Zenpun> Sorry to sound harsh in my first post, but I stand by my statement that it is attitude such as yours that many Japanese men suffer. It has nothing to do with porn and more to do with men being uneducated about sex and to replace such inadequacy in society, these men downplay sex as part of a loving relationship and illogically places negative stigma to men who do like sex (with 1 or many partners). Please stop blaming (the rich men/nasty girls) others and start doing something about enjoying your life....yes life is cruel, we all suffer but it is upto you to do something about it.
It is OK for your apology. Think before you posted. After posting, people have already seen your post. They have already judged your harsh personality with your post. Who care about what they think? I do not care about what you think to me either!
You do not really understand about my post. You are criticizing Japanese men for not having sex. As I posted before,most people from lower social economic background will be alone without sex for rest of the life. Not only in Japan, most parts of the world. It is not their fault. Even they wanted a woman, they are not acceptable and desirable for any girl or woman including prostitute. We can not blame homeless, unemployed people and low incomers for not having sex with women. They are disadvantaged for the competition of opposite sex.
Someone who afford to visit saloon or love hotels are middle classes and business people. I have known many of these men. Some are married men they are not happy or fulfilled the pleasure with their wives. Some are singles who is looking for cheap and grumpy physical relationship with with fast women. In some cases, they got STD because their partners also have multiple partners too. Most of their women are fair weather minded and opportunistic. Some were cheated and conned by their partners. They are not really happy and relaxed men. Their minds are clouded with greed and lust.
Some decent and thoughtful men want to minimize the sexual partners. They prefer the quality instead of quantity. The other reason is they want decent, faithful, pure and honest women or girls. Sadly their dream can not come true too.
All men have their preference and taste! In the reality, very few of them get the one what they want. These men prefer the good heart and honesty than sex. They will enjoy when they can have sex with someone according their standards. If not they prefer not to have sex at all.
Generally speaking I have more respect to latter than former.
There is some benefits of having sex. Too much sex and beyond the capacity is not good for health either. Human can be cloned with embryonic stem cells. These babies are healthy, smart and strong like normal babies too. You worry too much about extinction of human race. Human can have sex any time and any season. There are many ways of strengthening reproductive system for both sex even it is weak.
The world has already over populated. Sex between loving couple is meaningful and enviable. Sex without love is not much enjoyable. Human race will survive until the end of this lonely planet.

It is not about a typical mainland man. Mainland has shortage of women and many men from poor social economic background will never get the relationship or spouse. It is a cruel reality. Besides that not having sex is not the life threatening problem. Sex without affection likes eating rice without curries. AV actress has performed very well in their motion picture. In the reality, they are acting without the real feeling or emotional attachment.
Some men want to have many sexual partners as much as they can. Some are not! Being as rich and famous men can attract the girls and women like magnet. However most of them will just get the fair weather girlfriends or fair weather spouses. Some crippled men have decent, attractive and nice female partners. It is obvious that they are not able to please their partner physically or financially. There is a strong bond and emotional attachment between them and their spouses.

There are two types of Japanese males who are between 30 to 60s. Some are crazy about sex and watching AV movies and erotic magazines most of the times. Japan has produced more adult movies than Asian nations. They are not reluctant to go to Saloon and love hotels. For them sex is just for fun and they are not serious about the serious relationship with an opposite sex. Some are homosexual. Some have both male and female as sex partners. Their life style is unhealthy and risky.
Some Japanese males mostly employee or salary men are stressed out from their works. They are too tired for having sex even they have wives or girlfriend. Atmosphere of living is also not encouraging. They has little privacy in their tiny apartment. Big cities are crowed as sardine. Noise from neighbors are annoying. Visiting love hotels is not always possible economically. Some are also embarrassed about being seen by someone he knew. Japanese expats living in oversea can enjoy more sex because they have larger space, a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and less people they knew.
Most of these men believe that having sex with someone who he really love or being loved is wonderful and enjoyable. For westerners sex is just a normal activity like sports. Sex can be bought with an expensive dinner or gifts. For true oriental men, it is not desirable. Some will feel like trading without soul. We can not judge all Japanese men as one stereo type.

