This is very good news, I'm happy that Japanese businesses are finally investing money in the future. Though 243 MW is still so little... For example a single Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine generates 6000 MW (it has 6 reactors, 1000 MW each). I hope the number and especially capacity of renewable projects will grow in the forthcoming years.

This is stupid, the humanity is still spending much more money on wars than on exploration of outer space and other planets. Military is evil, both Korean and Japanese.

Sawa - sex symbol? This is a joke? :) She definitely looks like a great person, but not as sex symbol.

My favorites are Akira Hayashi and Shino Nakaoka, they are adorable. But all girls from the contest are beautiful (because they not only have physical beauty, but also brains). There should be much more girls in science! Japanese girls, gambatte kudasai!

Author of the article didn't mention "IRASSHAIMASEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" in a high pitched voice, extremely loud, terrorizing my ears every time I enter a Japanese shopping mall. Why they couldn't just stay quiet, just say "irasshaimase" one time??? Is it necessary to be so loud? This very strange behavior really scares customers.

Can you name a cheaper one? I think people go there because it is so damn cheap. Much cheaper to grab a meal there than to head to a conbini. I personally haven't been in years but I get why some people go. tmarie, I mean Sukiya, Yoshinoya, MosBurger. I agree that food in combini is quite expensive, but it is really cheaper to eat in Japanese fast food chains. Several weeks ago I used to eat misoshiru + gyudon + cabbage salad at Sukiya just for 320 yen for everything. And this is very healthy food. MacDonalds is nothing but a lot of FAT that is just ruining your stomach if you eat there more than a week.

I don't understand why people like McDonald's so much. It's really overpriced for a junk food, this is the last place where I would go if I need to buy some burger. In Japan there are native fast food networks which are much better and cheaper.

> Well I do admit that in co-ed schools guys are more pushy than girls and get to ask the questions. > 2020hindsights, you are talking about Japanese schools? For example in Ukraine we had the completely opposite situation: girls are much more active than boys and ask questions more often. However the mental development of boys and girls is equal, boys are just more quiet. Though I don't know about the situation in Japan, maybe it is different.
Posted in: From late primary school to middle school, girls develop faster than boys both physically and mentally. So it's inefficient for boys and girls to take the same classes together because their mental ages are different.

Very sad. RIP to the boy. Japanese government should introduce those new systems which can automatically stop the car if there are any obstacles on the road. On mandatory basis of course. It should be on every car in the country, I think this is possible, there are not so many old cars in Japan. And I agree with Erik Lars, they should introduce much stricter rules about using smart-phones by the drivers.

Mr. Nakai is wrong. What I've really seen is that girls develop faster only physically, but NOT mentally, never. And this is not a problem at all, this has never been a problem for anyone. Students who want to study are studying. Another issue is socialization that is one of the most important factors in such early age. Such segregated schools are absolutely unnatural. Do we really want even wider gap between sexes than we currently have? I don't think Japan needs this.

I don't think this thing is a good idea. We are not robots are we don't have to look like robots. I like women who look just like women. Breasts are ok, they are not evil :)

Turn off all pachinkos, pachinkos are evil and wasting too much energy. Also a lot of elevators in the department stores and subway can be safely turned off if there are stairs and not so many floors in the building. But I don't agree that all nukes should be abandoned, we can duplicate all critical systems (several times) and leave the safest nukes. Japan should also think about using its huge geothermal energy resources, that is used only in onsens now.
