From my perspective, I think the Patriot Act and wireless surveillance will be used extensively since all the necessary components are in place. If history is any guide, in the 1950's, even after McCarthyism, tracking and destroying Communists continued - though the criteria was loosely defined. The two most significant change I have been informed about is back door access to Windows and the use of Echelon on US Citizens. I am expecting an increasing attack on privacy in the US for another few decades until a need to upgrade w/ newer technology. Eavesdropping will continue b/c the censors have already been trained and employed.

Ahhhhhh, Roppongi..... interesting place. Had 2-3 incidents there that was like being in a action movie.

Wonder what type of person is being targeted, and if more than one kind of drug is being used?

As the US Economy goes further into debt, the more jobs become available for security/censorship. If the US defaults, the very basis of it's powerbase comes to a standstill.

I'm just guessing, but if the US Economy is facing incredible problems, Pres. Obama would need major, MAJOR influence in APEC. These annual APEC Leaders' Meetings LOOMS very Large. :)

    Summer Blockbuster:

Tom Cruise, Mission Impossible V, nightclub blasted out in Roppongi, car chase through Roppongi to Narita Airport similar to the movie, "Bullit", w/ Steve McQueen, dogfight w/ an F-22.

Would any one know if "Eain Fall", by Eisler is better than the book, "Shibumi" by Trevanian?

That technology is at least three decades old in the US, but in the US, it would be classified. Please look at the link below:

Since the end of the Cold War, I have been exposed to wireless transmitter versions of brain wave manipulations: Quite beyond this article. Dr. Delgado's views on the US Military has a strong following among elite circles, but I disagree w/ it. Makes my skin crawl.

The F 22 does have amazing capabilities, but Sec. of Defense Gates is correct - it needs to be shut down, but economics/politics intervenes. The real reasons for shutdown cannot be publicly stated.

The situation reminds me of a game of 5 cards stud poker. PM Aso came into office w/ a crap hand, and the DPJ had at least a pair. They both drew cards, and now, PM Aso has a pair of deuces, but the DPJ is betting like they have a high pair or three of a kind. PM Aso is shoving cash on the table, but the DPJ is matching his bids - time to take a strong draw of straight whiskey to kill the pain.

Well, the obvious problem is the collapse of the auto market, and Toyota finds itself overextended. However, when I was advising the Toyota Senior Executive in the mid-1990's? on a new engine, more fuel efficiency, it was in addressing the problems emerging presently - thus, auto sales are collapsing EXCEPT the Prius. These were latent problems.

If CEO Toyoda sees the company going down the toilet like before, get the guy in charge of the old Celica/Supra Division to give me a call. To address the problems, one could use a clear understanding of the overview of the situation. I am not joking, but I wish I was.

The DPRK really should listen to the advice from the PRC and the Russian Federation, and return to the 6party talks fully or partially. Those two have vastly better intelligence than the DPRK - the successor can only dream of having that kind of info.

I just realized that if I had a stake in the Prius, I would not be able to say much on other auto companies. I could ONLY help Toyota.

If any company is gonna manufacture a practical electric car, Team Ghosn has a good a chance as the other biggies. I researched his 350Z and GTR - risky, cost efficient, bold and practical. Those are characteristics needed during these times. He knows the big obstacles to his goal is battery weight and capacity - he may be able to make an electric car that would be the primary car - Nissan have the R&D to make it. This would be a challenge for CEO Ghosn.

    To Alphaape:

Actually, I am talking in the past tense, not about something that may happen. The business model I am discussing has already occurred. It has already resulted in hidden inflation, practiced widespread (check any particular state). I looked at this issue when European Governments were resisting zero tolerance of second hand smoke from the US. Taxes leading to inflation.

The underlying irony of all this is, on the West Coast, health care services were good from the taxes of abundent sales of tobacco and liquor. W/ those revenues shrinking to nothing, they had to go for gas taxes (political suicide). The states would be in a better situation if smoking and partying ran amok, especially health care - sooooooooo ironic.
