This brake problem should be handled by a third party engineering professional team to evaluate the design. Toyota should proceed w/ the evaluation. This procedure would minimize politics.

To Bamboohat:
"When there's a global economic crisis, the gloves come off. Business is war, and all is fair in love and war."
Gee, I guess the US might revive "Smoot-Hawley", which would imply the US has not shown all the cards yet.

I would prefer that the Mercedes engineering team look at the accelerator: thumbs down; Toyota eats crap; thumbs up, Toyota fights like heck.

The brake problem could be damaging like the well known German automaker who had a sticking accelerator problem in the US (1970's?). The problem is pretty straightforward, Toyota needs to evaluate the brake problem to access cause/malfunction. If the problem is not easily found, bring in a third uninvolved party like Mercedes to assess the engineering problem.
Toyota is very insular, so when I helped them dig out of economic collapse, they wouldn't even thank me or reward me. This may apply to the industry, so things happen in isolation. Insularity may explain the slow response to the problem.

I've always thought that if Kurara Chibana had a more pronounced cleavage, she would be more attractive for movies given her fame. Look where cleavage helped the Kano Sisters to international notoriety. Implants?
However, I read somewhere she would like to go into politics - a stunning body is almost a political dead end.

To ratchet down tensions in the Taiwan Strait, the two parties must sit down and come to agreement as to what degree peace can be engendered. Negotiations on the number of missiles pointed at Taiwan/ROC? should be reduced if Taiwan/ROC? is to maintain present armament status. If Taiwan/ROC? has no defense, any stupid incident could inflame the situation - an agreed defense posture is good for both sides. I don't underestimate the importance of the area, but the PRC better take a second look, for it is vulnerable to misjudgment when a calmer approach to the problem would be a stronger position.

From my perspective, as PM Hatoyama and the DPJ test the parameters of the status of US Bases, it helps me to compare what was, to what the US is trying to do in 2010. In the 1990's, I had an insider view of sorts, and was fascinated by how important the bases are to the US, but was not shown - the strategy and tactics. How Futenma is resolved might be interesting, but I believe the core question is, when the land troops will be phased out?, as the GSDF develops to make US factors redundant. That may be the reason for the US trying to get the SDF to go on overseas missions.

During the Cold War, the relationship seemed? valid. However, the new mentality I have been exposed to after 1991 of US personnel, it may be better to reduce the Base footprints and put them in a country they regard higher. I have been hearing Australia? My experiences for the last two decades and the info on the internet, the US should look south. A more streamlined, backup contingent would be more appropriate for Japan, secondary. Not a major stronghold. A gradual opening up of Okinawa to commercial development. I thought differently before, but the new attitudes are no good, no go. There are people in the LDP that should join the SDF, and sent on missions.

The reason it has to be the Federal Govt. is the censorship works in squads of 6 multiples, and the equipment I am familiar w/ was used during the Cold War.

This might sound naive, but.....
"His remarks follow those made by the U.S. secretary of state, who in a speech Thursday criticized countries engaging in cyberspace censorship,....."
Is the U.S. Secretary of State saying that there is no internet censorship in the US. If so, someone in the Fed better come here, b/c I have been subjected to governmental pressures (authorized/unauthorized?) on the US WestCoast. Hi Tech pressures, but pressure nonetheless. US is a superpower, so questioning US policies is not allowed?

With a 99% conviction rate, SecGen Ozawa is "guilty, until proven guilty".

Sec Gen Ozawa is exceptional in his abilities - surprising he would be vulnerable to a fund scandal.
I read a strange issue that the statute of limitations on this scandal was in March 2010 - can anyone confirm this and why did it occur almost at the same time as when PM Hatoyama had the problem w/ questionable funds from his mother? Odd, very odd.

From the pressures I have received, it is not a traditional alliance in the sense Australia/US relations are. If it was a solid alliance, the US would contract/consolidate the bases more, and US Sec. of Defense Gates would not have become irritated. It is a relationship reflected by the posts on JT, so be it.

If Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and the DPJ wishes to make an impression onto each and every person in the SDF, they should procure and issue an impressionable upgrade to the personal equipment for the personnel. If they haven't upgraded to a Glock 19 9mm, the DPJ should issue that as a DPJ program. If they already have Glocks, give them clips w/ "special" hot loads to practice w/ - they'll get a kick out of it. Given the way things are, the DPJ needs to make a positive impression to the SDF - a way of saying they are important. They are an extension of the NPA, and can make Article 9 work.

The sad truth is, the eventual way to secure airports is to go down the path of the former USSR. For those not familiar to that era, watch the movie, "Firefox" w/ Clint Eastwood. Security at its height, but it also was a "totalitarian state". Great movie, great fighter.

Here's an interesting note: you push the "Arc of Instability" in most major universities, they will grade you down for being wrong, but if you push an intelligence officer on this, they will probably say, "maybe, maybe not".