What PM was saying is "Equal Justice for both citizens and US service men."Some service men committed serious crimes however some are still free as birds. Some got a minor punishment". It was because of their privilege and biased policies from both authorities. If a civilian resident or citizen committed the similar crime, there will be a different stories.
Southern islanders are fed up as second class citizens in their own land. They wanted the equal status, equal rights and equal justices. They wanted mainlanders to share their burden and pain. The time is up now.
Genuine friendship means sharing the reward and punishment together," If not it can be called as fair weather friend.

You confused yourself with your post. You have not read previous post between the harper and me. We are debating about Whaling history in Queensland. Whaling has been existed in down under for more than a century. My argument was native are pioneers of whaling and against the wild life. Some towns and bays in Qld have been founded with expense of whales.
Many people wanted to take easy credit with saying by themselves as real American, Australian and Canadian. Actually they are not. My argument is how many generations have they lived there? Have they really assimilated to their adopted nations? Are they economic refugee or fair weather residents? I have lived in Oz for more than eighteen yrs with Aussie passport. Am I a neutralized citizen? Yes! Am I a real Australian? No!
If you want to use the word "native", it is more debatable. Genuine native definition is deeper and hard to accept it. Even Japanese and Filipino are not native of their nations. Political correctness is not helpful for preserving the conservation. Let 's treasure the our mother nature heritage and treasure the wild life.

If you are European decedent who have live there for more than three generations, you are Australian. However you are still not native Australian by my knowledge. Native Australian known as Aborigines are real meat lovers. They even ate Koalas or Wombats before. Not to mention Whales or Dolphins They ate almost everything before the government protected some animals. Therefore native are against the conservation and wild life.
If the fishing ship intruded Australian fishing zone, Navy has to catch and send them to jail. Appropriate fines can be made to shipping companies too. In my opinion, it is more effective way. Noise from media is just boosting for personal image.
He is a political opportunist who is not shy about getting public and media attention. His comment is purely for domestic consumption. In my view, he and George Bush are not matured and wise enough to be the leaders.

I am anti whaling activist too. However I do not agree with your PM double standard. You may argue that I am defending for whaling business. Actually I am not! As a tourist, I have limited knowledge of sunshine state. My figure may not be accurate as you said. I treasure the wild life and appreciate as you.
Some Aussie are not happy about PM outspokenness too. Pls read the native Queenslander or Austrialian post here.

PM feel he is superior than anyone else. He criticized his host Chinese government openly infront of students with Mandarin. Chinese authority prefer him to converse privately in meeting. According the Australian media I have read, Chinese are very upset about his bluntness even his Chinese is very fluent. He is so undiplomatic and bossy.

Sound like " Do as I told you. Not as I did it before". If comparing the slaughtered Whales amount for building the bays with Japanese whaling, I think whales amount of building bays wasted more lives. PM home state or sunshine state has made big bucks with Whales suffering and death. Queensland sand has more blood of whales than anywhere else until 1980. History will judge hypocrisy of PM.

Not only Japan is whaling nation. Norway and Iceland too. Aussie also has to sue that Scandinavian nations. According the history, Moreton Bay Byron Bay, Harvey Bay and some towns were founded with expense of whales. Whales have been slaughtered for more than a century in down under. Sadly these area became tourist attraction. As a tourist I feel guilty about visiting the popular bays. Whale watching in that area will give me the unpleasant memory of Whales suffering and death .
Falcon or eagle is the national emblem of US. Slaughtering and eating this treasured animal will be crime and deserve to be punished with the leather injection. Same rules should be applied for roos. Lamb are so cute before they become meat. Instead of eating them, I prefer to eat myself.
If PM and his fellows are vegetarians it is convincing me about their sympathy of wild life. However they are not! Traffic should be two way.

Republicans went to war for making business. Irag has no terrorists but they have second largest oil reserve in the world. Conservative delivered contracts for war to their buddies. They wanted more public funding for their cause. Irag war alone costed one billion for a week for security since 2003. No wonder US got high volume of huge debts. They knew Irag has no WMD before the attack. They had admitted later on.
It was a old fashioned stereo type argument and offended the people of New Orleans. This area has high unemployment and poverty. It does not mean everyone is lazy and begging for handouts. There are some honest and hard working people. During the Hurricane, the people with cars survived because they can ran faster. However the people without cars had died. You can not blame someone for not buying the car. Reconstruction projects were also incompetent, corrupted and full of mismanagements. It was a legacy of incompetent Bush admin for last 8 yrs.
During the French revolution, French Queen said to the noisy people on the road as "If you have no breads to eat, why not buy some cakes to eat it". I understand why Reps are so out of touch and lack of compassion. They have never been in the victims of natural disasters. Mostly never worked as private sector employee. They are political opportunists who like sucking public finance for their interest. It is the tradition of GOP. No wonder they lost so much seats in the election!

