I believe Japan, as a country, pledged $5 million. Today, I read that the National Football League alone pledged $2.5 million. This is roughly 1500 players and a few thousand staff or whatever. Tiger Woods pledged $3 million so between the NFL and Tiger Woods, the USA again defeats Japan.

I'm sure he'll have a good career. What was really astounding last year was Tom Watson almost winning the British Open at the age of 59. That was far more impressive.
Tiger was PGA player of the year so Ishikawa did not "outshine" him at all. For you non-golfers, PGA means "Porn Girls Association".

He should go on Letterman, not Oprah. He definitely should play, but not necessarily in the U.S. Go to Europe. Soon, Americans will be begging him to come back. He's my hero and not for his golf. Hard to believe considering how funny looking he is and that mange on his head.

I used to work in a hotel and to attract foreigners, we accepted their money at par. This means, even though 87 yen fetches a dollar at the bank, Japanese hotels should adjust the rate to 100 yen equals a dollar. Nobody will come otherwise.
