of genuine friendship. In the real life, most of the friends are fair weather friends. It is understandable that someone who is facing the hardship will not get many intimate friends. Social network friendship from web lack the normal intimacy. Friendship can not develop overnight. It is a development of trust, impression and comfortableness.
Even two people who has same interest does not mean they are real friends. For example, I am a regular Chess player. I wish to meet and befriend with skilled chess player. Actually it is my narrow interest for entertaining myself. It is also observing the strategies and improving my skills. I can be called myself as fair weather friend too.

Back in 1960s and 70s, Japan was a sporting super power of Asia. Comparing with those glorious days, current winning medals is so little and negligible. It may be lack of funding or sponsorship.
Neighbouring China and South Korea have performed better than Japan for most of the olympics. I was amazed and impressive about South Korea's winter sport competition which only have the half of the population of Japan.

In conventional theory, US is a first world. China is a third world. In the reality, US is a borrower and China is a banker. Making fighter jets and diesel sub marines need a lot of funding. Because of china finance, US firms can afford to manufacture the advanced military hardware. Including the research and development.Therefore China by herself is partly responsible for that consequence.
According the economic theory, printing money instead of using the circulated money will make the currency worthless. If China wish to punish US, it can sell or convert the holding of treasury bonds. It will make all investors lost the confidence about dollars. Markets will get huge panic like 2008. Dollar will become the history of global reserve currency.
Possible replacement of dollar is Chinese yuan. If Chinese money become a global reserve currency, US firms will lose the markets and funding. Some Asian nations are trading with Chinese yuan instead of dollars now. In their view, dollar is unstable and losing the value.
Without proper funding from government or oversea investors, advanced weapons manufacturing firms will no longer afford to survive. They will ask china for forgiveness and finance. If Taiwan want to buy new military hardware, they have to order from European firms. Europe is more independent from China.

Many third world nations have high morality rate. The reason is Mal-nutrition, unhygienic and poverty. Many of babies were born with birth defect too. For encouraging every nations to increase the birth rate is economically irresponsible. Who will feed and educate them? How about health care?

Some men lack the progress for sex. So what? Is this end of the world? There are many reasons as I posted before. Physical strength, physical disability, Stress, culture, Social and economic factor, living atmosphere, custom, belief, confidence, preference, taste and interest. Some men made good progress.