Of course. After the post war Japan was under US administration because allied force occupied the Japan. Allied force wanted to change the Japan political system and mentality. During the Meji restoration, Japan has already modernized with western technology. Japan was the most advanced Asian nation for science. General Douglas was credited for law and order and transformed Japan into Constitutional Monarchy.
However economic development was driven by Japanese people. Without their energy, motivation and selfless sacrifice, Japan will not become the economic power. Special thanks to postwar US admin for proving the market and security. Without them growth will not be speedy like that. However they forced Japan changing the currency value. Since then Japan has lost the competitive edge. It is a double edge sword of development.

Moore is absolutely right about urging Japan to recover the postwar spirits and brotherhood. Social security is absolutely necessary for the small land with limited resources. It is also the reflection of the caring civic society.
Japan lost the war in 1945. Infrastructure were destroyed. Economically broke and lost the international standing. Post war generation adapted and the new reality with selfless attitude and unity. Government was also efficient for co-ordinating the economic development and well being of the people.
They sacrificed themselves for less well off people and the development of the competitive industries. Their contribution and upgrading of skills, social welfare and infrastructure has transformed Japan from Ashes into modern industrialized nation. During the postwar, there were some hunger, poverty and disorder. However they have energy, ambition and can do attitude for the better future.
Current homeless, inequality and unemployment are more hopeless and helpless. They are also less motivated and less disciplined. Government is also corrupted and wealth distribution is imbalanced. Tribute to the post war generations who made the Today Japan.

While I was reading this article, my computer is playing the song "Who'll stop the rain?". That song was popular during the anti Vietnam war movement. The war started at 2002. It is longer than Second World War and Vietnam War. Too much resource has been drained and so many lives has been lost. It is time to stop the rain.

Of course, when US sneezes, China gets the flu because their economies are intertwined like Bonsai plants. US got the swine flu and China flu was normal one. Before US was the largest consumer and China was the supplier and financier.
Now US wanted China needs to open the market more. This is not easy. Because China is still relatively poor except for some booming cities. Even their government encourage the people, the older and less well off people will be reluctant to spend.
They had the unpleasant memory of famine, chaotic power struggle and bad history. If China has the safety net, universal health care and social security system, it will become the reality. It is still a long way to go to implement like US new health care system. China is still not a super power. US is a military superpower however not in the economic anymore.

Actually, financially the situation is the same. US government's measurement of inflation is fundemenatally understated and has been so for 30 odd years?
Because of the Reganomic economic theory during last 30 yrs, their financial situation is different now. US stock markets were driven by humors and speculation. According the Reganomic, market has own magic. Let 's markets wild, prosperity will fell from sky. It was just a fantasy. Current US interest rate is almost nothing. It has no room for lower again. If it is lower, the rate should be 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and so on.
If the interest rate rise again, economy will shrink and unemployment will rise. Because of china, japan and gulf nations purchasing of treasury bonds, inflation has not sky rocketed. Over circulation and printing of money will make inflation higher and higher.
On the contrary, China bankers are very prudent about their lending. Their markets do not tolerate the speculations and excessive risks. China can control their property prices with regulation. Not with over heated market. Fundamentally, their monetary policy and banking system is sounder and superior.

There will be arguments about which nations belong to the East Asian community. He has a dream about forming the regional group like European union. However there will be many generations to unite the East Asian nations to form the large group like that. Geographically, India is located in South West of Asia. Australia and New Zealand are located faraway from south of East Asia. Every nations has trade protection about sensitive area such as agriculture or finance.
His dream about forming Europe style regional group will take many generations. Historically, Inter racially and Culturally Asians are disunited and hyper-sensitive to each other! They do not trust each other too.

It is true that China has huge problem with inequality & corruption. So do us. At least they treat their ethnic minorities for favourable treatments with concession for university entrance, more babies production and Public sector employments.
How many people from Okinawa and Hokkaido got university degrees? How many homeless and underprivillaged got volcational education? Our politians are corrupted and mishandling the public finance too. No nation in this world is perfect and clean except the USA.
