People who live in high rise buildings in the city are being evacuated because the power has to be cut, the CBD is a ghost town, raw sewage is pumping straight into the over flown river. it is a disaster , peoples lives have been turned upside down, some even more unfortunate have lost family and friends, they are estimating up to 2 years before everything is back to normal, the Port is closed and the ships have all gone to open seas, Goddog perhaps you should read a few of the Australian local papers, they at least know where Brisbane is.

Unless the law has changed in the last few years its not illegal to threaten to kill someone, it is still illegal to actually kill them however.

hi Thundercat, I wonder how they work out whether its premeditated or not? In all honesty, I could be invited back to a strange girl's apartment, drink with her . let her go and have a bath, get knocked back and not kill her, rape her dead body and rob her. These dregs of society were always going to do this , if not to her then to someone else, or already had.

Instead of using video for assisting the referees , Why not use it for a show on who is the best faker in the game You could have a whole series on it and it would be international as most of the teams do it, In particular the South Americans and Europeans.
When are they going to start playing the game, I am happy my son's no longer play it as it teaches them poor sportsmanship.

Surely you ned to compare apples to apples, would appear fairly obvious to me that if 100 nurses studied Japanese for 1 year then they wouldn't necessarily all be at the same level of Japanese anyway, Have you all forgotten what was wrong with the Japanese education system in the first place, trying to have Japanese people learn English by rote.

I am beginning to realize how the New Noble peace prize works, You spend more money on wars and the military.
The sad thing is all those American service men and women will hopefully make it home one day only to find that their highways and power stations, hospitals and schools are in disrepair and there will be no money left to fix it, Oh what the heck borrow another trillion.

Obama is an Elected official, He is not an Emperor or a King, Part of his duties are to represent the USA in his meetings with foreign dignatories and officials both those elected and in place by birth rights, The USA recognized the value that Japan put on its Emperor post war as a figure head, That was when the USA was strong and wealthy and in a position of power, Now the USA is poor and weak, not to recognize protocol , would be seen as nothing but arrogant, something America can no longer afford to be seen as. Well done Obama, a little bit of humility goes a long way, especially in Japan.

I am married to a japanese wife and we have a prenuptial ( only verbal so I hope she keeps her side ) She retains 100% of everything as long as she takes full custody of our children.

Nova had been around for a long time, Back in the early 90s , more than a few big name English Schools with big fees went under. Honestly being an English teacher in Japan is a great job for a young person , but not a very good career move. It is a temporary job at best, also works quite well if you are between jobs or just enjoying travelling around the world. But English teachers salaries at Eikaiwas have gone down in the last 20 years or at best stayed stagnant, My advice to anyone teaching English at a big school now, is forget English and do the math, You will soon work out whether your School can afford to pay you , rent, office staff and management as well as advertize on what paople pay for lessons.

Fairly simple really, they divorced because they couldn't stay married any longer, She wanted to return to Japan with her children as any mother would, He wanted to live in the USA and have his kids live there too as any father would. It was always going to end up with one of them happy and the other unhappy, he has just made a bad situation worse, He being an executive would have had means at his disposal and should have appealed to his Japanese wife's more pragmatic side for an amicable resolution rather than the American Courts.
