Shame on Israel: The five Palestinian sisters were fast asleep when a night-time Israeli airstrike hit the next-door mosque in Gaza. One of the walls collapsed on to their small asbestos-roofed home and they were all killed in their beds. The eldest sister, Tahrir, was 17 years old, the youngest, Jawaher, just four.

    The surviving sister blames Hamas.

    "How many were you?"

[Girl] "Seven. In the other room were my mother, my father, my yonger brother and another sister, who is 13 days old. I say, Hamas is the cause, in the first place, of all wars." [Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas) Dec. 29, 2008]

Read the report. Watch the video.

Pray for her safety and well-being.She could lose all her relatives and Hamas will still brand her a traitor.

Militant Islam's apologists just don't get it - Islam is the only religion in the world that makes the slaughter of those outside it basically a sacrament.

That is not the same as saying all of its followers are potential murderers. But a precedent - with civilisations clashing in magnitude of its consequence - was set by its founder which makes possible (and legitimate for many believers) different sects and factions within Islam going 'fundamental' or 'radical' (in the original sense of the word) when disputes or power struggles arise.

Calls for reform or waiting for an 'Islamic Reformation' are little more than exercises in wishful thinking, product of a naive paternalism which would make those on the largely anti-Xtian, anti-religious Left blathering of such nonsense cringe if they could grasp the irony of trying to insist the history of the Christian West is to be the history of the Mohammedan world - it's just a matter of time and dialogue.

As with calls to end slavery in Islamic lands or to combat Islam's well-known but little-discussed institutional misogyny, those outside Islam making these demands are unaware that Islam's founder practised and or endorsed these practices. And to devout Muslims, Mohammed is *al-insan al-kamil * - "the perfect man."

Israel cannot have peace by taking away Palestinians dignity.

    Palestinian dignity?

Hamas recently authorised crucifixion as legitimate punishment in Gaza under the Sharia law they have vowed to implement there.

Dec. 25, 2008 Caroline Glick , THE JERUSALEM POST * *Both Iran and its Hamas proxy in Gaza have been busy this Christmas week showing Christendom just what they think of it. But no one seems to have noticed.

On Tuesday, Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a Shari'a criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, it legalizes crucifixion.

Again, I judge them by how they treat their own.

Where is the "dignity" in hiding behind women and children and executing the children of your rivals in Fatah?

Where is the international Left's outrage when Egypt fires on Palestinians?

Maybe some of the armchair warriors here should get themselves over to Gaza, defend the "Palestinian" cause. You're not 'chickenhawks', are you?

No comment from Louisiana's new Republican governor Bobby Jindal? First Republican (and "non-white") elected to that office since the Reconstruction.

Vanity Fair's Editor Battles George Bush Graydon Carter is one of the biggest names in US magazines. Now Vanity Fair's editor is gunning for George Bush.

    [...]

Carter has turned his normally innocuous monthly Editor's Letter into a campaign for 'regime change'.

    [...]

Carter is now turning to Hillary Clinton as America's saviour. He believes she is the only Democrat with the 'X' factor - charisma, toughness and a certain je ne sais quoi that makes her a natural leader.

This weekend it emerged that he is also writing an anti-Bush book and, he told The Observer, has been campaigning behind the scenes to get Hillary to run for president 'right now'.

It's so easy shooting holes in stories like this.

Islam has a long history of beheading. The cult's founder had his enemies beheaded. It's in the Q'uran.

    It isn't.

Egypt's foreign minister is blaming Hamas for all of this.

Yes, it definitely complicates President-elect Obama's foreign policy when the Palestinians' Arab neighbours start to sound like the Neo-Cons.

"Rosenblat’s believers included not only his agent and his publisher, but TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey..."

The most famous talk show host in America, basically the Left's answer to Rush Limbaugh, whose salary almost rivals hers. But that is where the similarities end. Oprah fell for this guy's ghoulish hijacking of the Holocaust, for James Fry's druggy mythomania, and more ominously, given her influence, she fell for the emptiness of "Hope and Change."

Hamas came into Gaza and began assassinating members of the existing Fatah security "apparatus", denouncing them as conspirators and in some cases even executing the children of their rivals.

They wanted a showdown. Anybody with a brain in their head could have predicted this outcome.

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk reports (Dec 26)

The Taliban have ordered the closure of all girls’ schools in the war-ravaged Swat district and warned parents and teachers of dire consequences if the ban is flouted. In an announcement made in mosques and broadcast on radio, the militant group set a deadline of January 15 for its order to be obeyed or it would blow up school buildings and attack schoolgirls. It also told women not to set foot outside their homes without being fully covered. “Female education is against Islamic teachings and spreads vulgarity in society,” Shah Dauran, leader of a group that has established control over a large part of Swat district in the North West Frontier Province, declared this week. […] The militants have also prohibited immunisation for children against polio – claiming that the UN-sponsored vaccination drive is aimed at causing sexual impotence – causing a sharp rise in cases of the disease.

It is well known that the opium trade is how the Taliban finances much of its Islamo-fascist agenda.

The European market is their biggest cash cow.

Does this not shame the pro-Euro, sham pacifist Left?

Seems alliances in the region have been altered.

    The BBC reports:

"...The Egyptian foreign minister has accused Hamas of not allowing injured Palestinians to leave Gaza to seek treatment, even though much-needed medical supplies are waiting at the nearby El-Arish airport."

A video on YouTube confirms it; the Egyptian Foreign Minister blames Hamas.

Good. I have no problem whatsoever with that.

It's win-win. They want martyrdumb; Israel and the rest of us want these orcs off the planet.
