Well, to all those homophobes, and call it what you want. I'll be glad when it passes and the DADT is over with. It's as asinine as a segregated military. Just keeping those who scare you away from you. < :-)

Molenir, Why should gays have to hide their sexuality? I'm not saying that that need to be giving details of their sex life. But to say that they can't live with their gay partners or that they have to stay in the closet is requiring US citizens to be a second or lower class of people.

Well, I'll not say much more about this except to restate that you are a homophobe. < :-)

    Sarge, that's a crock decision.

By the Army's current standards it makes his heroism moot because he's gay. It makes his value as a soldier less than a hetrosexual male because he's gay?

But a we know, Molenir would have no problem with this hero right up till the point he says he gay. Then he's only 1/2 a man. Not worthy to protect the liberty of Molenir or anybody else. < :-)

    Molenir

Now if you had said, after they got out, some former members of my unit told me they were gay, I would have accepted it at face value. Its totally believable. But you have to accept, that when you make some far out claim, people aren't necessarily going to believe you.

Maybe I should have rewritten history for you. You're story sounds like the Texas education system rewriting history.

It's amazing sometimes to read the rantings of homophobes. Sure you can serve and possibly die for America, but don't you dare tell me your a homosexual. That makes you unfit to serve. When the country can only muster up no more than .07866% of it's citizens to serve this country and you want to limit that even more. Real smart. That's why we signed up unfavorables to go to Iraq, because they couldn't get suitable enlistees. < :-)

For those of us who think this is a real disaster, I'm sure we hope this effort works.

For the Rush Limbaugh crowd, you're not concerned. It's like just a little leaks from the ocean bottom. Idiots. < :-)

Sarge it wasn't clear to me. Thank you for your clarification.

You're the one full of B/S. You ask an question, I answer and you call me a liar. Who the hell are you? You never served with me. You never knew these men.

Again, Molenir runs his mouth, doesn't believe what he's told and resorts to calling someone a liar. Real class act. < :-)

I'm amazed at WilliB's comments. We've got a catastrophe of major proportion and you seem to think it's no big deal. You've been listening to Rush to much. He's good at saying, "It'll evaporate." "It oozes from the ocean bottom all the time." Not in these quantities. If there were leaks like this through the oceans we'd hear about them. I've never heard of a natural oil leak like this. WilliB can you please show me a reference of such an incident.

This is past "sensation-driven" or "lawyer-infested society". This will adversely affect the Gulf of Mexico for decades to come. But you sluff it off. Wow. < :-)

What is wrong with openly gay soldiers in the military Molenir? < :-)

Accidents? There have been mistakes, failed BOP tests, concrete not pumped in properly, bad batteries, alarms turned off and I believe the list goes on. These aren't accidents, these are lapses in SOP and safety. These aren't accidents, these are screw ups. Accidents, ha. And you want to give them a free pass? < :-)

I proudly served my country. I had gay personnel in my unit and they did their jobs professionally and in the highest manner. I'm not aware of any rapes or assaults by gays during my years.

Sarge, what's wrong with gays in the military? Can you reference an experience that made you so against gays in the military? How about you MistWizard?

I say get rid of the ban. < :-)

WilliB, I've got none. But it appears that neither does BP. We've been waiting for over 30 days for BP to cap this mess and they have failed miserably. Where is Halliburton and their concrete? But no they played weeks trying to capture instead of stopping. < :-)

I'd have started pumping in mud a long time ago.

If I couldn't fix it I'd have spoken up a long time ago. I canm't do it, I want help. But that's against BP's practice.

They have been trying to figure a way out so they could keep it in operation. It's a lost proposition now. < :-)

Hm-m-m-m-m Obama is fighting two wars that were started by the prior president. One started justly because we were attacked, but poorly managed for over 6 years. Then he started a war based on lies and enuendos. I'm perfectly satisfied with Obama.

I'm also happy with the fact that he doesn't go around threatening everybody with military actions. Obama's working with our allies to either make peace, reduce nuclear weapons and material and to keep us safe.

Obama is a good example of leadership and not a self appointed dictator like bush. < :-)

good, because your dear Sen Reid is out. Many more to come. :-) Do you EVER disagree with Democrats? You really are a strict party-line shill.

Well, sure I do. Just not a lot lately. As for Sen Reid, he'll be replaced by a democrat. As for the elections in whole, sure we'll lose some seats. It's been forecasted ever since the last elections. But with politicians like Rand Paul, I'm not worried.

But back to this bill. I'm glad that some controls have been put on Wall Street and banks.

I'm not sure why Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac wasn't included in the bill. < :-)

    Sabotage - "NO"

    Stupidity - "YES"

Yeah there's a lot of oil that naturally is released from the ocean's bottom, but not at the rate that we're seeing from this leak. Sure small amounts of oil are released, but not 500 Million gallons in a period of 30 days.

You boys have been listening to and believing Rush's rhetoric too much. He's a blithering idiot who needs to pull that half of his brain from behind his back and start thinking with a full brain.

I hope this pushes the energy industry to start moving toward wind and sun. Accidents like this don't help the environment, even though there are posters who down grade it's damage. < :-)

goddog I see your concern or the image you want to reflect.

I love listening to Rush. He's almost patting BP on the back.

That's the same as those people who want to get past this, why establish blame and we need to drill offshore without restrictions.

There is a lot more damage we're going to see. The destruction of coral reefs, shores and so much underwater life. < :-)

Egalityranny Ps-s-s-st. I said Obama is doing what I voted for him to do.

Before he was even elected he said it would get tougher, etc... But it's like this is all new to you.

    Probably is, too. < :-)
