perspective I'll tell you one.
Death. Israel has taken the money given to them by the US and invested in jets, helicopters, precision weapons and a nuclear program. Except for the nukes, they have killed more Palestinians them you want to admit.
In the last Israel massacre the Israelites bombed known UN sanctuaries. They bombed schools filled with teachers and children. They bombed UN warehouses. I think the "concession" have been paid by the Palestinians. < :-)

So how long are they going to get a free pass? 100 more years? 200 more years? It was a holocaust. It was wrong, ugly and committed by ugly people. That was 60+ years.
Now cut all ties. You want weapons, buy them yourself. You want to build in areas that were agreed belonged to Palestinians years ago, then do it with your own money. < :-)

It's not being rushed through. For the past 70 years we've been working at it and the republicans are fighting this change by tooth and nail.
2300 pages aren't really that much. Look at what it takes just to achieve simple tasks. Manuals with 500 to 1000 pages. This is a lot of government lingo. And touching insurance companies, doctors, medical equipment companies and hospitals. Not that many pages after all.
Get the hell out of the way republicans, we're passing this without you. < :-)

skipthesong, my health insurance only went up 12.5%. I didn't get a cost of living increase. Why?
Then there are the increases of 39% to 52%. These cost have to be stopped and as long as we follow the "Free Market" they will continue these increases every year.
Before you can control frivolous lawsuits you have to start ridding the medical profession of quacks and incompetents. But I haven't heard the AMA or skipothesong say a thing about ridding the business of pill pushers and quack surgeons who do needless surgeries. But they do use your equipment on all these needless surgeries. Damn, you're profiting from this, so of course you wouldn't mention it.
I've seen the prices on the equipment you sell. Prices like I couldn't believe. $125.00 for a suture kit. Please. It's a needle and threat. But I'm not going to tell you about the medical robberies that take place.
I'm looking forward to it passing. If my congressmen don't vote for it, they won't get my vote come November. < :-)

We need to quit giving Israel a single penny. They're big boys and girls. They want our money, to hell with them.

If there was some sleazy way that the republicans could find to stop the democrats, they'd use it in a heartbeat. Congressman Boehme (sp) already said that he'd use something if he could to stop the democrats, but there isn't anything. Gosh darn. < :-)

It makes no difference when and how reconciliation has been used, it's been used.
I think 12+ times by the republicans and 5 times by the democrats.
But we have the whining republicans calling it sleazy. Only sleazy when the democrats use it.
The tax breaks in 2003 were a new set of tax breaks. Get it correct. The tax breaks given in the first weren't good enough, bush had to start a war based on lies and then run another set of tax breaks by reconciliation again.
So if reconciliation can be used for tax breaks in time of war, then it's good enough for the health care reform bill. < :-)

I simply love hearing hypocrites like Congressman Lyndsey Graham crying that the process that the democrats are attempting to use is sleazy. Wow, I never heard a single republican call it sleazy when they passed the bush tax cuts (in a time of war) and the Rx drug program using reconciliation. < :-)

Sarge, when you live in Japan you really have no idea what America wants. You don't talk to Americans without health care. You read those blogs and news stories without the true facts that they don't address.
Those companies that have lost their health care insurance, those people who have lost their jobs and lost their health care.
But when you live in Japan where socialized health care is available and people who need health care, have it when they need it. But you're real good about telling those who don't have health care in the US, they can suffer I don't care. That's what comes across. < :-)

This will turn into another Iraq. Thought I was going to say Vietnam, huh? Oh no. We have an even worst fiasco then Vietnam. With the Vietnam War behind us and all the knowledge we gained from it, george bush started a war in Afghanistan and left it to be tended by the Afghanistan warlords. Then over 6 years from when he started it, after he mismanaged it, after he'd wasted valuable resources in Iraq instead of dealing with the known threat he walks out of the White House leaving a real mess.
2009 was when the war started to be managed properly. Barack Obama came into office and ask the generals and civilians to access what we have and then to develop a strategy for fighting this war. General McKrystal and others put a plan together and gave it to Obama.
After several months of war planning Obama gave General McKrystal marching orders. The real unfortunate thing is this war is going to take on the ugly fighting strategy of house to house fighting that we saws in Iraq.
We've still got 10 more years to go, another 10 years in Afghanistan. < :-)
