5 members of the SEC commission.
2 republicans voted against the investigation
2 democrats voted for the investigation.
1 independent voted for the investigation.
It's very apparent that the republicans want to gloss over this issue and not going after GS. < :-)

I thoroughly understand the situation. They have been thumbed at by the Obama administration. It's another case where Israel cries for attention.
The world is currently working on the Iran situation and it's like Israel has to say, "Iran threatens the world", like this makes it more dramatic. I do understand SuperLib. I just don't buy Israel's whining again. < :-)

Egalityranny how much did GS give McCain?
I'm hoping that there are republicans that aren't so bought by Wall Street that they won't see the light. Not to say that the legislation is fine just the way it is. The democrats need to open the door wider to suggestions.
Get this bi-partisan act together. < :-)

Since you can't come up with an incident in recent history where Iran has outright attacked another nation and we know Israel has... there seems to be a bit of Iran-phobia.
I don't particularly want to see Iran with nukes, but we know Israel has nukes. As far as I'm concerned, they are both full of cabbage. And they love to use their rhetoric to get attention and flex their muscles, like anyone is really scared. < :-)

When did Iran attack another country?
We sell weapons to damn every country, so we, by your definition, attack lots of countries.
When did Iran take an offensive action, by use of their forces, against another country? Simple question. < :-)

SuperLib, I don't care for Israel or Iran. But question, when did Iran attack Israel? Did I miss something? When was the last time Iran attacked anybody?
Israel has nukes. Iran wants nukes. < :-)

Why didn't Israel attend Obama's nuclear conference. Is their non-attendance supposed to convince the world that they don't have nukes.
Israel has threatened that they will bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. Their threats are no different then the threats from any other country. They have shown in the past that they will attack without and if it takes they will lure their enemies into a war, by attacking and then denying it.
Israel needs to try to honor their agreements and UN resolutions just like they demand from their neighbors. < :-)

Iran may be a threat to the whole world.
With Israel's having nuclear weapons, I consider Israel no better than Iran. < :-)

Bagsey have you even been in the military?
If so, would your unit commander have put up with this kind of trash?
The military is a fighting organization, not a music center. I don't remember a single military occupation that required music as a part of their focus except the service band.
I can guarantee you that if he takes it to court and sues the military for their actions, he'll lose hands down. < :-)

Bagsey I haven't heard of a single ban on Rap Music by the DoD or any individual branch of the service. Please enlighten me if I'm incorrect.
You've got 1000s of men with weapons with live ammunition. You have a member of your unit all pissed off that he has to serve past his enlistment. He's not going to pull his weight, he's going to upset the tone of the unit, he's pissing off unit commanders, his compatriots and causing a deterioration of morale and you're concerned about his rights. I'm much more concerned for his life, the life of the men he's with and the deterioration of the cohesiveness of the unit at large. < :-)

Bagney it had nothing to do with the rap style. It was the message.
It appears that this soldier initially enlisted out of some reason that meant something to him, i.e., education possibilities, a way to get away from home, patriotism; but he became disallusioned over having to stay in past his pledge.
Sad end to a proud service. Not an initial mistake as alluded to by NationalistRE. < :-)

Free Speech is good, but when you're a part of a military unit carrying guns and rifles, it can go too far. He didn't need to be deployed after casting this opinion. He could get hurt by a soldier who took offense to it. Just not worth keeping him around for everybody's good. < :-)

Egalityranny, how much did these same companies give the republicans?
Sen. McConnell goes to NYC to see the Wall Street tycoons and he comes back against the regulations. McConnell is bought and paid by Wall Street also. < :-)

This is a case of theft and conspiracy to earn the almighty buck. This isn't anything new. It's the rich stealing and hurting the little guys. These packages of mortgages were packaged together and those who might have been able to rework their loans couldn't because it was impossible to pull individual loans out and reworking them. Home owners couldn't find who owned their loans.
And if Sen. McConnell gets his way, these investment instruments will never be changed. He's been meeting with Wall Street and they have been crying the blues to him. He knows where his bread is buttered. < :-)

I had to go look-up the method that the health care bill was passed through. It was so unfamiliar to me that I had to look it up again. < :-)

Old man smarts. That's a compliment. Doesn't exp[lain your statement that gangster is a compliment.
I wasn't even aware of the method of getting bills through congress with this method until the prior president shoved several through like that. Then when the republicans were pandering their lies and playing their game of "NO" with the health care issue, I determined that if it was so proper for the republicans, then it must be alright. But then I heard the republicans whining like little school girls about using the same method they did. < :-)

skipthesong,
Explain how it was any different with the RX drug plan, except that the health care bill was planned and paid for. The RX drug program was a totally unpaid mandate.
It was passed under the same congressional rules. Don't recall you republicans complaining then. How come? < :-)

skipthesong, I never said a word about him being all surprised and he wasn't aware. He was surely aware.
What's apparent is that the republicans forget that it was created before he got in the WH. He could have done absolutely nothing, then the republicans would be whining that he didn't do what was in his power to help, but only exasperated the problem. But because he did react, he's blamed for it.
Damned if he did and damned if he didn't do anything. < :-)
